Barnstorm - how does that look, and what's the cost for it?

Bloodthirst craze or grown up pilot
Olham replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Yes, Amercicans can have family roots all over Europe - so not bound to any side. But even though I don't trace any roots in other nations/countries, I have now started a campaign in RFC-65. As a child, I always modeled the British planes, like Spitfire, Westland(?) Whirlwind, Mosquito; and later, I had a 1:72 plastic craft, that I bought ready built and painted: a beautifully done S.E.5a. Wish I still had that. -
If you forgot to write your witnesses, the claims are automatically rejected?
Olham replied to Luiz Carlos's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Luiz, when a claim report has absolutely NO chance to get confirmed, there appears a pop up plate, daying something like "do you want to proceed this claim? It will be rejected as erreneous." You can then click "no" or a cross-out mark, and change the claim report, until this doesn't appear again. So, if your report was not rejected, I think it still has a chance. But next time, better note your names. Also, ingame, I check the time each time some craft is named to be destroyed. You can do that by pressing "pause", and then "Z" - you get a red data text then, with altitude and time etc. -
What is the natural prey of the E.III?
Olham replied to Hauksbee's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Yes, the E III should get an opponent in a future version or added on package. The Morane Parasol or whatelse there was, that an E III could have a chance to beat. Then, more people would use it. I would! -
Yep, enemy AI was on ace; groundfire on "easy" or how it's called. But I don't think, you will do better in a D VII. She's the better overall fighter. But in this combat, my strength was to have an instable, extremely agile craft. The D VII is so much more towards the S.E.5a's qualities, that it might be less successful here. Try the Dr.1 - it's incredible, once you got it!

Had a strange spin again, and this time, I had flown through a haze. Could it be, that the turbulence thing is also working in a haze? So, that we must even avoid to fly through those? PS: Oh, by the way - this time I could catch her up, when we fell out of the haze.

Can you scare an AI pilot off one of your mates?
Olham replied to Hauksbee's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Yep, as Hellshade said. You gotta hit them. My 2. wingman got chased by a Nieuport 17 ace. I sent over some deflection shots at 460 feet (I think, that's roundly 150 Meter?), and hit him. He immediately pulled away (another great step forward in BHaH!). -
When your vision is bad, and the enemy near: turn, turn turn! That way, you can scan all around you. She's great. She's a witch, or even a b....., yes; she has poor vision, yes; she's British, yes - but great!
-
Thanks, Hellshade I tested her before, and found, that I can handle her best (for aiming and shooting) when she is trimmed nose a little below zero, so that she is "hanging in the stick"- so to say (god, what may the pilots say?) Hauksbee, I think this were 5 planes in 5.40 minutes. But absolutely mad. No one would do that with his real body in the crate. Voss may have had an adrenalin rush from the kill he just made. And you see, were it got him... Edit: No, included the finishing off of the damaged one, it were 6.40 min rather. And ground fire may have helped quite a bit. (We know, they can!)

SE5a Hispano skin now available
Olham replied to UK_Widowmaker's topic in WOFF 1 2 3 / UE - Skinning / Modeling Help
You remind me of Anthony Fokker - gone into mass production?... -
Some skins are really hard
Olham replied to UK_Widowmaker's topic in WOFF 1 2 3 / UE - Skinning / Modeling Help
D VIII's?! You saw D VIII's soewere???!!! WomenFly2!!!!!! An idea: put a white or yellow grid over the surfaces of a skin of a more difficult plane. Then, use the skin ingame, and make screenies. Then you should see, were it distorts. -

