hoongadoonga, when you come out of warp, they are mostly further up, sometimes a bit off the course left or right. That's why I exit warp mode short after getting on the route (by pressing Ctrl. + X). Now I have time to climb up to their altitude, before we meet the enemy. If you can't reach them, stay at least as close as possible, cause your help might be needed, when they get jumped on.

Mack, welcome back! And there is a mini-patch to the Super-Patch, that should make it run even smoother. Gee, can't wait 'till tomorrow. British_eh has made a mission for me in my Alnatros, and I didn't have any time today. (Hope I will be able to sleep? Lol!) Yes, Jim, life can be so good!

Hi, Jim Thanks for all the details. You must be right there - anything else wouldn't make sense really. Now, Schobinger didn't directly say, he walked west. Schobinger worked on the book with the author, Michael Schmeelke (there's even a photo of both men, taken in 1986. Schobinger died three years later). And in the book is this photograph, that you show above. The text next to it reads: Aerial photograph of Roucourt castle; the airfield of Jasta 12 was left of the bordering forrest in the upper picture part. I can only assume, that some things have been exchanged between the two men via telephone, and that Schobinger thought, they talk about the airfield location in relationship to the forrest as seen from the airfield, looking towards the castle. Jim, if you want that book, I can try to get it for you. You could pay book and shipping via PayPal, if you use it, as I do. Send me a PM, if you want me to care for that. Thanks again for all.

Huh! I have thought exactly that all the time! :patsak:  :dirol:

The OFF Campaign PND Standard

Disadvantage at warp is mostly the altitude. I come out lower than my other flight, and much lower than all opponents. Now I use Pol's advice: exit warp earlier by pressing Ctrl. + X When you want to warp further, do it again. But I am glad when I exit warp on half the way to the first real waypoint. Then I climb up to my comrades, and fly the rest unwarped. -
Next time, I'll order my wings to attack them, and then, when they are busy, dive into the attack to clobber one. (Although I think, I know it won't work any better - Lol!) They are defenseless, when you come from high head on. But you rarely ever get them into this position.

Those pics are really good, and the reactions I read where positive. I'm sure, a project like OFF needs time to get known, but if you devs keep up working on it, it will be famous after a while or two.

Here's a German form I just made. If anyone wants it in English, I could do that.

You're right, John, didn't enlarge it. -
SUPERPATCH 1.32 is now available!

No, Jim, "bug" in computers is also called "bug" in Germany. I wonder this is still happening with the crashing wingmen at start? -
Jim, could you post the link to them - I wasn't there a long time, and can't find it.

Winder, Pol, and everyone building new things: When do you ever take a rest? I mean, you have just given us this Super-Patch, and now I would like to explore it. There is no need for pushing, and coming up with more planes so soon. We know you will add them, when they are ready. No hurry. This ain't Fomula 1.

Always used a notebook, but now I will try this very good method, HomeBoy. With a loose-leaf and a hole puncher, you can make it a pilot's log. Great! Thanks a lot!

I don't get depressed, but too angry. As they circle and fly waves all the time to get the rear gunner in best position, I've given up to approach a weak spot. You can't sneak under their belly, as they move like hell all the time. So when they perform a left or right curve, I attack pulling into that curve and fire at the rear gunner/pilot/engine area like hell. I have by now downed about 7 of them - but always with the loss of my DIII engine. My mechanics are always mad about Brisfit engagements.

Ah, the proof that they DO burn sometimes. (But had it to be an Albatros, RedDog? Sob!) -
Calm down a bit, salty - it will need some time anyway, until you will last longer than just 2 hours. Best to read the FAQs and the Tips in the sticky, for some advice and hints.

If I hadn't used TAC and Labels here, the leading FE2b would have escaped me for sure. I had shot two of his colleagues down already, when he turned a little and ran for a big white cloud. I entered the cloud some 500 feet lower than him, and only managed to fly level by using the horizon instrument. But when I came out of the cloud - no Fee above me! I turned, looked up and down, but he wasn't visible. Only on TAC, I saw his spec. He had turned round in the cloud and left it the same side he entered it. Clever (well, he was an ace, as I saw by the name)! But, although my Mercedes DIII engine was hit once again (clickclack!), I shot enough long range hits into the crate to slow it down. And then I got him (sorry, Bullethead, no happy end).

Fee almost escaped me in a huge cloud

Would be a great addition to a later version - the Lufbery Circle. That would demand a totally different attack on them! -
Ahh, that's why my mind is slipping more and more!

Winder, one little thing you may still be able to change: The wheather report is not "Wetterschriftsatz" in German, but "Wetterbericht". Also possible: "Wettermeldung"

Must have felt like your burial scene in a German U-Boot.

Belly up to the bar boys!

You get them announced in the briefing room - but on their historical time of death. -
Are you flying "Between Heaven and Hell", Kamikaze?

argh, Winder, you spoiled it. I was just about to say: No, it's the refrigerator from our Albatros - we prefer our beer cold.
