  1. We can shake hands then, UncleAl - I'm not half-blind, but very stupid, and a "bobbing bobcat" too.
  2. Duck, could just be that those people had a lot of conversations, and had to make space?
  3. Okay, gents, here's a photo or two in this site. It's documents and photographs, and I haven't investigated further yet. http://images.google.de/imgres?imgurl=http://www.danielsww2.com/sitebuilder/images/scan01462-278x413.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.danielsww2.com/page14.html&usg=__6FvFUaCfQpXaKG1m0wRmwYV1hms=&h=413&w=278&sz=20&hl=de&start=17&tbnid=kkOQsihoIeUKfM:&tbnh=125&tbnw=84&prev=/images%3Fq%3Doskar%2Bursinus%26gbv%3D2%26hl%3Dde%26sa%3DG
  4. TrackIR Profiles

    Yes, pleeeeeze!
  5. Aah! Thanks, Dej and Widowmaker - I had the same problem; now I know!
  6. Remorse and Air Combat

I have just recently asked Creaghorn about such situations in a PM. Cause I never leave my wingmen alone and fight to the bitter end. His answer was pretty wise - he said, if you would fly this sim as if it could REALLY cost your life, you would act different. Or to put it different: if an idiot gives an idiotic order, you can follow the order and the other sheep, and die, or you would leave and have to have the inner strength to answer nasty questions later. The remorse is a strange feeling. I read that even people, who cancelled a flight short before takeoff, have bad feelings of remorse, when that plane then crashed - because everyone else is dead now.
  7. And here you will see a beautiful model built: http://media.photobucket.com/image/Gotha%20Ursinus%20UWD/alexbigey/aeroscale/4b068a23.jpg You're a man of taste, Hauksbee!
  8. Your craft must be the Gotha Ursinus UWD. Here is another link: http://www.aviastar....ny/a_gotha.html
  9. "Native resolution"

Von Paulus wrote: If you don't want distortion at 4:3 monitors these are the proper resolutions: 640×480 800×600 1024×768 1280×960 1600×1200 Where did you get this from? I'm running a resolution of 1280 x 1024 on a 4:3 monitor, and it seems fine to me. My FOV setting in "Workshop" are 25 : 20 Should that be wrong?
  10. Haven't seen Rooster round here for some time - does anyone know, if he is on holidays or anything else?
  11. Rooster, check the OFF pilots map. I haven't got your exact position? If not, send me a PM with your town please. Thanks! And good luck in the skies - have some crumpets for tea!
  12. OFF the Meat Grinder

Capt. T. 'Bones' Grinder: Welcome at the front, Deadangle You may understand, that we don't roll out red carpets here for newcomers. We won't even make friends with you, and we only remember your name for the duty board, and the case you fly with one of us. All that behaviour may change, in the unlikely case that you survive longer than 17 hours. You can write a letter home for the worst case - we'll send it there then. Dismissed! Hauptmann Wolf Hackepeter: willkommen an der Front! Vee can use ewry new man - if only to attract zee enemy pilotz, so vee can sneak up on zem. Ant try not too shoot more roundz zan zee enemy putz in your craft, Leutnant. Standink against no less zan 5 Nations, vee are a bit short off supply here. Got a bit pale now - vell, go too ze mess ant get yourself a good Mass of beer - vee are not short of zatt. Wegtreten! Capitaine Filet Haché: Bonjour, et velcome a votre chance de mourir un mort héroique! Olham: Hm, well, ah - the others have said it all, I think. So, welcome here, Deadangles! And give me your hometown and country please, for the OFF Pilots Map.
  13. Yes, both wings red would be my choice too.
  14. Claim submissions

I have the same problem with the claims: The log entry only shows a part of them, and they don't get even noticed. First I thought, they had to be kept shorter. But then I read other people's often very detailed claims, and so I don't know what is wrong here? But the other question: you can fill in more than 5 claims. Just put the Fees into one line, and the BE2c in another, and choose the number in front of the lines. Fill all your witnesses in above - that should do. But for our claims problem - could any of the devs help here?
  15. Flugmat Otto Schleirmacher

