Muß ja jeder selber wissen, was er versäumen will. Ich finde OFF z.B. noch besser als IL2 - und das fand ich schon Spitze.
-
Are you sure about that? It may be possible against the AI, but try the D VII then, and you'll outturn the SPAD, I think.
-
Sorry, Widow, but it was 5 against 1 (France, England, Canada, America and Australia). So how can you say "we won" there - who is "we" in this case?

Seeing there is a German language section here in the Combat Ace Forum, I have just written an invitation for German users about Over Flanders Fields, in the hope to introduce it to Germans. I have offered there, to answer questions as far as my time allows, and I would be glad, if any other German speaking people here could join me there and add info and knowledge from time to time. http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showtopic=47469&view=findpost&p=341857

Yes, like Hollywood Deunglish so to say. Iti, if you would also check the German post I made, from time to time, and conribute something, that would be fine. Or you could also check Gremlin's "Wings of Honour" website and see, if you can do something there?

1. Brisfit killed without my engine being hit
Olham posted a topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Today I shot down my first Brifit, that did NOT hit my engine! I had ordered my wingmen to attack it, and came in for the kill. The rear gunner had three craft to fire at, and I was lucky - I was not his choice. I think I shot him, cause after my second approach, he didn't seem to fire back at all. (See: Screenshots) Great to make the experience, that they are no "wizards". -

Duce: Nice job on that Brisfit. Very impressive. And none of you approaches seem to be from below. No, there was no trick. The Brisfit was very low already, when I got there; my wings where fighting the craft at about 300 - 400 feet only - there was no way to get underneath it. But that is anyway mostly impossible with a Brisfit - when you try that, they perform evasive moves like banking and turning left, so that the gunner can fire at you. Or they pull up steep, and the gunner showers you with hot lead. The only "trick" here was, that I had ordered all wings to attack him, and he can't fire at 3 or 4 craft. Still though: had he chosen me, I would have been damaged again. -
The TrackIR5 software is even smoother. You could get a T4, if that's cheaper, and still download the T5 software. Works wonderful for me. You will be in a new world anyway - the closest to real air combat you could possibly get.

Carrick, if you need to get out and away, the SPAD XIII is the best crate to have. Next time you are low, and Germans above you, try to escape to the most free direction without climbing. When they chase you, fly zigzag as much as you can. At 8.000 feet, you would even have space to dive away fast and steep - another good point in the SPAD. You are flying a 200 hp craft - the fastes one out there. So, if you can evade their rounds long enough, you will leave them behind you as little dots. Now you could even climb and return, to fight them from above - if you wanted.

Widow: ...as we all know, if you see the enemy before he sees you, the battle is 75% won! Bordeauxred Baron: Really? Zen I can only vonder, how long it takes you olive drab boyz to get any furzzer viss us. Ant your "Death from above" - do you mean your often fallink onto ozzer people's headz vizz your shot up crate? Widow: But what sort of cowards are they?....Parachutes indeed!! Have you ever seen any one of us jump with a parachute? I haven't. I think, in real life, they got parachutes in mid (?) 1918. Udet once survived a crash into another craft by using a parachute, but I think they where still rare then, and often they didn't even work. Some German pilots died, cause the parachutes wouldn't open. (So much to our technological efficiency).

OvS, Winder, Pol and Team - if you should ever think of doing an alternative workshop panel in German, which the player could switch over to use, I offer you my help in getting all the words right. The same for in-sim German text like "Wetterbericht" (not: Wetterschriftsatz - that's wrong). Gremlin, thanks for the reminder. My problem is, I can't fight on too many fronts, if I want to be in our forum AND do some flying in my spare time. And if anyone starts there, he should come back there regularly. If there are German users here, who would help with it, I would be willing to answer questions in your "Wings of Honour" site, too; but not all alone. So: who would help OFF with that?

Rickity, you lucky man, your hangar is now full of wonderful SPADs, so I wish you a fast recreation in hospital, that you may soon be able to fly them all. If I was your mechanic, I must say I would be very upset about the close way you approach Hannovers and to come back with all those holes in these nice designs, Sir. Did Bruno Loerzer really fly off and away? That would be a great point in the AI, if it would understand, when it's time to escape - even for an ace. Be happy, that it wasn't me - I don't have such intelligence. -
Hi, Paarma Here seem to be the old green-mauve-green camos, and the Lozenge pattern on the front craft. Can you tell me, who's fighter the first one was - the one with the two colour bands around the fuselage?

