Bad weather just kills my FPS

I'm driving an ATI 4870 with 2 GB memory, and never had frame drops in bad wheather. -
BOBDAV, the aircraft on the ground may use your skin - in flight, they shouldn't.

Hey, is this the mess table? What do you guys drink? Seems to be good! I want my AI choice to be - want to win the war today! - want a Blue Max! - want to stay alive - want to go home - where's the poor old ostrich we fight for? -
What do you mean, UncleAl? 3D Models maybe not, but skins, he can use. I do so.

thewoo1, the Strutters, like the BE2c, the Fee and the RE8, acted like sitting ducks even before HitR. Hopefully getting changed for Phase 4.

Guns Reloaded. New, Fluke, or Always Been There?
Olham replied to RAF_Louvert's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Hey, Lou - could you write me one of those for the next visit at the dentist? You're so good at it, that I really got sleepy, but - unfortunately, I don't have a credit card, sorry! -
HH, the skins belong into this folder: (Your game folder) > Campaigns > campaign data > skins In QC, you can now choose the plane type, and right of that, the skin. Best to give your skins names to recognise them - add some name at the end, like: off_Alb_DIII_early_t_Jasta 15 1917 Hobbit.dds When they where ace skins, just replace the ace name with yours.

Tried the N 28 too, and will continue the campaign. Yes, the whole OFF feels much wider, spacier to me somehow, and I had some good fighting in my Albatros D III against an Esc. with only French aces it seemed, flying N 24bis - boy, they gave me a tough time! (Esc.27 I think it was). -
I have only made one flight with 27th Aero to check the N 28, and it went fine. See report: http://forum.combatace.com/topic/50876-downed-a-fokker-dr1-then-landed-my-burning-n-28/

Not sure what's going on here - yesterday I was rather disappointed, today it was sheer excitement! Meanwhile, I had changed the sliders a little, and set max fraps to 32. Now, I had a totally different fighting, and a superb action it was! Flying for Jasta 15 on May 1., 1917 with Ernst Udet, we got attacked by a flight of N 17. They where doing "veteran", the fighting was alright, and we managed to shoot some down, the rest may have run home. But then over the lines: out of a cloud came a flight of Nieuport 24 bis, and, boy, did they challenge us! I managed to damage one ace quite a lot; but then my ammo was out. One of my wings finished him off, and I thought, hey, we're going to win this easy. But no way! Udet fought highest, against one single Nupe. Me and two wings where medium altitude. The rest of both sides fought low. Now I called my men back to me and ordered to attack a specific ace craft. And they did. But the guy evaded superb! And not enough - another ace (Thiery or similar name) came to get me. I called for help again and again, but he hit me several times. I travelled down as steep as I dared to reach an army camp with ground gunners, but the guy was in my neck so hard, it was really dangerous. And now my wingman Horst Mann, and wing2 Heinrich Harmann arrived. Boy, to see them turnfight Thiery was amazing! While they where busy, the other French came and peppered me again. I had an engine fire, engine stopped out, and I could just make a crash landing near a spotter. I'm afraid it was SO intense I forgot to make screenshots of the second fight. I'll search for the others shots of first fight and post them here later. I am very impressed! Devs, when you now can find any solution for giving me back my fuel management, you make me the happiest creature under the sun! Edit: I did one pic in that fight - that was my wingman shooting up one French ace

Sure the Fokker's great! With the Albatros, it was rather a very good pilot. -

It's a funny world - I would have thought, this is now more to your likes, Creaghorn. But now it isn't - or maybe we all see a different AI, depending on the machine we play it on? -

Clouds on 5, Siggi? Can you post a screeny? Is it worth doing? -
Skin resolution has three steps. Try the middle one. May be the damage is also controlled by the effects quality slider - not sure. You may also download the "Herr Prop-Wasche and Fortiesboy DM models" from the download section. Hollywood, but fun!
-
Tch! Carrick - we don't know any other sim here! Not by name! Don't know, in which sticky the damage models are. Maybe you got to check the downloads button in the head bar above, and there go to "Over Flanders Fields" - see what you find there. Yes, just checked it, it's called "Herr Prop-Wasche and Fortiesby DM models".

Perhaps you had just average opponents so far. If you had run into this ace flight, you would have had some good work. Yesterday I had the same impression as you. Now I have made some graphic setting changes, and fixed the fraps to max. 32. Not sure if that can change behaviour (Pol said, with higher graphic settings, the AI gets more aggressive), but today I liked it. -

No, that was not so - these French aces in N 24 bis DID hunt me down, and I really got my ass handed to me in the end. It seems realistic to me, when there are always only the ace type pilots, who go for you aggressively - not everyone else too. I used to kill Nupes per minute before - that was not possible anymore. -

I think I have second thoughts after early complaints. I just had a fight with SPAD VII over more than 20 minutes. All my 6 wingmen came back home with me alive! And although it took long, it was intense and full of action. Gontermann shot one down, that I saw. Most stayed high up, and the fast and powerful SPADs where difficult to reach at all. Maybe that they are not so aggressive anymore - but the fight and the outcome seems still far more realistic to me. -

Ah - another craft I need to try more. So far only tried the Bristol (hmmm...), DH-2 (challenging, but okay), and the Tripe (good). The Camel earlier on (good, but tricky and much overrated); must try that one too. -

Another fight went superb - SPAD VII, out of the sun! Surprising even Udet and Gontermann. Very most of us all remained high, or even climbed further. Boxed by the wind, I tried to get up to Udet's flight. It took several minutes to reach them, but then Gontermann came diving down, a SPAD behind him, and I shot the French to hell. Then I saw a lonely Udet circling high with one SPAD. He must have had a jam, or ammo was out. I tried to get up there, but they always turned away, until Udet lured the craft right into my gunsight. I hit him so hard, that bits and pieces came off. He tried to run, but too shallow was his dive to leave me behind, and I fired (my last rounds) from closest distance. Engine or tank exploded, and he fell burning. What I liked about this fight: it took more than 20 minutes! I used to have quick slaughters, 1 Nupe per minute, like that. No more! This felt so much more realistic - almost like a step from Phase 2 to 3! Devs, if you where girls, I'd come over and kiss you - phantastic! -

Yeah, but aren't they rather "nervous" craft again, like theN 11? -

Okay, then you only have the Bristol Scout, or the DH-2, which I'd prefer. Not a nervous plane. But be careful in turns; do either soft bank turns with rudder or hard banked speed turns with elevator - both doesn't seem to mix.