Willkommen an der Nordsee, Leutnant zur See Kurtz! It's good to know you near, and whenever MFJ-1 will be assigned to escort your recon patrols, I will try to make sure, I can lead one of the flights. Scrambles make as much or as little sense for two-seats, as they do for scouts. But I woudn't want to miss them, and I'm sure the devs added them in, cause they are wild, raw fun! If you like them. Hope to fly with and above you soon, Waldemar, and I promise, my boys would rather go down in flames than give you up.
  16. Leutnant Hahn*! Itz good to see you back! All ze boys really missed you, ant vee ssought, you vere dead. But now, ze Feldwebel in ze mess vill surely roll out ze barrels vizz Andechser Bräu, zatt vee were sent by der Kaiser for our great deeds ant courage. Zee Staffelführer, Hauptmann Grosskotz, may bee a bit annoied about you, cozz here Over Flanders Fields, an absence ALLvays only lasts 20 days, ant you escape; so he vill assume, you got lost somevere over Paris, I'm affraid. Butt venn he barks at you, close your ears ant ssink of zee good beer, zatt vill run ssrough your ssroat only minutez later! Baron von Mahlo (* German for Rooster)
  17. One of those, that make a DVII look better! I don't like the bulky looks of that crate, but she's a great amazone. Perhaps you can give her some more dresses that suit her fine?
  18. New Tags?

Damn, now I missed that - would have liked to know how they had rated me? Does anybody know?
  19. Yeah, those crumpets in their S.E.5a can ruin your day, Widowmaker, but you chose a crate in which you can turn the blade. Looking great! Have you also done the Keller skin?

Itifonhom: This sim is exactly as it should be, hard. I play with settings 140 DiD and I love it!!! So welcome again in the Masochist Club, Iti. One thing about "scrambles". When enemy craft where over the airfield, the Germans did not do 'scrambles', because that is almost certain death. Manfred von Richthofen said then: We will meet them again, under better conditions. I can't imagine, that the Allied acted differently there; so you must not fly scrambles; you can always go back in the briefing and click "advance time". Then you get another mission. That doesn't mean, that I never fly them. I sometimes LOVE scrambles. When I see, there are 12 Nieuport 17 over my field, and I stand ready with 6 - 8 Albatros DIII, then I can hardly wait to get airborne, to punch them. But under such conditions, I sometimes die. That's why I do this: at start, I press "pause" and mark a target with TAC, then I switch through outside views, until I see my opponents. I click through them and count them. And then I decide, if I break off (press "escape") or start. Nothing wrong with that, cause in reality, they would have got information like that from the frontline via telephone; also they had very good scissor scopes, to check who's coming for dinner. Also, I don't intrude far into enemy terrain as a German pilot, cause they didn't do that regularly. Such missions, I click "advance time", and see what comes next. Still though, I never lasted longer than 40 days so far. Make the best of it.

Iti, you have the right attitude, when you love it, although you get knocked out. You will get better after some time, believe me. If you have enough from the Eindecker, or get killed, try the Halberstadt, or even the Albatros DII. You will be surprised about the difference between all those craft from 1915 (wingwarper) to 1918 (200 PS SPAD XIII). You invested good in a long-time experience!
  22. Enjoy these pics from yesterdays Halberstadt sortie with Jasta 2 Bertincourt. Wasn't the other pilot in the pics Hasse Wind?
  23. Pfalz pilots

Jim, here is what Wikipedia has about Long Johns (there's nothing they don't have - even Long John Silver was in there - if you want to know who that was, please check yourself; can't present that here; ahem). Etymology of "Long Johns" According to Michael Quinion[/url], "John" may be a reference to boxer John L. Sullivan, who wore a similar looking garment in the ring. This explanation, however, is uncertain and the word's origin is ultimately unknown. Hasse, thanks for the beer! Yes, let's show that Richthofen some flying - he seems to be the 'hunter type', but could do with some aerobatic tricks. I shot down a Fee yesterday, as I wrote above; the pics qill be in "screenshots" in some minutes. Gute Jagd auch für Dich, Kamerad!
  24. Jammer28

Jammer's videos where the greatest, surely. But I haven't seen him for some time. Hope he will be back here soon.
