  1. Put the four wingman orders on buttons or keys, you can reach and use easy. The wingmen in OFF are not just decoration - they really follow your orders, and can be a great help. R: Return = the order to make them re-assemble, or to make them break off a fight H: Help = pressed once, it seems to call for your personal wingman (wing 1) only. He will stay near you most of the time anyway, if possible. When you press "Help", he will attack the enemy next to you. I had the impression, that, when I pressed "Help" more often, the other wingmen helped me too. S: Split = the order to make them take more distance to each other - useful, when your flight gets attacked from behind A: Attack = an order, you can use two ways. You can mark a target on your TAC - when you press "Attack" now, you will make them attack that single target. That also, when you do a ground attack: switch TAC to buildings or vehicles, mark one, and press Attack. If you don't mark any targets and press attack, they will attack enemies, which are so close, that they appear red in the TAC - probably the closest of them. (But careful - I used it sometimes to check, if enemies where near I hadn't seen. But when I flew low, they would suddenly attack ground targets.) Especially the Help button often saved my bum. The Attack button is also useful to make them attack the highest flying opponents (for their own sake) - you just mark the top one. A last note: take care of your wingmates, help them, if you can, and they'll help you. And you want to bring them back home with you - someone must be witness for your claims.

A dragon? If you see a dragon, it's over - you are in Walhalla then. You can enlist more than 15 pilots, if you like. I have six now, for the Halberstadt and all versions of the Albatros. But you can have a British, a French and an American too. And then you fly just what you feel like?
  3. Hi, Kingcat First: would you please tell me your hometown in Tennessee, so I can add you to our OFF Pilots map? Second: If you want hair-raising action, fly 1918. I had crazy furballs with 93rd Aero against Jasta 18s DVIIs. If you want it a little less crazy, as a German, start at Wasquehal in May 1917 (Jasta 10, Jasta 28w) - they see good action against Pups and Triplanes (but you have to be good, cause the Albatros DIII early is not superiour, except for the two machine guns the others don't have). With Jasta 6, you can fly the eary Fokker Dr.1 - a real devil of a turnfighter; you got to get used to it, as it's an "instabile" craft: it just does anything you do on the stick. If you know how to fly it well, you will be a "Reaper with three wings". Good action against Camels and S.E.5a guaranteed.
  4. Hey, Ryan - if that's true, you really helped me a lot! (Never read the old thread). I will try without semicolons and see if it works.
  5. That's interesting about the preserved parts with that Lozenge. Can you lead me to some colour pics of those? That would be great to see. Yes, leave her as she is - she's a Beauty in that dress.
  6. Fighting R.E.8s

I get more than 20 together with one pilot - but they never get confirmed! If I could attach bombs, I'd make a raid at HQ!!!
  7. Great video, UncleAl - heartwarming to see these old Ladies in best shape! And: Vera Lynn's song "We will meet again" is right now a top seller again! The Lady, meanwhile over 90 years old, was very surprised to hear - she's living in France now.
  8. TrackIR Profiles

I like this one: With a computer, you can solve problems you wouldn't have had without one.
  9. Here's a good one with both of the Ladies.
  10. Everyone would buy Spitfire T-Shirts. Here's to the Lady, that was less beautiful, but saved London from more bombs falling. In the shadow of the Spitfire - the real winner of the Battle of Britain.
  11. Fighting R.E.8s

Yes, Brisfits are FIGHTERS, and they can ruin your day - or your whole campaign. The "Quircks" on the other hand - I can hardly shoot at them poor bleeders. They are sitting there one behind the other like boys in school, or sinners in the church, and don't look back - get shot in the back. Nasty way to get the Blue Max...
  12. TrackIR Profiles

That's about right in my case.
  13. TrackIR Profiles

I see - I'll try that profile right now; thanks again.
  14. TrackIR Profiles

Thanks, von Paulus - I must be the most stupid user in front of a screen. If I flew like that... - well sometimes I do...
  15. OT First the iPhone...now this!

Widowmaker, I don't know know where you get all your funny bits, but you're definitely a true Englishman - humour above everything! Good one!
  16. Remorse and Air Combat

Yes, that is a great advice, Creaghorn. I will use that in future.
  17. Fast reflexes only make you nervous - I just fire, when the opponent is in my sight.
  18. fighting rolands

Here's my trick, how to "sit up" as a pilot of such crates: You duck deep down and press "re-center" for TrackIR; then you sit up straight and tall, and can possibly look over the nose. It's not false play, as the pilot might have been able to stretch up a bit, I think.
  19. First flight In BHAH

Well done, Leutnant Hobbit - to take on DH2s in a Halberstadt in your first sortie is quite something to get shaky hands from. Now you go to the mess, where the Feldwebel will give you a good Mass of Andechser - the best nutrition for human nerves. That will settle you again. In a couple of weeks we are promised a new fighter - the Albatros DI. It will have two machine guns! With that fighter, we will chase the whole Entente rubbish over the horizon. So promise me to last that long, alright?
  20. TrackIR Profiles

When I click on "CharveL", I just get a view of an XML file, but no way to download something. Did you copy and paste it into notepad or something, or how did you get it?
  21. Bullet, here comes the judgement: 1. she looks great - if she was a plane of later time. 2. the lightest blue is definitely too "neon", if you know what I mean. The pattern looks like a great piece of pop art to me, great choice of colours; but not yet a German night bomber Lozenge pattern. If you just tweak and tune that lightest blue and get it a little more 'broken' colour, she should be fine.
  22. Fighting R.E.8s

    I know, Zoomzoom, I know!
  23. Is that better or worse than bobbing bobcat ?
  24. Hahaha!!! Okay, the doctor is: here. Now, lay down on that comfy couch, and tell us: why do you think, that nobody likes you? (45 minutes = 90,- US dollars)
  25. Remorse and Air Combat

Well, Flyby - in reality it might not have been possible to leave the dogfight, if the 1. enemy fightergroup's task was exactly that: to keep you away from the bombers. That happened, and the greatest heroe can't be everywhere.
