Well, please report, Bullethead, when that works. -
Guns Reloaded. New, Fluke, or Always Been There?

RAF_Louvert: But I was just so darned happy that I took off and starting banging away again like an idiot with a hammer. "Mongo like more bullets." -
Well finally I realised what sort of pilot I am

Pacman, you can already take the even more reliable Albatros D II, which was a great fighter in it's time. And superb view! It is not so twitchy and nervous, you just line up your solid craft, aim, and shoot the enemy down. No butterflying! Entente side, I recommend the S.E.5a. -
Downed a Fokker Dr.1, then landed my burning N 28

You can make three download attempts. If they should all fail, you must send a mail to support@overflandersfields.com Winder guaranteed you will get your data definitely. If you choose the insurance AVANGATE offer, you can download as often as you want for two years. But that costs extra (8,40 Dollar I think). -

Are you sure it was not a gun jam? Cause that gets cleared after a while, I had that often; when they jam, I pull the trigger again and again, and after some time, guns fire. Perhaps you cick on the blue text with the HUD next time - it will tell you how much ammo there is left. -
Bordeauxred Baron: "Vell, it IS easy for yoo to spot our craft - only a colourblind vould misz zem! Ant ze headstart is just an excuse for ze poor craft you ar flyink! Except, perhaps, der Camel." Mechanic Schultz: "...and the S.E.5 - maybe, Herr Rittmeister?" B B: "Ant ze S.E.5, okay!" Mechanic Schultz: "...and, if I may say that, the SPAD?" B B: "Yes, and der SPAD, too!!!" Mechanic Schultz: "Also, from what I heard, the Pup is good! And the Bristol fighter..." B B: "Schultz!!!! You are a mechanic!!! What do you know about ze Crumpetz?!?!? Don't you hav any work to doo on ze Albatros?!?" Mechanic Schultz: "Jawohl, Herr Rittmeister!" (salutes and leaves) B B: "Crumpetz!!! If they wouldn't exist already, god would have to invent zem. Nice fightink any time, indeed."

MikeDixon: Also I'm abit odd in that I enjoy getting "bounced" by the Hun sometimes. Bordeauxred Baron: Vott?!? Der Crumpet LIKEZ it?!??!?? Here vee come - vee vill rrrrock you!!! Mmuahahahahahaaaaaaa!!!!!!!

The "Butterfly Effect" was the closest description, I assume. But: it's their "baby" - and this "mother" I trust!

Right, JimAttrill - my real family name is Mahlo. (spelled like your English Marlowe) -
tone12, as long as I don't fly the DiD, I switch them on occasionally to see, how many enemies there are, and at what altitudes. But in Full DiD, I just use Flak as a dead certain sign there are enemies. As a German, I am mostly flying over own terrain, and there it is a great help. When I see Flak, I often pause, and zoom in several notches, until I can recognise the aircraft, or at least their number. Zooming in would be even allowed in Full DiD, as it is like using binoculars. The "pause" key might be an immersion killer, but as I can't just use the glass like a real person could in a real flight, I make that compromise. Enemies high will be visible much better. You must then make a quick decision: fight or leave. If it's fight, you best climb towards them. Enemies low are worse to see, but therefor you have time. Circle, to get some sun glare on their wings from some angle. Zoom in, make yourself a good picture of their number and maybe type, before you go lower. Don't rush head over heels into this - check the sky around and above, too. Act, as if it could really cost your life.

