Hasse Wind: Maybe there could a military band playing when you leave and then later come back from the patrol? Keep dreamin' ! I had the olde sims "Wings of Glory", "Dawn Patrol" and - best of all - "Flying Corps Gold".
-
Yes, it feels so real now, I am quite tense through flights over the lines. But why do you fly in that bad wheather, Hasse Wind? I have now four good pilots, all flying in May or June 1917 - I had enough of the rainy grey. And it feels wonderful!
-
Welcome to the club, British_eh I only found out some 14 days ago, when I started the "outnumbered" poll. Before, I had always thought, flight 1 had a different task (and I still believe, they sometimes do at least fly another path). But since I fly with flight1, my chances became much better.
-
Long time memories: a group of American Mustang pilots returned from a flight over Germany, when they encountered a British group of Hawker Tempest (or was it Typhoons?). That craft was still rather new then and looked a bit like a Focke Wulf from certain angles. So, the Americans attacked them. It is really hard to identify another craft mid-air, when you can't see the markings, isn't it?
-
Thank you, British_eh! Now I should get there. Unfortunately I can't fly before the evening. I'm really keen on your Albatros mission. Bullethead: "Giovanni" is my local Italian (best Spaghetti Vongole!) - but how did HE get into this? (Lol!)
-
I hoped, this would attract you. All of you, who are not in the OFF Pilots Maps yet, would you send me a PM (click on my name, click "send private message"), with your hometown and country / state, please? I will add your avatar name in the right position then. Oh, and the free beer: I only fooled you to get your attention. You better get used to that - we are in world war one !
-
I fooled you. You tried to fool me. Quit pro quo. How could you be a newbie, Hasse Wind, when you have made more than 17 hours on a Pfalz DIIIa? Nice try, that...
-
Luftace, there is a certain danger in having sim people acting the same things again and again: they become boring after short time. I believe, that some of the best part of the immersion has to be created by your own phantasy. In older sims, you had a commander's room, where you got your mission. Nice idea first, but after a while, I thought: come on, get through with it - I wanna fly. But maybe some ground crew standing by the hangars and tents would work.
-
I'm sure they want that as much as everybody else, Lou. Would be really great.
-
Was meant to be joking, Winder. And you're right - people only ever read half. Now that I fly with flight 1, it works very well for me.
-
Wow - you guys are faster than the police allows...
-
Did anyone see a Camel to MvR's below right?
-
No Albatros this time, but the Pfalz DIIIa, that I showed in the other thread about Pfalzes - the Bavarian design. Your skin is also looking good - which one did you pick? To lead in a Pfalz flight isn't grateful - often the best you can do is dive out and away. But I'm working on a tactic of diving out fast, and then climbing back up to good altitude, to attack again. (So far with little success - opponents could follow much better than I expected - Lol!)
-
What took you so long, Fawlty? Welcome to the 'real' thing! Phase 2 is not really what you will get now - it will be much tougher. This ain't no game anymore - this is pretty realistic. I hope you'll like it as much as I do. I have put your name into the OFF Pilots map, okay?

It's alright to be historically correct, Winder. I think, everyone would agree there. It's just hard for Bullethead to see, how the crews suffer, when they could do much better. And I feel the same, when I shoot them down. Poor bleeders. Right, BirdDog, it was Goethe's "Goetz von Berlichingen". He said more or less: Sag Deinem Herrn, er kann mich mal am Arsche lecken!" (Tell your Lord, he may lick my a**!) As an expression of how much he thought of him. Carrick, what do Vietnamese dry cleaners know about Europen culture. They didn't even show up in world war one! The iron hand is right, Barkhorn - poet - I'm not so sure. -
Exactly, OvS. I've given up collecting trophies, cause they all have the same camelsh*t green and don't harmonise with my wallpaper. Mmuahahahaa!!! Oh, and Iscin: you have not bought a GAME - but you will soon learn that. Mmuahahahahaaa!!!

He vill not forget you! Mmuahahahahaaa!!! -
Me too, British_eh, me too!

Huh? Richthofen was taken out by a Camel? I thought, the Aussie machine gunner is almost certain now. Welcome, Iscin Depending on where you live, the delivery can be up to two weeks (from America to Berlin that was). Perhaps you will also try the German fighters? The Albatros is a good overall fighter between energy fighter and turn fighter. The Dr.1 is the most agile craft - a real turn devil. And almost all have two guns standard. And the best of all - much nicer and individually painted (we have a helluvalot of great skins on board, plus the download sector with skins designed by simmers (like me) for you to use. To abridge the waiting time, you should read the Tips sticky thread, and the FAQ on www.overflandersfields.com All the best!

A tip for desktop shots: First press "pause", then click off the instruments, TAC, Labels etc. Now you can go to outside view and choose the best angle. You may even mark another craft (need TAC for that, you can click it off after marking) and click through outside views with F4, until you see the scene from that craft. That way you'll get a good picture like real. -
As not much posting happens here today, I assume, you are all flying like mad. So did I all evening. Stay aloft, everybody!

Difficult to translate, as it's an unfinished sentence after Goetz von Berlichingen. "You can (kiss) my (bum) !" so to say - more or less. -
Hey - what skin do you fly there, Oblt. Geschosskopf ? 78b ? We're in the same Squadron, Bull... arhm, Herr Geschosskopf!!
