  1. Lack of Moral Fibre !

Maxiku, remember, the guys in home defense aren't the youngest lads. They wear glasses (and maybe even surgical stockings), and they where told to shoot at anything coming across the Channel.
  2. Sound level settings

What does the lowest point in the sound settings mean (I/F... something) ?
  3. I believe it, Bullet. If they'd help each other, and even attack, I would not get them so easily. I know what you mean, and how you feel, as the old Fee Captain.
  4. OFF Forum Pilots Maps

Update 08/10/09 23:58 Berlin time Maxiku, England, added. saltysplash, England, added. The maps are in post 1 of this thread
  5. Yes, I only use it now for trying out all the new stuff. Normally I fly 'Full DiD', which will be very tough now.
  6. Beer thread!

Schlenkerla? In Finland??? I wouldn't even know where I could get it here in our capital? But that's logical somehow - in the wilderness, everything concentrates on a much smaller area: the local store.
  7. EV/DVIII

E.V ? DVIII ??? Where do you see those???? Did I miss something??????
  8. A thunderstorm of Flak over Lagnicourt field ended the lives of this Fee crew. The Strutter was shot down by me, flying a Halberstadt.
  9. Beer thread!

Tried to order some via internet? Nowadays, almost everything can be bought that way.
  10. Just made my second flight with the new patch. I wanted to see if anything had changed in 1916, and so I entered Jasta 2, Bertincourt, two weeks before they get the Albatros DI. Our two flights where to patrol the front lines. Aces of flight one (Boelke, Hohne, Bohme and Reimann) flew the new Albatros DI, the rest of us Halberstadt. Right after takeoff, I spotted a flight of 3 sandcoloured BE2c from RFC-4, approaching the lines. I climbed for them (tough in a Halberstadt, when you're used to Albatros), but wouldn't have reached them, if they wouldn't have changed their course. While I climbed nearer, I saw a flight of Eindeckers nearby, but they had other duties. I ordered my men to attack another BE2c, and started my own attack. And now I heard a sharp whistling. Thought something on my engine, until I realised, those Limeys had a bombing mission. Switched to outside view, and really: below me an orange explosion! Checking around, I saw another British flight coming nearer. Switching through outside target views showed me Fees. Also, some Albatros arrived. The TAC was full of specks, and the sky was freckled with Flak puffs. My goodness, what an action here! With several good burst I got my BE2c smoking, had a gun jam, got it cleared after a while, and fired more into the handicapped crate. My ammo was out (only 500 rounds in a Halberstadt), but my BE2c descended until it crashed west of Bapaume field. My men had shot up another of them. Wow, this was great action; and the thunder of artillery and Flak around me made it even more thrilling! And that was only 1916! Can we dare to fly in 1918 at all? A Super-Patch, boys - thank you all a lot!! But enough for now - must climb back into my cockpit!
  11. Now I had a second Halberstadt mission. As guns on "accurate" still wouldn't get much damage done, I switched "player guns only" on "strong" - with the effect, that I shot two Strutters and one FE2b literally to pieces. Could there be a change made in some future patch - guns on "accurate" a bit stronger? Cause I don't want to fly with guns on "strong", but without it doesn't do the damage you would expect? This flight, I engaged two flights (Strutters and FE2b), when they made a bombing raid on an army camp. They went into a dive attack - never seen that before. Unfortunately, I had to interrupt them.
  12. Flying by the seat of your pants

OvS, remember his picture in our "cockpits-thread" - he has all the medication there he needs. Lol!
  13. Fortiesboy - I believe to have noticed on myself, that I thought things had changed, which had not. I hope you give it more tries / more time. I don't find the landscape has become 'artificial' - the colouring hasn't changed much, I see more detail like heaps of gras, or rows of crop or cornstalks. Perhaps you give it another try, when you feel you have more time (weekend?).
  14. Need Pfalz Tips

I'll fly my Pfalz pilot more now, to be able to exchange experience with you. The bouncing off at landing can be prevented, when you come in like I do: I come in with nose down and a lot of speed. In the last moment I level out and touch down still fast. Only when she's running on her wheels, I cut the engine. But it's something you must feel - cause earlier on, I touched down too hard and broke the gear on such a landing. PS: from flying the SPAD XIII, I assume, both crates can turn fine, when you dive into the turn, so you gain more speed?
  15. Flying by the seat of your pants

A rumble seat? You're kidding! What happens, if you press three times "o" ?
  16. You wonder, why you hear terrible artillery noise all the time? Perhaps you had no idea, what calibres they used in the first world war? Here are two German guns. "LANGER MAX" (right picture) Calibre: 38 cm (14,96 inch) Range: 48 km "DICKE BERTA" Calibre: 42 cm (16,53 inch) (This is for our "big gun" fan UncleAl, and for Bullethead.)
  17. Yes, Widow, I remember my 1973 motorbike trip in England very well. But we where lucky - from 14 days, ONLY four days of nasty rain. Makes one wonder you have such a great humour. On the other hand - it's a pretty black one. Lol!
  18. hat switch views

One key on TrackIR is "precision" - when you press that (I have it on my thumb button), it appears as if your body and neck stiffen up; you can't move quickly anymore, but can shoot better. Don't forget to release it, when you want to check your six. The shooting with TrackIR on is mostly a problem with the very agile aircraft like the Dr.1 - in my Albatros, it works fine.
  19. Hey, Siggi, you may want to make a decision - are you a camper or a pilot?
  20. And before anyone thinks, big guns are a "great thing", you may watch this video. But let me warn you - it is very disturbing.
  21. ...ratteling the tea cups.
  22. Excessive Cannon Fire...HELP!

Lou, now you know why they called it "Stahlgewitter" (Thunderstorm of Steel).
  23. That happens mostly with good or even elite Jastas to me, and only from the other flight. My flight follows my orders. When I assign "return", they queue up without attacking. If they should not follow that order, I would shoot them down - and they know that.
  24. Rabu, I wouldn't expect wind to be heard, while engine is on (but you should ask Womenfly2 - if you find her). But I have often had to land my Albatros with engine out (Brisfits prefer to shoot into my Mercedes inline). And then you hear the wind streaking over the canvas - try it.
  25. Lou, I don't find vulching in my lexicoen. Do you mean "acting like vultures" (stealing your prey)?
