  1. What?? We have a "Pylon Race" in OFF ???
  2. Duce Lewis: Yes, but on those rare times when you beat the odds and wobble her down to an ugly landing ...but then walk ...err run away! Woohoo!!! Don't think you'll ever see that happening, Duce. Cause the sim stopped the further fall only, when the craft was finished hopelessly. No survival. And the now introduced button only allows you to see it 'till the very bitter end. No secret inbuilt chances though. But maybe I'm wrong.
  3. Aiming circle

Why not fly it like a fighter pilot - with a fighter around you? Harder, of course, but much more simulating the real thing.
  4. Multiplayer Question

Duce, it should be possible - I also want to try that soon. I asked about it some time ago, and got this advice from MADMATT: All graphic settings (or maybe even all "workshop" settings ?) must be identical on both rigs. Then it should work. I'll report, whenever I have made it to that point.
  5. Okay, you may not have found out - but you remembered it well, and that helped us, as we missed the original "finder". So, thanks again! One more note to Morris and all: When ever you change files, you should make a backup of that file - just in case you make a mistake, and it goes haywire.
  6. PS: Morris, you may not see the new Squadron assigned before the first sortie; the log may still show the old. But after the flight, it will be changed.
  7. Just noticed, that RODEN have made new models in 1:32 this year. Here is the cover painting of the D.III, and an address for a closer look/read. The models with a camera sign behind the names have pictures of modeller's results attached. See also "In processing". Still no Albatros D.V or D.Va though. http://www.rodenplant.com/HTML/framemodels.htm
  8. Well, I cannot but feel sorry for everyone, who tried to make a WW1 air combat sim and put so much hard work into it, and then fail in the end getting it done properly. A little tragedy. Just my 2 cents. For OFF though, it can only be good, so there is something positive in it, too.
  9. OFF Forum Pilots Maps

Update 11/21/09 00:00 Berlin wintertime (= GMT + 1) Morris, South Africa, added. South Africa got the third man for Skat! All the maps are in post 1 of this thread
  10. Morris, to keep your pilot, but change squadron for another plane type, you can go to your pilot dossier and change the line for the squadron. That should be the third line. But you must write the new squadron exactly as it should be - so best you start a test pilot in the new squad first, and then copy the third line from his dossier into the other guy's. You find the pilot dossier here: (your game folder) > campaign > campaign data > pilots > pilotXX.dossier The number of the dossier will be one higher than his number in the log; so pilot no. 11 will have pilot12 dossier. Creaghorn found that, and we did it with success, keeping all claims, kills, hours and medals.
  11. I find myself half way between Rickitycrate and Creaghorn there - more realism contra more fun, so to say. Would have to try it, to make a decision. If it could be switched off in "Workshop", that would make it an addition to the range of experiencing OFF.
  12. Now the sim is set up so, that you will auto-exit the flight, when the damage is such, that the pilot can't controll the craft any longer, and would plummet to death. Some found that too interruptive; they wanted the fatal end in full stereo and Technicolour all the way down to the "ouch"! And so, with the add-on, you will be able to choose, which way you prefer to end.
  13. That's how I used to fool my old dad. When he visited me in Berlin, he wanted to see some places, of course. When we had walked a while, and he felt a bit exhausted, he kept asking me: "When will we be there?" Or: "How much more will we have to walk?" My standard answers used to be: "In 5 minutes." or "500 Meter." When he then asked again, and said, 5 minutes where over now, or we had now walked 500 Meters, I said, that had been basic mental encouragement to keep him walking, but from HERE on, it was really only 5 minutes, or 500 Meter. I should be ashamed, but it kept him in shape.
  14. Yep; learnt a lot in 10 minutes. Thanks all. And maybe, some day, they find a way...
  15. Pol: Winder has improved the trees and scenery too in the expansion. Hopefully some of those will show it off. Definitely! Most may just notice it subconsciously, but I always thought, that you have created a mighty fine landscape for OFF, which is an immense part of the whole immersion. And when you even managed to improve that - incredible!
  16. Here's even better, Balders! http://www.boardgamegeek.com/image/267713
  17. Check here, Baldric - saw a lot of 1:144 there. http://www.kampfgruppe144.blogspot.com/
  18. OFF Forum Pilots Maps

Update 11/20/09 01:28 Berlin wintertime (= GMT + 1) sharka952, Maine, added. OFF's first man in Maine ! All the maps are in post 1 of this thread
  19. Wow - that Nupe 28 above the field is a very beautiful shot! And although this is mainly about new craft, I'm always stunned again about what a good landscape gardener Winder is!
  20. Maybe he had no ammo left, and wanted to kill you with his pocket knife?
  21. Maybe just and especially the landing gear is made to last? Due to some crazy pilots, who might break it all the time and then complain?
  22. Snap rolls?

Well, however, I'm not in there for aerobatics. Before any of my enemies come up with phantastic manoeuvers, I may watch them, if I have the time, but before it gets too much, I shoot them dow.
  23. Where's Rooster?

Naw - he is in the German team, but may find little time recently.
