  1. Tough going

Yep, RNAS - when I started with the Albatros DIII, I thought: Good grief - what was this craft so famous for? I was always stalling in turns. And now I turn on a plate and get into the Nupe's turns! And when you got that far - believe me - you will feel you deserved this, you worked it out! Don't give up, old chap - and stay aloft!
  2. Didn't you mix it up, Snoopy? The planes in Flyboys move unbelievable - most flying scenes in Red Baron where pretty good (except that steep Albatros dive - that was b******t). And with "Von Richthofen and Brown, I'm afraid you'll remain lonely here. I saw it in the seventies, but have forgotten, how it was. Most here didn't like it.
  3. Have you tried to click "advance time" in briefing? Try that, and advance it so often, until the day changes. That should help.
  4. "Certainly not you!" is about right. Also: "But not you!" perhaps. The meaning is to say to someone else, that he would almost be the last one to ever beat you. Hope that's understandable. PS: Also possible: "You? NEVER!"

Paarma, indeed: great job! I'm really looking forward to the next step!
  6. Ok..Whats going on with the DR1?

Then there is definitely something wrong.
  7. Tough going

RNAS - the Bristol fighter is in my opinion one of the most dangerous craft in here.
  8. Tough going

RNAS_Flyer - when I came over from Phase 2 to BHaH, I thought 'Hell - this is too tough; so much more difficult. And it is more difficult; fortunately. I mean, be honest: in Phase 2 it often was a turkey shooting, the way the AI flew about and around. Now, they do fight. That's how it should be. I got my DVD in February, and now, during June, I became really good. Just had a scramble in my Albatros, where I downed SEVEN Nieuport 17. Do you think, I could have done so in the real war? I don't. So it is definitely not too hard. Learn to know your craft; forget about quick success; become an ace slowly but surely! Oh, and what is REALLY hard - from the 7 victories I just made, the claim form said "erroneus", until I had it cut down to 2 ! Seems, after that, all my wings where dead already. THAT is hard!
  9. Damn and Blast!

Geeze, Widow - we better not tell, what you're doing jobwise, eyh? But what do I say? I have an 80 GB external backup drive - and haven't saved any of those things! Must do that now - thanks for the reminder!

  11. Yes, it only works for me, when I turn the sound off. The read, with the acting, is funny!
  12. Hows about a lift?

If anyone likes to have a deeper insight in the development of this outstanding pilot, there is a series of several parts on YouTube: "Udet - The Flyer" Here is part 1 - the rest will be shown in the side frame choice. Like Guynemer, he had the only strong desire: to fly. And like a child, he acted partly naive, partly ignorant, to achieve that. But seeing the time he lived in, I think: who am I to judge about him. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WxXrkBiVE1c...feature=related
  13. Gunnery

Not to mention the rhymes, Bullet! Hairraising, to make such stuff into little poems...
  14. Hows about a lift?

Let Udet perform - and then we all can see, that we may still have to learn a bit more... Ther's more at YouTube - just type "Udet" into the search box.
  15. Gunnery

BuB - the "review" option is in "Campaign". After a flight, you can click it and read all about who shot at who how many round at which speed and altitude etc. The accuracy for QC: you start your QC from Workshop. When you get to field, you can chose craft and situation and wheather in that menue at the left (click at "misiion" or similar). In that same left frame, you can see accuracy and more after the flight.
  16. "Spot View" Command

I think it's "scroll/snap view (toggle)". There is a toggle command to change between the two. I used that, when I had no TrackIR. I flew with "glide view (scroll view), but when it came to combat, I changed for "Spot view (snap view)". Try it.
  17. To easy?

One thought, Ryan, that Winder could confirm or wipe off: If your slider settings challenge your system too much (clouds on 5, for example), couldn't it be, that AI performs less then? Perhaps you try clouds, scenery and terrain on 3, for a check? Just a thought - the devs can tell.
  18. Thank you all again. Maybe that video is an Anti-Hitler-shadow remedy. Watched it again, and the laughing came easier this time. There's hope!
  19. DerMo, try the Aerodrome - lots of 'historians' there, and collectors of pics.

  21. To easy?

Maybe you're just an ace, eyh? Flown other WW1 sims much? At least a veteran then?
  22. waited since 1983

Welcome, Jimgad - nice, and true words you wrote! And as you are an OFF Pilot now, please PM me your hometown and country/state, so that I can fit you into the "OFF Pilots Planet" map.
  23. He must have been a really convincing and charismatic personality Yes, I think, everyone who met him said that - must have been a very strong appearance. My mother, who heard him in the radio as a girl of 10 years, and only seeing pictures of him in schoolbooks, thought of him as a great over-father. When all had gone down in ashes, a world collapsed for her.
  24. Awards system

Hey - does that work with those special letters? Does everyone in England and America see those letters with dots upon, or do you get strange replacements?
