Sorry for your first man to loose, Salty, but 30 hours is far more than the most of us ever achieve here. Will the replacement guy fly on from that very date? Cause, then it may still take some time, until you meet enemy craft. If you want more action, start in late summer 1916, near Douai.

Wow, Rickity - you should have brought some marshmallows on a stick with you! Bullet, you should keep the DFW skin, she looks beautiful; you can still make another, more accurate. Could you lead me to the water of Dan San's Naval camo paintings? I would like to get my MFJ1 craft better. -
What I'm really fed up with, is to be always outnumbered by the British fighters. Several times now, I encountered French flights (with Jasta 1, Vivaise, May 1917), which where less craft than ours. But EVERY damn time, I come across British craft, we are hugely outnumbered. And that, although I have put the density of my own flights on high, and so I have 5 - 7 wingmen with me. But when we approach a British flight, they are already six craft minimum, and as the fighting starts, there are always more coming in. Often, we fight three flights of 6 - that's 18 craft against our 6 - 8. I can't imagine, that this was the reality - even less, as I read, that it's the other way round for the British squads: they are hugely outnumbered by the Germans. I'd be glad, if it could be a mix of sometimes high, other times lower numbers of enemy craft. Also, it would be a nice change to sometimes find the enemy lower than yourself. Thanks for your attention.

Not really; there are several white ones in the skins. But I made her brighter and a little cleaner, cause on 1. September, we just got them. The I put the initials on the sides. I'll see that I think of sending her to you tomorrow, Jim. She is a good craft. Easy to fly, good climb, and turning is alright. Haven't met the Nupes yet though. -
Never ask for volunteers directly in army, navy or airforce, Stump! You should have written "Free beer!" instead.

My sliders don't have to be on two. They are: Aircraft 5, scenery detail 3, effects 3, clouds 1, rest 2. See in "Screenshots" how it looks. If you got new hardware, I can post screenshots from my "graphics settings", if you want.

What do you mean - a map for OLP? We have a map with the OFF Pilots, in the stickies. I have written some about the SPAD, and how great she is after the corrections on FM. It must be two, three pages back: "Flying the new SPAD" and "Fighting in the SPAD". Why should anyone want to remove your thread ???? You would have to say something really bad to make that happen; don't worry. That looks like Richard Widmark in your avatar. Great actor he was. Give me the town and country when you have the sim, okay, Roger?

Some pics of Leutnant Juergen Harms' second sortie today, the 1. September 1916. This time, he flew the white Halberstadt with his letters on - isn't she beautiful? -
Power supply is indeed to consider, as UncleAl mentioned. Zoomzoom, I have my air activity on "medium", and with that, I had incredible action with my SPAD in 1918. A normal scenario would be: Our two flights of 5-6 craft each, would run into three flights of 5-6 German craft. Sometimes they all join in, and then the name "furball" makes perfect sense.

Thinking of Buying Over Flanders Field
Olham replied to outfctrl's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
1.) THIS IS NO GAME! 2.) OFF will give you the best possible immersion on WW1 air combat. 3.) OFF can turn your old (and not very attractive CFS3) into a gold bar. 4.) If I was Mickeysoft, I would offer them devs a million for all the creation, and start a big sale of this sim. 5.) I'm afraid, the devs wouldn't sell it. No, I'm not afraid - I'm glad!!! 6.) I must go back to my Halberstadt - we have another sortie in a few minutes! -
Maybe just me, as I'm in the web with an old system (Win98): It all stutters and hesitates more for me. And how do I get to see a whole attached picture? I always get only a large excerpt with scroll bars?

Longevity (aircraft, not pilots...)
Olham replied to themightysrc's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
I can only guess (fighters): - Albatros DV versions - S.E.5a versions - Sopwith Camel - SPAD VII The Nieuports varied so often, that there was never a long time version, I think. Fighters, that should be added sooner or later: - Morane Parasol - Morane Saulnier N - Fokker DV and DVI - Roland DII - Nieuport 27 and 28 - Pfalz DXII - Siemens-Schuckert DI and DIII - Sopwith Snipe -
So what - are you a new OFF pilot? In that case: welcome in Flanders, Roger - and please send me a PM with your hometown and country, so I can add you in on the OFF Pilots map. If you're not yet: get the sim (you can't do anything wrong there!), and OFF yer go!
-
Well, I wouldn't say that - depends on the money he wants to invest. I'm running the sim fine on an E6550, 2,33 GHz; an ATI RADEON X1900; 2 GB RAM

Here is a benchmark comparison of vid cards from Tom's Hardware. Your card is already rather lower end, I'd say. http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/gaming-graphics-charts-q3-2008/Sum-of-FPS-Benchmarks-1280x1024,796.html You could look into the Tips & Tricks or FAQs - somewhere there was a screenshot of how to set up the graphic settings.

horowae, in the USA section, there are only the really American squads. If you want to fly the Escadrille Lafayette, you must create a pilot in the French section. You could still give him an American name.

Yes, indeed, it was! And we have sure learnt a lot about skinning. And of course the skin was great - didn't mean to make it down. Just was a sort of misunderstanding. Perhaps we will have another contest some day - when some new planes are out? Nupe 28; Sopwith Snipe; DVIII? Good night for now! -
Sorry, stump, I just had the incident, that somehow my pilots.uisl (or similar) was messed up, without me having done anything. I had just started TrackIR and sim like usual, but it said repeatedly, I had to reset CFS3 - and so my pilots where lost again. I'm not good with software, backups and re-installs; otherwise I would help here. I hope and wish you, that some more competent computer freaks here will offer their help. Your "onions" look very good, Sir!

Yes, if... But what had me irritated with the skinning contest, was rather that I had thought, we should create new skins. And then a totally normal, re-done skin wins. Didn't get that, to be honest. -
For all who can't fly OFF as often as they would like to: I could fly it more, as I'm self imployed, and would find enough time. But I find, that I make ever only 1 - 2 sorties a day, rarely ever three. Laugh about me, but I find them mentally exhausting. Some pilots, I fly full DiD, with Labels, Brackets and TAC switched off - flying only by the map and my eyesight. After one such mission, I'm really tired from 30-45 minutes full awareness.

Wow, a Russian Tripe?!? Just googled to find more about the "Wings of Horus" Camel, but didn't. That is definitely a very difficult design to make. I feel a bit exhausted, without knowing what from. I did an American SPAD, which is one page back; and now I'm thinking about a Marineflieger (Navy) Albatros with the Naval three colour Lozenge I saw from Bullethead's DFW-Design. But I haven't found any pics yet. -

Promised, Widowmaker. Here is a site for papermodels, where you can read more about the design "Wings of Horus". And a Belgian Camel (don't know how true it is). http://images.google...%3D306%26um%3D1 -

Here is a link to a model builder's site with such a colourful Camel. That's what I thought, Widowmaker - that yellow Camel should get skinned by you. It is absolutely as colourful as the German designs. Will you try it? -

Hey, Widow, nice to hear and see something from you. You may have these illustrations already, but worth a try. You may notice another swastika there. It is just a very old symbol, that was not created, but only used by the Nazis.