As some of you may have noticed, I was absolutely unhappy about the fact, that our "absolutely personal skins" where only given to me for the price of loosing the fuel management. Had I known that, I would not have asked for the personal skin, as the fuel management on a craft like the Albatros makes the difference between a mediocre and a bad fighter. Others noticed changes in the AI behaviour. It seems, that the interactions in the sim are very complex and not always foreseeable. You change THIS, and suddenly THAT behaves different, too. Building up on a sim, adding more and more to it, must be a complex change in an immense cosmos of things you cannot always see. But I have the trust in the dev team, that they will care for all these things, and will see how they can improve, fix or reset them. It may take some patching, but if it comes out as great as we all experienced after the last Superpatch + 32g patch, it will be truely worth all struggling. As we are all pretty grown up, I think we will come up with rather constructive criticism, and no bashing in any form. Take the time to look into the problems, devs - I have strong trust in you.
-
That last line was exactly what I thought this morn, about my boiling emotions - I wouldn't feel that, if it didn't matter to me.
-
Definitely more complex than a plate of Spaghetti!
-
I think it's even more complex than that, Siggi. If you only just imagine, how much you would have to program/write to make AI act intelligent - I have the deepest admiration for the guys, and I wouldn't want to do the job. Seems, that many thing relate to each other, which make it unpredictable in parts, what else will change, when you change one thing. Let's give them some time to find out, I'd say.
-
Just make one flight with it and see - so easy to change back. For my oppinion, the craft look greater.
-
To give you a heads-up, Pol: the AI fighting other AI isn't that bad. I watched a fight yesterday between Fokker Dr.1 and Nieuport 28, and they remained high (good!), and the circled round each other, and there where still two aircraft shot down. I don't think, that there would have been much more losses in real life, so I found that pretty realistic. What the AI is yet lacking, is more action in response to the player. At least better defensive evasive action. I managed to shoot a Fokker Dr.1 down as a rookie on the N 28 - no Jasta 4 pilot would have flown so lame with a N 28 behind him.
-
Hi, Tone12 I always used the medium aircraft resolution until I tried the high one recently and stuck to it. The craft look even better, and you still see some more realistic damage like bulletholes. And as my left wingtip got lost in a too steep dive with my Albatros, it was visible, too. Just give it a try - you can always change back.
-
Well, I also experimented with sliders yesterday, and I think, it might be enough for you to go perhaps one higher with one slider; like this: Aircraft detail : 5 Terrain detail : 3 Scenery detail: 4 Effects quality: 4 Clouds quality: 1 Cause in my case, there was still some good fighting on. Fokker Dr.1 and N 28 circling and fighting. They remained high. Two craft where shot down at least (that's what I could see), and there would not be more of that normally. Fights seemed more realistic to me like that. What I missed, was more evasive action of the craft I was chasing. It reacted, as if the pilot had given up. There should be more "passive fighting" necessary.

Hat In The Ring is a Must Have
Olham replied to Rickitycrate's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Your screens look mighty fine, Rickitycrate! What are your system specs and resolution, if I may ask? I am amazed by the new, even better looks - and I was amazed of the previous already! So: big compliment to the devs for improving the looks so well! -
Von Guber: ...didn't many of the fuel systems on our birds require pressurization? If so, the 'extra fuel in case we get a hole' theory won't work. Another good point. A pilot like Udet, who did a lot on his plane with his mechanics, would have known, if it made a huge difference between 30% and 100% tank filling, right? So, if he knew, the next flight needed 30 %, he might have filled in more of course, like 50% for some safety, but never 100%. I cannot think of a simpler way to keep my fighter as agile as possible.

And one last point: most craft didn't have throttles either. So why not cick those out, too?
-
Make ONE pass, if you must, and leave - Albatros are fighters, not really made for ground attacks. The new DH-5 is made for that, or most two-seaters. Try a DFW - it has a bomb site. When I get a ground attack for my Albatros Staffel, I advance time, or let A-flight do the job and care for high cover.
-
That sounds to me like a rather helpless attempt to explain something, that got messed up and cannot easily be changed back. Had you asked me before, if I would prefer fuel mamagement, or to fly my individual skin really alone, I would have prefered the fuel management any time. I mean - if it never had been there in the first place, that would be different. But it was an important part of my campaigns, always.
-
nbryant, you can follow your wingmen for that. I sometimes did, and sometimes they get it right and happily land all together. It works best on an airfield with no trees or hill next to the field. But each time it's open again, if they'll crash or land.
