  1. First I saw it the same way, Duce. The coming plane (1) is in the background. When it makes the turn, it turns to the left, towards the foreground.
  2. Armed Recon of lines

To avoid a Flak hit, you should fly like a drunk walks home. The guys on the ground then can't fire at spots where you will be next seconds - cause you will be somewhere else. Worked fine for me so far - no Flak death since a long time. So you fly from Roucourt. I have a pilot there with Jasta 12, July 1917. And today, my pilot with Jasta 1, Vivaise, May 1917, had to escort three DFW reconnaisance craft. Two flight of 4 Nupesm each tried to sneak up on us, but my flight shreddered one of their flights with no own losses; and flight 1 finished the other. Our DFW returned home safe and sound.
  3. American Campaign...

Great news, Shredward! Time doesn't matter there, as long as we know it will come. We have craft enough, we haven't experienced yet, I think. And now we have something to look forward to as well.
  4. OFF Forum Pilots Maps

Update 08 / 25 / 09 23:06 Berlin time Underdog, Missouri, added. outfctrl, Florida, added. OLD NAVY, Pensylvania, added. tone12, Scotland, added. the maps are in post #1 of this thread
  5. The manoeuvre is (I hope) called "High turn", the French call it "Chandelle" (candle).
  6. Haha! So we are all under stress, eyh? Lou, you might be lucky to find "Dunkin' Donuts" in Paris, but not the really good ones I saw in the series "Twin Peaks" many years ago. They prefer Crepes in France. (Hmm - very good stuff).
  7. Booooooom!!!!!!! Eric posted that many people complained about the "new look" of the forum... Booooooom!!!!!!! ...although it is only a temporary look, until the real thing/work is done. So keep your hands still, everybody... Booooooom!!!!!!! ...and be glad we can communicate - it will soon be... Booooooom!!!!!!! ...done. Of course, there will still be people complaining - never read it all. We just live in the age of information overkill. Booooooom!!!!!!!
  8. Forum Request to consider

Good idea, but the space for stickies is pretty limited for OvS. But you could always place them in the "Reports from the front" sticky.
  9. Armed Recon of lines

You seem to see really good action, and I'd like to ask you again, where and when you fly? A recommendation: there is a sticky thread for "Reports from the front" - if you place them in there, they will remain longer for all to read.
  10. Absolutely right, Unc - arhm, Rickity!
  11. American Campaign...

Don't worry, Duke, Sandbagger is doing his craft for OBD, and so it will be fully integrated, once it is ready. I am also looking forward to it, cause I guess, that it was a much underrated craft with wing problems early on, which got solved, but by then, they had already decided for other craft. My Albatros DIII and DV versions also show a weakness in the lower wings, but once you learnt what to avoid, they are still very good fighters. I believe, the same could be said about the N 28.
  12. FLAMEING ONIONS BETA 3 CLIP

Wow, very nice, stumpjumper! Sorry, I missed the very beginning of this, so: - who used this weapon? - how did it work? - will it cause damage in our sim, if we put it in?
  13. Tch! Did you get it by now? The "devel boys" have become junkies like us. We can't spend a day without flying OFF - they can't stop tweaking it. Pol and Winder - when you tell us next time, you're going to have a break for holidays - no one will believe you.
  14. SuperPatch Medals change?

No, Hellshade, there has been the Order of the House of Hohenzollern before. Shame is, I only know it from someone else's posts - never got more than three Iron Crosses.
  15. Great reads, Dej, Lou and Jim! Where the focus of interest centers... Lou, if you should ever come to Paris, ask for the big flea markets. And ask for the one for techical parts and devices (from old cars mainly, but maybe also aircraft). It was in a hall or even two - an El Dorado for oldtimer freaks.
  16. BH: Ohlam just wants to see the front because he was my consultant on the nose color and what you see is his idea. Herr Bullethead is hiding his light under a bushel. Black nose with white spinner was his idea for one version early on. I only disliked a green nose version, and suggested a ring for the white, so the tip would be black again. Bullet, when you make a Marineflieger-Albatros, I'll be the first to shout "Here!" Oh, and it's "Olham", not Ohlam" (my familiy name Mahlo backwards). Rickity, what game controller do you use? Maybe I should get me one at Ebay. Sounds good. Your dogfight with two of my skins was a good idea. I never had the idea of doing that. RedDog - I wish you more luck with the "Chien Rouge" this time. Oh, isn't it alomst too much fun we have with OFF, the forum, and the skinning, boys?
  17. Haven't Received OFF yet!

Apple is not a bad comparison, Steve! They do things with style and care a lot about the functionality, the quality and the progress to be avant garde. OFF IS AVANT GARDE - it will slowly, but surely attract everyone interested in WW1 air combat sims. My strongest belief.
  18. Awaiting arrival

Perhaps you try Jasta 1 then; they get the Halberstadt as early as August 1916. Cause, the Fokker is okay to try, but no match to the Nieuport 11. And Jasta 2 will get the Albatros DI in September 1916 - very attractive!
  19. Archie

Since the E-Patch, you can adjust the Flak fire seperately in workshop now. But it's never a good idea, to "pope" over the lines, when no one ordered it, Carrick. I mean, after all, it's hard enough as it is, right?
  20. Show the front too, please! She's looking elegant somehow in her sea robe. I did a campaign start with her today, and switched over for rear gunner, when 8 Pups appeared. But our 5 Albatros DIII fearlessly went into battle and drove them away. So I didn't fire a single shot. But I found the controll for the observer a bit limited. I could only turn with the gun, no TrackIR, and aiming with the joystick would be nasty. Any other ideas, anyone?
  21. trackIR question

You can choose any profile - just stick the TIR in, start it, and it will take over.
  22. Haven't Received OFF yet!

Hey, you newbies - have I got you on the map yet?!? If not, send me a PM with hometown and country, and I'll add you there. Dismissed!
  23. Century of Flight Website

Thanks for sharing, Duce! Must check more intesive later.
  24. RedDog, does this picture tell us the sad story: the "Fantome" has crashed? The French put it the other way round : for "Red Dog" they say "Chien Rouge"
  25. A DIFFERENT 2 SEATER

Bullet, this is a beauty of a German Bomber you "skinned" there - I want one, when it's ready! And thanks for the info on the bombing sight.
