What I really wonder about, is the fact, that I have so many claims, and so little confirms. My pilots all have something like this: 27 claims, but only 5 confirms 35 claims, but only 9 confirms 17 claims, but only 3 confirms When I look into (game folder) > campaigns > campaign data > pilots > pilot claims I will find the earliest claims still pending with numbers of 73 or 68 or 86, and later claims being confirmed or rejected. Could some of you please check, if you find that too?

Your system should do fine, I'd say. Make sure any background programs are off. For configuration, go to "Workshop", "Graphics config" > "File" There is "Change display options"; set resolution there. There is also "Custom settings" ; set your sliders there (try 5, 5, 3, 4, 4, 3 there first, go higher if no stutters) There is also "Window" > and there then: "Overrides" and "Texture Info" To set those, check the thread "You want more eyecandy?" -

I wouldn't mind to have a 4 days break from Friday - Monday, cause my friends (always postponed) renovation works on the house he just bought will be over the weekend, and I wouldn't have a connection there. -

As I said - I don't know much of the military, even in German. Did you see my link in the above post, Lou? -

Sopwith Cuckoo T.1 Grant Newman, Museum of Flight, East Fortune Airfield, East Lothian, EH39 5LF The most influential type of aeroplane to serve at East Fortune in World War One was the Sopwith Cuckoo, the first aircraft carrier based torpedo-dropping aeroplane. In June 1918 the Admiralty sent the prototype of the Sopwith Cuckoo, the T.1to East Fortune for evaluation against the Blackburn Blackburd and Short Shirl for a torpedo-dropping aeroplane suitable for squadron service. The Cuckoo was the preferred type and was largely constructed by Blackburn at Brough in Yorkshire, who designed the depth setting mechanism for the torpedo slung under the fuselage. By July 1918, crews were being trained for a daring mission proposed by Admiral of the Fleet Sir David Beatty. The aircraft carrier HMS Argus would launch her Cuckoos against the German High Seas Fleet at anchor on the Jade River at Wilhelmshaven. To train the crews in torpedo bombing techniques, No.1 Torpedo Training School was set up, this was re-numbered 201 Training Squadron in August, the Fleet and Torpedo Pilot Finishing School was also formed but moved to Leuchars, near St. Andrews the following month. The Royal Air Force's first torpedo-dropping squadron, 185 Squadron was declared ready for service at East Fortune with the Cuckoo for operations from HMS Argus, but disbanded on April 14 1919. History has shown that the Great War ended before this risky operation went ahead, this mission was the model for the successful attack on the Italian fleet anchored in Taranto Harbour by aircraft carrier based Fairey Swordfish torpedo bombers on the night of November 11th 1940. The stream behind the torpedo is a red dye for tracing its track in the water -
Here is another picture with Festner on the left.

Bullethead and British_eh, it's good to know, that you two fly for my side. Sometimes I thought, there where only Cameljockey, Creaghorn, Hasse Wind and I. And you're right, Bullet - I literally shreddered two Tripes from RNAS-1 this afternoon, and still had a lot of ammo left. I feel very safe in a German craft.

I don't know, how they would have to be called in English; I just made a direct translation. MFJ means, as far as I know "Marine-Feldjagdstaffel", Marine means Navy, Feld (field) stands for land based operations, I'd say. Perhaps Shredward or OvS can clear that better - I don't have much military knowledge really. -

Yeah, those memories... I wouldn't want to do those army days again, but on the other hand, I wouldn't miss them. Here's asmall page about 4 Squadron: http://www.hmforces.co.uk/nfs/hmforces/attachment_images/0001/7028/DN-SD-01-04908_crop380w.JPEG%3F1249316259&imgrefurl=http://www.hmforces.co.uk/education/articles/1004-raf-training-groups-guide-4&usg=__ggoxNzvQEM2bjt4njq_J9vZEJVc=&h=250&w=380&sz=20&hl=de&start=7&tbnid=6zauI3j_Z3lbkM:&tbnh=81&tbnw=123&prev=/images%3Fq%3D4%2BSquadron%2BWW1%26gbv%3D2%26hl%3Dde%26sa%3DG -
Hey, a relative, who flew with the Red Baron! Sebastian Festner - I flew with him in Jasta 11. You made a good choice there: good aircraft, beautifully painted, and almost all of them have TWO guns! Have fun, and come round here more often, DIVEGUY.

