  1. RoF First Impressions

What could I add to OvS' words? Absolutely right - and the pics of Cameljockey show it very well. So it was Winder's work - very great job, Winder! As a graphic designer, I think I know, how tricky it can be to get a good overall colour combination. And this had to look different but still good from higher up! And it does so beautifully, that I mostly don't warp no more, although I don't always find enough time. That is meant to be a compliment.
  2. [i hear Olham laughing his ass off.] Ooops - you heard that? Lol!!! Buy them a bottle of brandy - you'll have the best friends then.
  3. JUST CAME IN THE MAIL!

Yupp - commas and one space. And be patient - this ain't no arcade game, it's a sim. You want it close to real flying (even real pilots fly this sim). So it may take a long time, until you found "your" crate, and then even more to learn to know her well.
  4. Command Key Card for OFF

Absolutely "yes", SGCSG1 But they need to be close enough to "see your hand signs", as they had no radio. I found, they will react, as long as their labels are blue. When they turn white - no communication. "R" = Return - they will come back to you "A" = Attack - wingman 2 and 3 will attack (wingman 1 always stays with you, as far as I've seen) "H" = Help - will make wingman 1 (and maybe the others too) attack enemy craft next to you. (press that only, if someone's at your tail - otherwise they "help" you with the guy you're chasing!) You can use "Attack" clever by marking craft for them, that you'd like to get attacked first. If you want them to stop shooting at your targets, it always works for me to press "R" Return. That makes them stop. Edit: best look up the right commands in the chart above - I have simplified mine.
  5. OT: An American Dream

Duce - the front lights-and-grill section look great; below that, and the sides, appear too bulky to me. Here is my first picture of the Albatros DIII in Deep Burgundy as inspired by the Mustang. She's still a work in progress - I'd like her upper wing surfaces even darker - very difficult, not to loose the shades of the Lozenge fabric.
  6. Last Blast of the Summer

Hey, never tried any MFJ or SEEFROSTA - over the coast you say - should feel like home. But then I remember the wheather in Ostfriesland. As you say: mostly nasty. Perhaps I try them, but in May - should be nicer.
  7. I never had bulletholes like this in my fuselage. So either I am very good, or there IS a difference between the cards (Now, even IF I'm very good, there must be)?
  8. Opening video music

Yes, in Phase 2 it was also - and here it still is.
  9. OFF aircraft web page

Homeboy - this is really impressive, to see all the OFF aircraft on one page - I hadn't thought they'd be so many, honestly. I am absolutely sure that your site will be much frequented. Either to compare your favourite crate(s) to opponents, or to find out about the available craft, for making a choice. I hope you won't loose your energy for such a wide field. And this HAS to become a sticky, surely.
  10. JUST CAME IN THE MAIL!

There is a command key for "toggle pan - static" view (different named but search for some "toggle" in view command). Now put that on your switch (thumb button?), so now you can have the gliding pan-view for flying and searching the skies, and a static view with 7 angles to dogfight with. Worked fine for me! Padlock - worse, as you have to controll your kite; never liked that. Switch on TAC, switch through the targets (like "aircraft"), then mark them. In a sticky above are the command keys. You can put them elsewhere on stick and keyboard as you like. Have fun! Edit/PS: think it's "scroll/snap view (toggle).
  11. Last Blast of the Summer

