  14. Although I removed the avatar, and then put a new one in, it keeps showing the previous picture, that I had removed, distorted now. The new one is a GIF file, size 80 x 72 pixels, 5 kb only. What am I doing wrong? In my settings, the desired new one is shown.
  15. Admin help required

Hmmm - that's funny. When I try to exchange two JPEGs -won't work. When I try to exchange a GIF for a JPEG - works. When I try to exchange a GIF for another GIF - won't work. But now I exchanged a JPEG for a GIF - worked. So I'm back.
  16. Your longest lasting pilot

Very few aces, like Udet, had a great kill tally (which shows they saw action) AND survived the war. But soe did. Creaghorn, as far as I remeber, had already some 60 hours? Correct me if I'm wrong. Creaghorn, you are right about the TAC, with the exception to mention, that the AI can see us as if they used TAC - they ALWAYS find you. But my next DiD pilot, I want to fly without - just for the thrill of more reality; however far he may get.
  17. Last Blast of the Summer

Perhaps you are just much more a turn fighter. Try Jasta 6 then, Lieu-St.-Amand, when they get the Dr.1 (or a bit later, when you prefer good wheather). The Dr.1 is the hell of a turnfighter. But it is an instable craft - that means, it reacts immediately to any stick moves - gotta be learnt a bit. But then you don't have to fear anyone. In that crate, 4 Camels versus you and 1 wing, or 6 S.E.5a versus you and 1 wing, is EQUAL. Good late Albatros DVa and DVa 200: Jasta 9, Vauxcerre, July 1918 - nice landscape, good wheather, and almost only SPAD XIII - you should be able to smoke them like cigarettes. Stay aloft, and blue skies! Olham
  18. TrackIR 5 reconsidered...

I don't know the 5er TrackIR, but could it be that you made it react too "aggressive" - in other words, if you flatten the curves for the yaw, pitch etc., it might perhaps react "normal" ? Also, check patiently the three green dots - do all possible moves, and see if they are always there. If not, there might be a disturbing light source.
  19. Your longest lasting pilot

Hellshade: ...and I cheat with labels, TAC, unlimited fuel and warping. I do have air activity on Heavy though. That does make for an awful lot of good action, but a short life as well. Well, TAC and warping are even allowed in DiD Standard, so it's not really regarded as cheating. Unlimited fuel is not necessary. Look into the briefing - at the right board it's said how far the whole round trip will be. Choose a different flight, if you want it shorter; then fill in 150 - 200 % of the amount of petrol in - that should work (well, sometimes combats take longer, but then you must only back behind your lines and land anywhere there.) For the activity you want: my advice is, set it on normal or medium or how it's called. Then enlist three pilots. 1. low action/activity: 1916 2. medium action: 1917 3. high activity: 1918 Simple as that.
  20. Just tried to change my avatar. It's 80 x 72 pixels, and only 20 kb. It is shown as chosen in my "edit avatar settings" - but it doesn't appear? Help needed here, please...
  21. Hi, Badger, and welcome! I must still have Gradn Rix Legends somewhere. But I didn't come to grips with it too well (not the sim's fault - I'm a motorbiker, and as I couldn't lean into my curves, I always zoomed into the pebbles). But those racing cars - beautiful!
  22. Unc, the gauge for the upward/downward angle is also swaying, when you bank, right? So it's much like an artificial horizon, as it shows you your banking angle. Not in numbers though. And yes - Strg. = Ctrl.
  23. An old friend of mine, and flight sim enthusiast (on civil craft so far) got convinced by my reports and pictures to order BHaH. He ordered a week ago. Today I thought I give him some Tipps already, but he had found out a lot alone and through the help of this forum already; cause he had the sim already there after only one week. I thought, you devs might like to know.
  24. Thank you, Duce. Funny - but I'm glad I didn't change my avatar to that bloke.
  25. Inspired by Ritter von Tutschek's change to Black because of the loss of a friend, I have thought about this Deep Burgundy painting. The pilot, Wolfram Ritter von Mahlow, saw a friend and comrade, who got shot down, some hours later at some trench batallion. The blood, that had dried already, had a deep red colour, that Ritter von Mahlow should never forget - he painted his craft like that, and added a death head, to sign to all opponents: you are entering a fatal encounter!