"II. Seefliegerabteilung" would be "2nd division Naval Airmen" Thanks a lot, Lou - I will take some time to check the sites later. Perhaps I find even more? PS/Edit: I did - detailed sketches and plans/maps - I didn't know all this! http://seefliegerhorst.festungnorderney.de/html/kaiserzeit.html -

Maeran:...you could have eaten the top few ravioli cold to give enough space to stir. NOW you're telling me. Well, my way, I had three variations of Ravioli in one go. But that was a badly organised manoeuver. In another, I was given a driver, to drive to the Stabsbatallion, cause we couldn't get a proper connection. Out of the decrypter device came only letter salad (I found there, that the Staff Seargeant on the other radio had plugged the code settings of the previous day - he was SO glad I had come round to save him). Well, on the way back to my battery, we stopped at a butcher shop, and I bought cutlets for my three men and me. In the evening, I fried them in our radio Unimog van, with thyme and garlic. The pan to put on the Esbit cooker device, was so small, I could only do one cutlet at once. Now, it was striktly forbidden to cook inside that radio cabin, and it had to happen (must have smelled good), that our Captain opened the door, to see, if we had already received a fire order (crypted/decrypted order with lots of data). There he stood in olive green, helmet on, gas mask bag at his side, looking like fool, and I was sure, I was in for a punishment. But he sniffed and said: "What smells so good here?" I told him. "Can you do two more for me, too?" he asked. I said, yes, I could, if I had more. And so he sent a dispatch rider to the nearest town to bring some more cutlets; I ordered some Bratwurst in addition, and all turned out nicely. -
Bristol fighters flown by wizzards?

Good idea, Zoomzoom! And Hasse Wind could make a steep head-on attack. Perhaps Creaghorn would also join in. -

Aha!!! There!!! Do you see them?!? Wizzards!!!! Very nice, Zoomzoom - Gandalf and friend. You say, your engine was making the grinding sound, but flew well till the end of your mission? Perhaps that's what Pol meant, when he said, the sound is triggered in CFS3 - that it does not automatically mean, your engine is really damaged? That the Brisfit approach only triggers this every time you get near enough? -

Only looks like from a distance, Bullet - no, it is not yet solved. -
I wonder, if his remains will perhaps be found one day. What a sad fate...

I use an ATI RADEON X1900, and have messed around in the ATI Catalyst Center (in: 3D settings), without knowing, what the various things do. And now I have these lines cutting through the upper surface wing camo, and the iron crosses on the fuselage. Does anyone know how to get rid of that?
-
Sorry, Bullet, but you're wrong there. If each single shot down craft had an own witness line box, you would be right, but he can only write all his witnesses into that one line box above the claims. Then, you can decide, if you list each craft seperately in an own line box or if you click the number in the first box, and then fill all reports into one line. Use the first method, when you are not quite sure. You think, you might have downed 4 Nieuport 17, but you're not sure. So fill in four lines with one craft each. When you finished and click so, the claims report may ask you, if you want to proceed, but the claim was "erroneus". Now you erase the last line, and have 3 claims. When it says "erroneus" again, erase another, until it says: accepted. Later, you can read claims (or part of them) in the pilot's log; click "view claims".

Yes, Hauksbee - it reminds me of my army days. When we had a three day manoeuver, we lived from hard dried everlast-cakes and canned food. I remember the attempt to warm up a can of Ravioli in tomatoe sauce, on a very small Esbit cooker. I had no pot; the can is full, so you can't stir; and so the upper third layer of Ravioli was cold, the middle layer quite good, and the bottom layer was burnt. On a field base like in the picture, they could really make you wish to fly the next sortie - it couldn't get much worse anyway. -

There was a red Triplane in the Royal Flying Corps - that of Richard Minifie. I had to get him, of course, for infringement of copyright.