It's mainly, what they can do to his sensitive nose! -

Hey, Widow - had they only had you in the RFC as the skins designer, back in WW1- it would be much more fun, flying the "crumpet crates"! Lol!! -
THIS-CRATE-IS-FUN!!! I wonder, reading complains, she was tricky - after flying Albatros mostly, this babe is easy going! Like a butterfly with guns. Yes, at last I did it; David Marlowe joined RFC-65, La Lovie, October 1917. It was my first flight, for which I wasn't the leader. The British are a bit more hiratic about the lead role - I was just too new. Off course, I forgot quickly - right after takeoff, we spotted enemy fighters overhead, and I thought, I better climb towards them, before they come down and ruin everybody's day. They were three first, Albatros D V from Jasta 37 (I think it was - diagonal black and white stripes in the tail fins; yellow fuselage). But I was lucky - Flak took one out, before I reached them. The engine went down seperately and much faster - two trails of smoke. And then they came down! What a sight, to see Albatros attacking - I almost forgot to shoot! They came like hunting wolves, from two sides. But the Camel responded lightly on anything I did; I even used the Immelmann twice, and she does that nicely! When she stalled, she recovered quickly, after taking throttle back half. Only negative point is vision. How much better is vision on Halberstadt, Albatros, Pfalz or D VII! Here, you have an attic window - but better than nothing, I thought, and really managed to keep my eyes on the craft I followed. Shooting is child simple and easy on that crate. No vibrating; very calm directly into target. Those blokes had no chance against a man, who knew their planes. But when then the first got shot up terribly, and went down smoking, it turned my heart! Thanks to "warp", I managed to rejoin my flight. We approached 3 DFW two-seaters. My attack was honestly mad in such a light plane, but I collected relatively few hits. I made three attacks on the same plane, when I suddenly saw Albatros left and right! Oops! I managed to burn one's fur, but then ammo was out. Now they came for the kill; and I don't know how I managed to make an emergency landing right in a forrest road! She's very easy to land, too. Straight in line, and soft at touch down. Just as I stood still, safe and sound, a blue line appeared: "you destroyed an enemy DFW". Wonderful! Three kills! Only know I realised, I had neither noted time nor place. But I filled in the claim form anyway - hope, they will accept them! More reports will follow! Cheers! David Marlowe

Oh, my god - I shot two Albatros...

Thirsty ferret? You're kiddin' me! Isn't a ferret an animal like a weasel? Let's look that up! Thirsty ferret - huh! Weasels don't drink beer!... Edit: Hm - it's a kind of marten, but also a recon aircraft -

If you prepare it, as Dej describes - but later, they wont stop asking you a times: were's our Minka? In war times though, they called cats "roof rabbits" in Berlin... -
Oh, my god - I shot two Albatros...
Olham replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Mustn't be Guinness really - I used to drink that in the days of youth a lot. But now, I'd much prefer a beer, that's name I forgot; it was in Northern England, were I visited friends in Derby. Near the druid stones of Birchover, there was a nice pub, were we had Ploughman's Lunch (really good!), and that beer. Yorkshire Brown? Newcastle Brown? Perhaps Widowmaker knows, if he stumbles over this... -
I think, it's 100 MB, and 10 minutes. In Windows Movie Maker, you can make the choice of the size of final video with a slider (I think it was). But they kicked my music out, and so I had to swap it with music, they offered.

Albatros DIII what a sweet plane
Olham replied to Offwatch's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
I've done that - sneaked over with a foreign identity, to be allowed to fly the famous Camel. And I must say, she didn't disappoint me. See my thread "Oh my god - I shot two Albatros!" -
Exactly - thanks, Hauksbee.
-
Wels - there is an explanation for why the Dr.1 flat turn doesn't work in most flight sims. Forgot, in which thread, but it was a newer one!

I have mostly been in the same Jastas again; 2, 5, 6, 11, 12, 15. Not much more. So Jasta 40, you say - I'll check; thanks. Do we have the STROPP plane (Jasta 46, I think)? Must check that too. -
Reichsadler means "Eagle of the Empire", and I always wanted to make a very conservative skin I imagined to have been flown by Guenther Ritter von Mahlow, a typicall Prussian noble with not much humour for a more cheeky skin (Lol!) The eagle, I think goes back to a double-headed eagle, which was the sign of the "Heilige Römische Reich deutscher Nationen" - that would be: "Holy Roman Empire of German Nations", more or less - at least very old.

Albatros DIII what a sweet plane
Olham replied to Offwatch's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Well, we should much rather fight together - it's hard enough, as it is. I like your approach, to fly a plane you like, even when it is definitely NOT the best fighter plane around. And after some time, you find more of it's special strengths. -
A happy Easter to all the OFF Forum community, the whole OFF dev team, and all from the Combat Ace Forum! Olham