Coordinationg Missions w/ Ace and Bomber Flights
Olham replied to Duce Lewis's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
I never use auto-trim, but trim the craft after take-off. And always nose slightly below horizon. No, my suspicion is rather, that the new air start option messed something up. Before that, I never had warp issues. -
CFS3 kriegt man für eine Zehner, und OFF hat den Preis im Mai gesenkt, steht in der Webseite. OFF bestellt man - siehe auch Webseite www.overflandersfields.com", kommt dann innerhalb 2 Wochen aus L.A. hier an. Download machen die prinzipiell nicht. Das Flugmodel ist sehr gut, und die K.I. macht echt gute Sachen. Hier sind noch 2 YouTube links, die ich ganz gut finde: Bei RoF gefällt mir die Landschaft überhaupt nicht; die ist in OFF sehr ansprechend. Ausserdem hat man in OFF von vorn herein mehr Flugzeuge und die meisten Jastas, Squadrons und Escadrilles zur Auswahl. Deutsche Seite: Fokker E.III, Halberstadt D.II, Albatros D.I, D.II, Albatros D.III, D.V, D.V (uprated), Albatros D.Va, D.Va 200, Fokker Dr.1, Pfalz D.IIIa, Fokker D.VII, Fokker D.VII F; ausserdem die 2-Sitzer Hannover C.I, C.II, D.F.W., Roland C.I, C.II Englische Seite: Bristol Scout, Airco DH-2, DH-4, Sopwith Pup, Sopwith Triplane, Nieuport 17 Lewis, S.E.5a, Sopwith Camel; ausserdem die 2-Sitzer BE2c, FE2b, R.E.8, Sopwith Strutter, Bristol F2b Fighter. Franzosen: Nieuport 11, Nieuport 17, SPAD VII, SPAD XIII Folgen sollen weitere Flugzeuge wie Nieuport 28, Fokker D.V / D.VIII, weitere 2-Sitzer etc. Die werden nicht kostenlos sein, aber darüber weiß ich noch nicht mehr. Aber bei RoF muß ich ja fast alles erstmal dazu kaufen; da kommt man ja auf ganz andere Summen.

Oh yes, Mighty - otherwise I would have gotten shot for one of them! When I shot down Göring (with great pleasure I sank him in the north sea, and he made a huge splash ), I was Didier de St. Malo, Esc.3, Bergues/Bierne, flying a SPAD XIII in September 1917. In the same sortie, I also downed Rudolf Klimke from Jasta 27. (The SPAD XIII is a pleasure to fly now!)
-
I see! This must be a great feeling for you, as it's what you always wanted them to do! Glad it works well. I saved you post text, so I can try it some day - right now I have two promising carreers to fly. Lt. Werner Mahlo is with Jasta 15 at Le Clos Ferme, in July 1917 (see "screenshots"). He is flying a D.V - a rather heavy Albatros, but the others fly it too, so it must be done. He has got 12 of 13 claims confirmed today (see "Semicolon, the claims killer") after only short waiting time; it always was that semicolon, that ruined my statistics. He also received two Iron Crosses. Lt. Karl Alfred Mahlo is with Jasta 40 at Wasquehal, 1. May 1918, flying a D.Va, which has a bit stronger engine, and 1.100 rounds (an good extra 100 is not bad!). He should soon receive some metal too, and some confirms, I hope. If one of them dies, I will start one in Jasta 4, to be there with you, and maybe help you out.
-
Would be Jasta Mahlo then, as my in-sim-name is mostly Mahlo. But only Boelcke received that honour, that a Jasta was named after him. Richthofen only got that in WW2, but not in his lifetime, as far as I know. Thanks a lot, Rickity! Yes, rekruitink for der Kaiser - buy OBD war bondz, ewrrybody!
-
In another thread, Ryan H wrote: I'm not sure if anyone has found a solution to this (or cares) but it's because of the semicolon key. If you use a semicolon in your report it thinks thats the end. Exactly, Ryan! I have started all new pilots, and since I didn't use semicolons, I can read the full claim text in the log again! And since I see the last word is "pending", I can hope now, to get some more confirmations in future. Thanks a lot, Ryan!
-
Thanks, Rickity, just had a rather basic meal - Erbsensuppe mit Speck und Würstchen. But it was delicious! Do you get the Blue Max with 20 victories, or more? Can't remember; I had it once, but that was in Phase 2.
-
Well, if it was the purple of the Purple Heart - why not? Perhaps you should show it here? We could tell you then, if it needs a touch in this or that direction.
-
Lt. Ryan, let me buy you a drink, mein Herr! You see it right - ze Dsherrman side is much more fun to fly! Our fighters are not of depressive greens or browns, butt painted most colourful ant individually! Ant you hav two gunzz on der most crates, no less! Maybe you are in a boring area or time there; what Jasta and time do you fly? I can recommend Jasta 10 or 28w, Wasquehal in May 1917, or MFJ 1 same time. But if you want real action, fly 1918 - but careful, it's crowded in the air! Bullethead, that is profound knowledge about two-seaters, thank you, Sir! Does it work well with your Fee squad, flying as fighter-bombers? Do they act wrong or self- destructive at times, or is it okay? And how did you do it?

Just had a sortie with some of the finest German aces, against French Escadrille 62 with aces, too. Here is a screenshot with Labels on, so you may be able to read the names. There were Heinrich Gontermann, Albert Haussmann, Richard Schleichardt, Kurt Monnington and Hans-Herrmann Budde on the German side; against Francois Coli, Paul Albert Pierre Tarascon, Charles Alfred Quette and Etienne Mougeot on the French side. There where 4 French SPAD VII and 2 Nieuport 17 versus 10 German Albatros D.V. While the French flight was completely downed, the German losses was one wingmen of A-flight only. I shot down Francois Coli, after getting hit myself so hard, that the enine crackled and the ailerons did not work well anymore. But I hit him fatally; and after that fight, I crawled home through Winder's very beautiful landscape. -

Yeah, I see, that makes sense. Keep them coming, BB! -
Yahooooo!!!!!! It works! For the first time in all my OFF campaigns I am getting a good amount of confirms! And only, because I didn't use semicolons anymore! I wished, someone had told me earlier - thanks again, Ryan H - you made it REAL BIG fun! Now I may be on my way to the "Blue Max", meine Herren!
