Wow - she sure looks beautiful! Maybe hard to shoot holes in her, really. Not that far away from an N 28, it seems (hint! hint!)
  2. Right, Rickity - and if you are fed up with winter: you can enlist more than 10 pilots. Why not have another in summer?
  3. Reminds me of bashing a wasp with a newspaper, when I was a kid. Next moment, when I saw it being convulsive with pain, I felt sorry, and tried to carry it out to the garden. Guess what happened next.
  4. Hauksbee - the instrument will be available on every craft, looking the same. You can make them smaller, but I forgot, how; maybe it's in Uncle's thread "Tipps & Cheats". Also can you click and hold them, and move them elsewhere. And you can switch on so many only, as you want, by the numbers. Have fun, and stay aloft.
  5. A little reminder

One of the differences between man and animal is the ability to sit down and think about our actions, before we act. Another is, that we don't use it. (Lol!) That's the point, where the moderator comes in. For the sake of the whole community. I think, no one must feel bad yet; actions where taken at the right time. And yes, Rickity - it was all your fault, mistaking Pol for Ringo!

Full rudder left in both turns, left and right. WomenFly2 had a great video shown here, where a physician explains the immense torque of the Camel's engine. He demonstrated it on a rotating steel mechanism, and the effects on the various rudder actions was sometimes incredibly strange and unexpected. If someone remembers the video, please post it again.
  7. Just had a flight, where you sometimes could hardly see the wing flying closest to you. And twice, the last wingman got lost in the towering washkitchen clouds. But you can collect them - once their label turns blue, pressing "R"-Return really makes him join back to the flight. A good sight, when they're all behind you. Apart from that, nothing much happened - the 'crumpets' must have been hiding behind their teapots. Normally, I hate flying in such wheather, as we have bad wheather enough in Germany. But the last days, it was very warm and humid - so this seemed refreshing.
  8. Today's flights: 1. flight - washhouse wheather; no enemies found 2. flight - shot to pieces by Tripes in the relationship 1:3 3. flight - lower wing broke when following a Nupe 17, doing the same as her (but her's didn't break!) 4. flight - lower wing etc. (as 3. flight) Boy, am I upset!!! Now here are only left over pics from yesterday.
  9. Don't know, if it helps and works here too, but: when I met a Russian craft in IL2, that was slower than me, but climbed much better than my Bf 109 G6, then I did the "staircase" - flying straight forward, I caught up with him, then the first "stair step"; then gain speed and catch up again, then the second "stair step" and so on. I always got them in the end. You could try it the other way round - do a slight descend, to gain more speed than him. When you reached him, pull her up short, to get to his level, then repeat that procedure.
  10. Defintely great support and care here.

Catch 22 was one of the weirdest movies I've seen in the 70s. Had gone in there to see all those "Mitchel" bombers, and really, the intro scene was great: all dark, you hear early birds singing. Then, you realise a change in the black - a zagged horizon, mountains, and behind them it's getting blue; the birds they suddenly stop singing, as if they knew the time already - and then some 12 or 14 engines are getting started. You see them from head on - a tele shot - how they all lift off, swaying left and right. Two officers (Martin Balsam?) walk along the runway discussing a deal about parachute silk for eggs, whilst one bomber returns with one engine smoking darkly. As it approaches the runway, they talk on without looking. Then you see the bomber in the background, crashing into a tank van, all going up in flames - whilst the officers confirm the new deal, and split, still without taking any notice... I tend to get carried away when I describe films, I know. Very strange movie - but fascinating somehow.
  12. To my American Friends

Hey, CJ - the Village People reunion on 4th of July?
  13. Aircfaft Stress Resistance

Condor - it's not the DII. It's the DIII and the DV models. Winder - I understand, that the AI would never suffer from these problems? Then it must be accepted as it is, as I think, it can't be programmed? But it doesn't feel fair, of course.

Well, if you want to loose wings, fly an Albatros! I must say, that today I am really annoid by the fact that my wings broke TWO TIMES, when following Nieuport 17 in the SAME movements they did. About the Nupe 17, I found in English Wikipedia: "Unfortunately, the narrow lower wing, marking it as a "sesquiplane" design with literally "one-and-a-half wings", was weak due to its single spar construction, and had a disconcerting tendency to disintegrate in flight." When Nupe 17 and Albatros are the same there about the V-strut, I would really appreciate, if both would show the same problem, or the Nupes not perform manoeuvers, that I can't risk to do. I mean, not enough that we are ALWAYS outnumber 1:2 by them, it really goes over the top with these breaking wings, whilst my French opponents happily zoom about.
  15. They are - of course - all Albatros skins. You can see more pictures in the threads "Reports from the front" and "Screenshots". Download the desired file, rightclick and unpack to: your sim folder > campaigns > campaign data > skins Albatros DIII has three versions; DIII early, DIII OAW and simply DIII. If you want to fly a DIII OAW skin, but your current craft is a DIII early, just copy the file and save that one under the same name, but exchange the "OAW" by "early" - leave all else as it was. Now you can choose that skin for both of those versions. Hope it was understandable. Enjoy! Olham

To add some colour... ...don't ask me who's dog it is; found the picture.
  17. TrackIR 5 reconsidered...

Yes - and you could always re-adjust your cap with the help of the three green dots.

Creaghorn, you must be the most honest DiD Campaigner here, I assume. So, put that pilot into Siggi's killboard - he belongs there. Admitted: I am always SEARCHING for trouble; that's why I'm with Jasta 28w in Wasquehal. And right: in real life I would not act the same way (at least I hope so - Lol! Although I have recently been like that, and was very lucky I suppose: 4 guys, as wide as high, came with their sport bags from our Fitness Studio, filling up the whole sidewalk. I rammed right through them without stopping. They shouted "Eyh!'s" and I looked round and said, that even bodybuilders couldn't fill up the whole sidewalk. They went on - perhaps it flattered them). As I said earlier: once that one of my recent pilots dies, I will start one the "Creaghorn Way" at last.
  19. To my American Friends

    ...and from Berlin too!
  20. I'm not so sure, if a kill can be stolen. It seems to me, that it belongs to the one, who pumped most rounds into the opponent? At least my last Nieuport wasn't accepted as MY kill, although I had given her the last few. The guy before me must have damaged her most. But I'm not sure. Winder?
  21. This car is looking so great, in white, or in burgundy; maybe in any colour. I must try to get that burgundy on an Albatros...
