Ah, I see. I thought that was almost a barrel roll. I'll search WIKI for some manoeuver drawings. I get them all wrong named. I tried this manoeuver with the Albatros, and found I had to push stick when headover, not to loose much altitude. It might have looked similar to the Cesna's. And when I see this vid, I think, they shouldn't dare to perform it with a fix-gear craft at such a low altitude?

Haha! But beware - the prop radius isn't much less!!

Yeah, you know the good stuff. I still have several unbuilt HASEGAWA, DRAGON and TRIMASTER 1:48 WW2 kits with metal etched parts. Top class kits they are! I should get my airbrush compressor repaired. Then it would be fun again to buil some models. -
Yes, I see what you mean. It may be in the basic CFS3 code already, and difficult to change. But perhaps it's possible on a badly shot up plane, to make the gear break away at touch down. And then it should be sliding over the ground on it's belly?

Hmmm - not yet clear, as the word "snap" offers me about 30 translations in the online dictionary. Do you mean - badly expressed - a roll, where the wings "propell" around the fuselage (which I tought was just called "roll") ? Do you mean, it would just not come out precise enough, in terms of altitude?

I see - do you know good WW1 plastik kits in 1:32, Siggi ? -
Hope, they will also show it on German TV. I often wonder, how much some people get done every day. For me, I sometimes have only spread the butter on my toast, and the morning's gone!

Being a stone age bloke, when it comes to special manoeuvers: could anyone send a drawing of the snap roll? Cause, what Bullethead describes, is what I used to do, when I made a barrel roll with a Messerschmidt Bf 109. So what is the difference?

Wow, Siggi - the cockpit parts show the serious modeller! And the wheathering - great! Red Dog, the models of EDUARD are even better, maybe, with photo-etched metal parts for the details. But they don't make them larger than 1:48, it seems. -
The english pilot Major J. C. Savage had to find something to earn his livelihood with after the end of WW1. It was his idea, to use the sky as an advertising space. Quick he made contracts with many big companies. He bought an S.E.5a from military outlet and modified it with two long tubes attached to the exhaustpipes. Oil was injected to them, which produced, together with the hot exhaust fumes, a white smoke. On quiet days, the writing remained readable for about 10 minutes. His aircraft is now exposed in the Science Museum, London. I just found this website and did my best translating this text. http://www.airventure.de/ You find lots of pictures there, but more modern aircraft. Also many good nose arts.

There must also be an Royal Air Force Museum, but not in London, I think. Never been there. Does anyone know that one? What do they show? -

Amen to that - I was lucky to see it on my trips to London. A must for every air combat aviation fan! -

Yeah, okay, there's always someone tougher than you. I mean, for her, as she just started flying OFF, the in-game map as the only guide is difficult enough. -
Somewhere in the cfs3 config, I think it was, the max. frames should be set to somewhere around 32 or similar? I read that long ago, but can't remember what and where to change it? Does anyone know?

Hey, Nessy - you changed your name! Just when I had added you to the OFF Pilots Maps - as racindriver1. Okay, I'll change it again. But please don't change it again. Cause now, we can call you "Nessy", which is much better than racindriver1. -
Kaiser, I didn't even dare to mention nominatives, genitives and datives - German just is damn hard to learn. And for the Austrian corporal - well, the Germans shouldn't have elected his party. But he seemed very promising in the beginning, with his "work for all" and general whealth, and programs for the young people. We all - the people of each democratic state - must be on the watch, and not elect and hope for someone to bring it all back right, but as a deal with the devil.

Okay, I see - well, I'm still much more impressed by OFF than by "Arnie". But good, that he loves it. -
Update 11/18/09 16:04 Berlin wintertime (= GMT + 1) kentcol, Texas, added. racindriver1, England, added. Welcome to our first new female pilot since a long time! All the maps are in post 1 of this thread

Okay then, sharka, welcome to the Germans! As you may have seen, the rules say, that you will first fly a two-seater, until you got 17 hours, or 5 confirmed kills. Then you will change over to Jasta 6. The craft you will fly for our side has a skin with our Elitegruppe emblem on it. You will soon receive a PM; there I will lead you to the skin, and our "internal chainmail system", where we share news, tactics and gossip. -
This one is no fake - you must love her! (Bullethead's grandma?)

OvS: ... in fact, now it's like 70's Arnie compared to Melvin from Revenge of the Nerds... Naw! Arnie was just impressive, and maybe a good looking Terminator (just terminates California successfully - Lol!). OFF combines real beauty and immense depth / profoundness, and incredible immersive campaigns. (But who the hell is Melvin?) -
Mr H ? (Didn't get this one) ? Do you mean A. H. ? (But he was an Austrian).

Welcome, sharka! Well, Siggi, the inventer of this, made an own website for the records and the rules. http://www.hetzer.ta....net/rules.html Click on the cockade, then click on all pictures. There are the rules, and the recent records. Then you decide, which side you want to fly for, and post to the leader of that squad. On the German side, that would be me, Olham, on the British side RAF Louvert. Now hurry on, pilot - your country needs you! PS: please give me your hometown and country - I'd like to add you to the OFF Pilots maps.
