Regardless, I still have a devil of a time surviving in those things no matter what handles are there and/or function! They are my favorite fighter and I can't give them up. Hey? This man is sympathic to me.

Here you can learn some English poetry and wisdom. I must try to translate some of that. What does the "copybook heading" mean ?

It's a pleasure to help you, Red Dog, as you are here with so much enthusiasm and joy. -

Go to "my controls" above right, there to "manage attachments" left side, down. There you can let show all the attachments you made. Often several pages (see page numbers at the top right). Throw away those, you don't think they would be looked at anymore (oldest pages or minor themes). -
This is what happens to those poor chaps you shoot down
Olham replied to Red-Dog's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
No, Red Dog, this doesn't happen to the ones we shoot down. Did you never realise, that Winder & Co. stop the planes from falling all the fatal way down ? It stops before, in mid air, and they are either regarded killed, or they can even carry on. No bloody war here. So calm down and carry on, fighter. -
Ont this site, I only found one picture of the "Gisi" craft, where the handle is seen. www.earlyaviator.com Interesting site with loads of pictures, by the way. Edit: More pics with handle. These show best, that it was for the radiator.

Red Dog, I had to throw some old attachments away, as I had reached the max. attachment amount. If that's not the case - make sure, you don't have made the pics with more than one layer. It should be reduced on one (background) layer, before making the JPEG. -

Oh, my! Sorry for you, Creaghorn, my condolences about your pilot. Next time, you better retire him - with so many sorties, hours and kills, he would have deserved it. And then, you can always leave him in the log book, retired, but alive. My best pilot is only just getting towards the 17 hour mark, with 17 confirmed kills. And even for him, I'm getting more and more nervous each sortie. He's in August 1918. Will he make it to the end of the war?

OFF BH&H, future: Work in Progress
Olham replied to Polovski's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Hey, WomenFly2, here's some good post news for you and all: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?s=&am...st&p=288544 But apart from that, I believe to know the devels good enough now to think, that they won't make any poll or debate about the next craft to come. They will rather go after history, importance, production numbers - not what anyone would LIKE to see. And so, I'm afraid your D VIII may have come too late and in too little numbers, to get included. (But I'd like her, too!) -
Wow! Hats off to Rudyard Kipling! (Didn't know that artillery men read such prose?)

People who do this sort of thing have no brains, No, Tonyo, it's even worse. They have brains, but don't know what better things to do with them. Instead of being creative, they destroy. The lowest form of existence.

Ham, the death of the first pilots hurts most. But you'll get used to it after many flights. It will only get really good, when you accepted, that you're not good enough yet. Because then you begin to do things better and better. You let the desire go, to be an "instant ace" - and learn how to do it. And then, only then, you realise one day, that you have reached the 17 hour mark! I have three first names - Detlev Juergen Guenther - and so I use these three for 3 pilots. If one dies, I clear the log, and enlist another with the same name. I'm flying this sim since February 20st, I died a hundred times, and only now am I getting close to the 17 hour mark with also a good kill tally of 17 so far. And now, the nervousness returns on this pilot...

I like the last line of that review, said about "Over Flanders Fields": Nothing will ever top that! And now, back to the cockpits, gentlemen!...
-
Exactly, Creaghorn. The dynamics rather take place in your pilot's fight to survive all this. My best pilot now has reached 15.30 hours, 49 claims, and 17 confirmed victories; it's August, 10th; war comes to it's final part. The Entente is sending in more and more craft, and I feel like a child in a proud castle of sand, when the tide comes in. All I can do, is give them a good fight. The dynamic about my own fate is, whether I will survive it to the last day, or retire at the right moment, or die. For me, that is good enough. I knew when I started, that the Imperial forces lost it in the end.

Yes, TrackIR helps there, plus zooming one or two dots out. Some crates have rather bad views (like the Nieuport triangle, the Pup "ring cushion" etc.), but if you want good, clear view, I highly recommend the Albatros (all since D III) or the Pfalz (but she is not so agile for turn fighting). For me there's no plane with a better view than an Albatros D III or D V / D Va.

No, RedDog - to prevent you and Widowmaker, Rickitycrate and myself, from trying to win the war single-handed, they didn't do that. But you seem to have an influence on your personal carreer. I think, when you complete the mission task as good as possible, you might be promoted to a higher rank earlier, whereas when you rather take on every dogfight and collect kills, you receive more medals.

...perhaps the best flight sim EVER! Welcome again, Slick Wilhelm and if you eliminate the "perhaps", we could become good friends (Lol!) Yes, it IS so great! I wish you many immersive flights. If you want to fly without "radar" and as a leader, you best press "R" for Return whereever you change directions. Also, don't fly away from your field, unless all wings are close to you (I use 65% throttle, so they can catch up). Then they should be with you. And sometimes, you'll need them! (At least as witnesses). My Wingman No.1 has saved my bum several times, when I called for Help "H".

OT- F****** Idiots!..hahaha
Olham replied to UK_Widowmaker's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Well, it's bad enough for everyone involved - I hope they all got out with no more than minor injuries. -
Hi, Widow As OvS said - too purple. The tail section bit that's missing must be that panel above the upper fuselabe side, below the above fuselage back (I think).
-
Hey, Widow, good idea! Why not? I'll try, how it would look on my "Weisser Adler" Albatros (White Eagle). If I change it, I'll post it here.
-
Two things, Saburo 1. Best put that "re-center" command on a joystick button easy to reach - you need it often. 2. Forget about gunsights. Do some QC dogfights, not for the fun, but to "learn to see", where your gunfire goes. There is a center point; you see best with two-gun crates, where the tracer lines come together. Once you know, where this is, you can even learn to do good deflection shooting - without gunsights. Maybe it's more feeling than knowing.

Hi, OvS, that picture was from this great Photo site: www.flieger-album.de Go to "Photoalben" > Photoalben, diverse This site is rewarding; Sanke cards, aerial photography, pics of crashed and conquered craft etc. Don't know if you had seen this one before: http://www.flieger-album.de/fotoalben2/Fot...11.1917%5D.html Or this picture of Von Schleich:

My contribution to the OFF on-line Comic Book
Olham replied to Dej's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
...and, yes - very well done; Comic-layout and choice of pics and type style; plus RedDog's idea for the right transformation/filter effect. I may also try one or two pages in that style within the coming days. -
