  1. Finally beat the odds!

Congratulations first, CW, and it IS something to achieve - victories can still be collected. Yes, I think it's paranoid. And I had once asked a similar question about Albatros lower wings breaking up in mid air - I had thought it was because I had too many kills in very short time. A dev reacted quite upset and assured me, all was done "strictly by the book" (which I never read). But it turned out, that I had just dived too steep. I was used to the Albatros DIII, which can bear more stress on the wings. But now I flew a D Va, and that's a different craft. I almost had two collisions today, and I'm not at all near that 17hour mark. I would rather guess, it has something to do with aggressive enemy AI approaching you, and you making a sudden move. Anyway - the only way to avoid it is, overall situational awareness, plus more careful moving around. Something difficult to achieve, I know that.
  2. You're not the only one, and not the first, SittingDuck, I had to throw away old stuff too. So what about the award, Erik? A kind of Blue Max?
  3. Ace skins

    Albatros D V later - Franz Schmid - 1 victory - Jasta 32b
  4. MvR Triplane Artifacts

Okay, Bullet, you won. But only, as I liked you already before. And - okay - I admit, that this "creeping up the spine" thing happened to me, too, when I saw the iron mask with a silver covering, that a Roman officer had worn, in the Varus battle. It could be, that it was even Arminius' mask, as he was educated and trained by the Romans, he was an officer, and he had led them into an ambush. As a man of knowledge, plus military experience, you must know this battle. There is an exhibition about it until September. They are pretty sure now, that the battle was near Kalkriese. Over a distance of more then 10 kilometers, they found the remains of that slaughter. Three Legions got almost totally wiped out - a fifth of the strength of the whole Roman empire. Yes, it makes a chicken skin on me.
  5. Capital "B", eyh? Just had some for breakfast, CJ!
  6. Campaign aircraft skins

No, can't be done yet. Hopefully in the future. The devs are working on it.
  7. MvR Triplane Artifacts

As far as I know, it was taken by the victors of WW2 - in this case the Russians, as his father house was in Schlesien.
  8. 17 Hours?

Jim, first you click on "pilot dossiers", there you enlist a new pilot, choose a Jasta/Squadron, the time you want to fly in the war, and rank. Make this pilot "active" below. Now you leave "pilot dossiers" and click on "campaign". There you will find your first mission/ briefing now. You can accept it, or click on "optional flight".

  10. OT- F****** Idiots!..hahaha

Great discussion, Sirs - none shall say, this forum was superficial. No, we have 'style' !
  11. Today, I "created" another new pilot; I wanted to fly somewhere close to Verdun, where I had not fought before. I chose Jasta 32b, Bantheville, August 1917. Their sign is a black tail end. Now, I wanted a personal skin for Juergen Mahlo, but also use this black tail, and out came this bordeaux red craft with the letters "J M" on the sides. It brought me luck - downed 4 SPAD VII in my first mission! (See: Reports from the front)
  12. Tuba2: One would feel terrible even thinking of putting any holes or inflicting damage on such a regal looking craft. That's what I hoped, when I made it! And no one did, so far!
  13. Here's a very basic, simple skin for my new Albatros - just a white craft with black crosses. I like it, but I'm thinking of perhaps to add some colour thing - but I have no idea yet. Anyone else, maybe?
  14. Not to forget the ivory white Halberstadt - she looks really good in white!
  15. MvR Triplane Artifacts

...the same reverence that attracts pilgrims to cathedrals housing some fragment of a saint. Exactly. And that's another thing I really hate. Crawling into cathedrals, to catch a glimpse on a bone that is said to be the left foot's big toe of some so called saint. How far away from real belief is that? But some of what you wrote, Bullet and Hasse, makes sense to me.
  16. Great, you brought this up, Rooster - that way I discovered, that some of my ATI settings still weren't optimized.
  17. Future Aircraft Models and FMs?

This woman is a rare species - she always talks sense!
  18. Ace skins

    1. Albatros D V later - Rudolf Windisch - 22 victories - KIA May 1918 (FEA 6, FFA 62, KG II, Jasta 32, 50, 66)
  19. Thank you, Sir! Well, I have my tricks, and it really doesn't take very long. All the good stuff is already there, made so beautifully by OvS, Paarma, Makai, Polovski, Sandbagger and others. I just use all this.
  20. MvR Triplane Artifacts

He had just died, when they took his boots, his uniform and god knows whatelse. To me, such relicts have something horrible about them. This is what remained of the man, the warrior.
  21. Do you have a WWI movie idea?

Thanks for the link, Hauksbee! So, at least for his former jewish wingman, Goering seems to have felt somehow responsible. Hm...
  22. Ace skins

Today, I joined Jasta 32b, Bantheville, in August, 24th, 1917. Nice area, and I can hunt down SPAD VIIs for a change! Here's a skin from that Jasta: Albatros DV later - Hans Auer - 5 victories - FA 9, FEA 1b, Jasta 16, 26, 32
  23. That's not fair, UncleAl - the Halberstadt is a good climber and reasonably good at turning with the early Nupes (although they can do better). Give it a try - just for a free flight; it may be fun.
  24. Thanks for great links, Godzilla!
  25. Do you have a WWI movie idea?

Paarma - do you know, which Jastas Rosenstein all flew in? Sounds very interesting - not many people survived the whole war. PS: just checked the Aerodrome - he was in Jasta 9, 27 and 40. Another intersting survivor of the war was Bruno Loerzer with over 40 victories.
