  1. In Townshends map, I find these west-Belgian locations for Belgian Escadrilles: Les Moeres, La Panne, and Koksijde (Coxyde) Must check later, if we have those fields in OFF?
  2. Belgium

    Those are indeed Belgian concordes.
  3. A Story For The Season

Amen to that! A song like "Lili Marlene" or a day like Christmas makes the inner barriers melt away like snow in beginning spring.
  4. PinkPanther: I've played Phase1 of OFF so know what to expect when it does arrive. Not really, PinkPanther, you don't - you may have a vague idea, memories... But you better be wide awake, when you meet the enemy- your memories may fail you here...
  5. Belgium

Ah, I see. Here is a link for all Belgian Esc. interested pilots. There is the Townshend map, that I had introduced earlier. I just revisited it to see, Where the Belgians where located. (That way I also found another map with only German Jasta.) http://forum.combatace.com/topic/51201-new-jasta-location-map/
  6. Belgium

Where are these craft exhibited, Lou? I have never seen a D VII in that camo before - wonder if that is right?
  7. In modern Anti-Virus programs should be a "game mode", that recognises, that a game or sim is going on. If you don't have that, simply switch Anti-Virus off - shouldn't be a hassle. I think, it will even remind you, when you switch the rig on again, that it is still switched off.
  8. Belgium

Chimay - isn't that the place, where the monks brew that special beer?
  9. Some Ideas ...

Good idea, vschoell. I think, they'll do something like this some day, when they have done the more urgent other works. Such a sim is a helluvalot of work to get it right.
  10. Happy Birthday OVS

Yeah, Pol, they don't play "Fussball" in America much, which would be "football" transated, but that is a different game for them, and "Fussball" they call "soccer" - strange new world. Well, this drawing is related to the "Christmas Truce", where Entente and German soldiers left their trenches, sang and drank together, and played "Fussball".
  11. Just found this site and want to share it with the Nupe 28 lovers. Click on each pic and enjoy! http://www.nasm.si.e...t/allphotos.htm For more, click also on the small blue writing at the left. You get more resoration projects, or more about the NASM.
  12. OFF Forum Pilots Maps

Update 12/24/09 01:12 Berlin wintertime (= GMT + 1) captain sopwith, South Africa, added. South Africa can play Quartet now! All the maps are in post 1 of this thread
  13. Shouldn't be lost - check "controlls". In worst case - reset CFS3 in workshop.
  14. Belgium

Beautiful craft, and great pic, UncleAl. And I can sleep well again - only ONE gun!
  15. The text on the left reads: The French Nieuport 28 aircraft flew with the 27th, 94th, 95th and 147th American squadrons during WWI. The Museum's artifact is a factory constructed Nieuport made shortly after the war. It has been restored in the colors of James Meissner's 94th Aero Squadron airplane. And, Rickitycrate, you're right - it belonged to Cole Palen's Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome earlier.
  16. IF it never arrives, you should beg, borrow or steal a copy - no, but mail to Avangate. Otherwise you may much later sit in the old age and hear the pilots banter about the good old OFF days - and you can't join them! You'd miss the sim of your life, boy!
  17. Back in the Saddle

Duce Lewis: Anyone torn up their top wing yet? Naw - I think, we're flying the overhauled version. The crate is really growing on me!
  18. Train in my airfield!

Pilot Cowman - you should really observe your alcohol consumption! German crates may be a bit heavy sometimes - but we don't fly with trains! (and please send me a PM with your town and country/state, for the OFF Pilots map)
  19. Belgium

Nice bird - and TWO guns??? Quite a competition for German craft!
  20. Back in the Saddle

Welcome back, Duce! Was about to search for yer. My third sortie with the N 28 was much better after early stalls. Give her a shallow dive for gaining speed, and then turn her banked steep with elevator; NO rudder. Those are the tight fast turns. Softer turns she will do with good rudder, but only banked a little.
  21. Sure - and I would offer time to do so myself. But we don't have anything like that here.
  22. OFF Forum Pilots Maps

Update 12/23/09 11:23 Berlin wintertime (= GMT + 1) PinkPanther, British Columbia, added. Second pilot from Kelowna Johan217, Belgium, added. All the maps are in post 1 of this thread
  23. Pink Panther, this is surely one of the top communities you could come across. And yes, play that other sim while you wait - you won't touch it much anymore, once you got OFF. And once again: would you send me a PM with your hometown and state? I will add you to our OFF Pilots Map then.
  24. I tried it too, at two wooden hangars, British and German. No way!