Hi, Capt.Sopwith My best DiD pilot is flying an Albatros DIII from Wasquehal, with Jasta 28w, since May 1917, and I have encountered and shot down the aces Arthur Rhys-Davies, Raymond Collishaw, William Mel Alexander, Earle Hayne, Alfred William 'Nick' Carter, J S T 'Joe Fall, Richard Pearman Minifie, Roderic 'S' Bregeut Dallas, Cyril Burfield Ridley, Samuel M 'Kinky' Kinkead, Anthony Allen George Spence, and (????) Fullard. They flew Pups, Triplanes and Nieuport 17 Lewis. No "Foncking" - it's true and all in one campaign. The only problem: you'd have to fly German side. If you want to fly Allied side, I would choose the area Arras-Douai, and a Triplane, May 1917 or later. Perhaps you make it to the Camel? I wish you as much fun as possible - all that book work sounds horrible - and stay aloft! Olham PS: Hasse Wind: in the latter half of 1916 when they rule the skies with the Nieuport 17. Who ruled the skies in later 1916? Not in my area with my Jasta 2 pilot flying an Albatros DII - we usually shredder those butterflies!
  12. hughesyman, if you are new with BHaH, or don't even have it yet arrived: you will go crazy for so many great skins as you can find there! Get yourself "DXTBmp" (free download), and browse through the sinks. Also you may download some more from the download section for skins at the main combatace site. These are skins from simmers for other "pilots" to use. http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...amp;showcat=351
  13. Wow, Cameljockey - that picture with the SPAD is a great shot!
  14. Perhaps it is well known - I didn't know it. This seems to be an ammo counter from a German aircraft machine gun - DVII or Dr1? Who knows more?
  15. They truly are great there - I've become a Forum member recently, but haven't posted enough yet to place pictures. Thank you!
  16. Hi, Hughesyman Wecome here! You should look at these skins: Jasta 29 default skin Jasta 10 Arthur Laumann Jasta 10 1918 default skin It should be one of those - the one in the title is slightly changed in tone by the designer, maybe. Stay aloft! Olham
  17. RoF First Impressions

OvS, I envy you for having such a dream, that may even be possible to come true. If I was a real pilot, I would want to be a "mechanic & pilot" - not a "I'm rich I can do what I want-pilot". Cause then, I could hear and feel, how my crate feels. The web is a great place for searching and finding: here's ZAHN'S airport. And a Cessna you could buy in Ontario, here: http://www.automobilebestbuys.com/aircraft Sorry, if I made it worse - only firing up your dream I thought. Lol! PS: they are re-creating ZAHN's airport for a flight sim now (forgot which one - X-wing something?)
  18. Opening video music

The only classical composition added in BHaH is Samuel Barber's "Adagio for strings" Op.11 - a very melancholic piece, that fits to the drama of that war very well, I'd think. All other music is from the composer Matt Milne - a soundtrack like made for a movie IMHO.
  19. Yes, I can use the link - thank you. Steve Watts from "Watt's shop" is the source of my Picture. So now we know, that late war craft like DVII and E.V / DVIII had them (or at least some of them). Thank you for investigating, Steve!
  20. RoF First Impressions

Dreams supply the "engine" with energy. But remember, OvS - with those huge floats, dogfighting gets most impossible (Lol!)
  21. OFF Current Status

Great news about the clouds; just yesterday I lost a pilot, who came out of warp into an outer haze of a cloud - his craft broke up, before I could catch him up. The registration thing is not a problem at all - I would do the same with "my baby" - very understandable. I have a minor thing going on, which you could perhaps change, too. I have two rigs connected to a switch point with one monitor. Now, when I start BHaH, I often find it in the wrong resolution (which can be annoying, when you have gone through the whole briefing etc., and then get kicked out). Can it be made, that the resolution the player chose, will be memorised and used, until he changes it again? (If I'm the only one who has that problem, forget about it - then it may be just my problem).
  22. Love the look of this Cowboy Game

Thanks for having me in there, OvS, but I'm looking closer to the right ones (Virgil and Wyatt?). Can I have a Buntline revolver or a Navy?
  23. OT: An American Dream

Thanks, FastCargo and OvS - that was also a very impressive car to me. And right - Barry Newman. He played a lawyer later in a TV series, but i forgot that name... Petrocelli ! Haha - I was just about to say, my brain is getting old and scrambled, but then a synapse awoke and said: Petrocelli. (The human brain is incredible - if only we knew how to use it better?)
  24. TrackIR

Remember to put the hotkeys for "re-center" and "precision" on your stick. And to press "precision" once again after shooting, so you can look around fast again.
  25. American SE5a Skin coming soon

Widowmaker; when I enlisted an American pilot, I saw, there where some units with Camels! So they didn't only fly SPADs. Your next project could well be an American pilot's Camel then?
