  1. Haha! Bullethead - which of the 4 horseman shall I be? Thanks for the tip, I used your previous one anyway - turning right goes better. Carrick, that was indeed an idea I had: creating an "Opposite Campaign", where you start opposite time of year, and opposite side of the line. Not sure if anyone else would want that - we could do that; with Siggi's rules, but without a website. Ras, the Tripe was already flown by my British alter ego, David Oldham. A very agile craft, and easier to handle than the Nupe, I'd say. Turnfighting Albatros had no chance against me. Ras, now you say the same as Carrick - should we do an "Opposite Campaign"?

  3. Okay, Sandbagger, now I have changed the signature of the above picture. As I was in Photoshop anyway, I also added some Albatros silhouettes.
  4. Red-Dog can now host

Hi, Red Dog. Do you mean a small team play? Generally I would love to try it, and will do so, when I have solved some problems on my new rig. I will send you a PM then, but it'll take some days, before my "technician" finds the time again to help. You'll hear from me.
  5. Thanks, all! Hi, Sandbagger - the signature was meant to honour the creators, cause it isn't really a painting done only by myself. But you're right - it makes it look as if OBD ordered and released it. I will remove it.

  7. Very cool WW1 video

Ah - now it works for me! Man, this is excellent and impressive footage! Bullethead, here's your bird!
  8. Very cool WW1 video

Von Baur, try this address - it worked for me. http://www.nfb.ca/film/airplane_casualties/ Not sure if it's the right film, but you can also check the related ones. There are several films from WW1 there.
  9. Very cool WW1 video

When I type "www.nfb.ca" without the 3, I get to their board. Now, if you could give me the title to search for, I might get in there.
  10. OFF + Hat in the ring

Mees76 - however they decide: even if there was NO package price, it would be a "Best Buy" getting OFF BHaH + Add-on pack. To get many more than just one craft, plus ground installations, plus improved landscape, plus the ability to fly an individual skin, plus plus plus... (don't know all, but you get the idea). If you are in for the greatest immersion and the best campaigns, you couldn't do a thing wrong, even if it was 100,- Dollar. Now I must get back into my cockpit - the 'Crumpets' may be intruding already!...
  11. Very cool WW1 video

Can't get to the site. Any better link? Or can you type the address, so I can try on my neighbours system?
  12. In a two-seater, the gunner's and your own shooting adds up to the same result. Your gunner CAN shoot down craft alone, which you can claim and can get confirmed. I assume, you had no witnesses close enough - your gunner is no witness. I had that several times - the others where too far away, and bang! went another claim. I recommend to fly the two-seater, cause you will do that more evasive than AI. On the other hand, AI gunner shoots better than you with that gun (hard to aim with a joystick).
  13. TIR problem

Occasionally I have this, that the aircraft around me isn't there. It always came back, when I went to an outside view and back again. And, as Pol says: check all key assignments of TrackIR and change them, where necessary.
  14. Imagine, that German pilots would have had to cross the lines as much as the Entente fighters. Early May (9th?), 1917, von Richthofen was shot down. His Albatros was hit, a lot of petrol spilled out, and so he had to cut the engine and descend steep, to avoid fire. Had that happenend some miles into French terrain, he would have been captured and become a POW. Months ago, I had posted the famous photograph of Udet in his cockpit. Bullet holes very close to the pilot. Had he been hit, he would not be the famous ace he became. MvR had bullet holes in his pilot suit very often. He even found rounds in the cloth sometimes. Surviving WW1 air combat for a long time needed an expert pilot - plus a good amount of luck or good guardian angels.
  15. Not a screenshot anymore, really. I liked the evening scene, and began adding the lights in Photoshop. After a while, I was partly painting and tweaking the whole picture.

  17. working on an alternate map

    Okay, thanks, Creaghorn!
  18. Your previous was much cooler, but looked like WW2, OvS. But this one - don't really know... And this one - yes, that Spartan film "300" - I switched it off after about half an hour, cause when I want to watch meat being chopped up, I go to my grocery. They're not as entertaining, but they don't need so long.
  19. Jarhead, I would have recognised you even without telling me - you had once shown a picture of you in this Marines uniform - something with "Blue" in the name of it - and he hit you very well! What an honour! Thanks for the link - I'll check, if I can find more German Jasta paintings.
  20. I could have bought it - but Bill Murray is way too old meanwhile. I wish, he had made many more comedies - I absolutely like his way. Hey - is that you shouting your head off, OvS ? Looks like a face for the movie "GLADIATOR" to me. "Roma victor!!!"
  21. working on an alternate map

How did you use it, Creaghorn? Did you download it from here? And where did you put it then?

  23. Yep. When I see the number of sorties of Hartmann, Barkhorn, Rall, Galland, Osterkamp and many others - unbelieveable!
  24. JimAttrill, it was not so much the aristocrats disliking the worker parties generally. What they did not like was the "style" of the Nazi politicians - big mouthed and pretty megalomaniac, with not the right education behind it. And the military elite did not like them, because people had come to power, who did not proceed the military promotional and educational way of carreers, but where implanted into their positions, like Goering. And the Wehrmacht, which consisted of many aristocratic officers, did not like the fact, that with the (non-aristocratic) Schutzstaffel (SS) an army was imposed besides the Wehrmacht, and out of their control, following only Hitler. By the time Hitler started the war, the German forces where yet underequipped and had too little qualified men. Against England stood not the whole of the Luftwaffe, but rather half of it - the other half was fighting in the east. The war could not be won by Germany due to several facts: - a second front had to be made up, to keep England off the continent after it's declaration of war to Germany. - the Enigma fell into British hands and made the U-Boot fleet of limited use and take the hardest losses - Hitler had underestimated the Russian capacity of tank building - and the terrible conditions of a winter war in Russia (Napoleon could have told him) - America did not only supply Britain with material, but entered the war I am very glad they failed, as I wouldn't have wanted a Nazi regime. But I have a good deal of admiration for the achievements, the developments and the work done by a small nation as Germany is. Also, I am full of admiration for the Royal Air Force pilots, who fought to total exhaustion to keep the enemy out the gates. For the Russian common soldiers, who fought back a technically much more advanced army. For all those men - Americans, British, Australians, Canadians - who stormed the Fortress Europe at the beaches of the Normandy. For everyone, who fought back the dictatorship of the GröFaZ*. * (grösster Feldherr aller Zeiten - greatest commander of all times)
