Strange - I would have sworn, I posted to this before, but... nothing... Well, so again: the Nieuport in overall white looks superb, Red Dog! Now the full beauty of this plane shows perfectly. I always wanted to do a white Albatros (as the large seabird is white), and now I have done a first version to show (see post "White Albatros").

Wow, Red Dog - hey, Good-lookin'! Just tested a new skin, and had a little tango with SPADs to add salt to the soup. This situation was right after an almost-crash. While I attacked the right fighter, the left SPAD zoomed through my sight inbetween us, large as a barn! Had I seen her coming, she would have got a lethal burst! But my reaction wasn't good enough - it was a nano-second, so to say. For more pics, see skinning thread. -
SE5a a dream to fly in campaign (pics included)
Olham replied to MK2's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Tttiger: The DVII with the big engine is the only Hun fighter that gives me trouble in an SE5a. Well, you don't fly in the Somme bend region. You might meet a flight of four or five Albatros DVa, nightblue, with stars, a crescent, and a wolve's head painted on them. Whenever that pack comes across S.E.5a, they eat them (Lol!). Mostly though, we encounter SPAD XIII, or Nieuports. But seriously now: the S.E.5a, flown by a skilled ace with good wingmen, would get me to sweat in a D Va. Also in a Dr.1, as I could only turn about and hope, that on one of your zooms, I could plaster you. But against skilled D VII pilots, even aces would find it very hard to survive. She's a killer warthog. -
Fallout3 and East India Company? I thought or getting the first one, but really, I don't find time to even play more - the forum and flying the sim leave no more space for anything else. Maybe in a year or so - then they'll be cheaper anyway.

Musical Score for OFF movie 11
Olham replied to BH_von Weyer's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Nowadays - no, ever before too - it is constant knocking, scratching, hammering on the right doors. Getting heard, whereever you can. And of course: chance - luck - the right contact in the right moment. Your music for BHaH will surely be noticed - you never know, if not the kid of some producer or director plays this sim. The son of a friend of mine, a music student, heard your score on a visit. He sat for quite some time in front of my monitor and speakers, and listened. He was asthonished, that an air combat sim, that didn't come out through a big major company, had such a fine score. He sieved me with questions, like: "Did they record with an orchestra?" I asked: "Does it sound like?" He: "Yes." Me: "I don't know, but when it sounds like that, listen to it like that." Then I left him alone, and he listened through it. -

Hrrmmh - okay, I forgive you, Hasse Wind; my bird coudn't hear you (Lol!). My first plane choice, back in Phase 2, was the Pfalz. I found her a very reliable, stable platform for two guns. She doesn't stall easily, and if it happens, catches up quick. She gave me a feel of reliability. With ~ 185 km/h, she is slower than the S.E.5a (~ 222 km/h) and the SPAD XIII (~ 218 km/H) though. Also, she is definitely no good turn fighter. I would like to hear, how you get on with her here in BHaH. What are your opponent planes? Which tactics do you use? Any tricks? -
Haha! Tttiger, I'm writing more here than I fly. It's the only forum I'm in - and I don't need no other. Were would I ever find SUCH A COMMUNITY - I deeply cherish this! But to be honest, after two or three 110% reality sorties (so, more than real - Lol!!), I really feel menthally exhausted. And that, although it can't even cost my REAL life. (Shows me good enough, how strained the nerves of these pilots must have been). Thanks, Rickity; and you sure are one of those, I wouldn't want to miss her.

Trouble getting to Quick Combat Screet
Olham replied to wsmwsm's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Hi, wsm The only way to get to the "old" QC, with the choices in the menue left side etc. is to go to "Workshop", there at the bottom "CFS3 QC" - and then you should get what you want. The other QC earlier on in the main page, is different. -
Did someone shoot at the photo, CJ? Or throw bottles at it? It really looks, as if it's been in the drawer of an old gold digger's hut in Windy City!

Russian Camel Skin now available
Olham replied to UK_Widowmaker's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Yes, of course - I had this posted on the old forum already: http://wp.scn.ru/en/ww1/f/415/59 On the left, you choose the plane you want. In the center, there is a field, showing, from which countries skins are shown, or from which countries the artists come. Click on a national symbol, and at the right, the planes will appear, listed in pages. Click on a page, and it will open and show small previews. If you click on the plane, it will come enlarged. Enjoy! -

Olham replied to UK_Widowmaker's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Great job, Widow! Actually, I just searched the "Wings Palette" site, to proof, that there were no white roundels under red stars ever. I was wrong. There were. Hasse Wind - perhaps you can make Widowmaker finish his "Jaws" Pfalz D IIIa. That would be, what you needed! I've seen it! Ask him (push, push!) -
LATEST UPDATE v1.30b (MiniPatch) IS NOW AVAILABLE!

As I understood this, it must be well written and explained - thank you, Winder. You guys don't waste time! -
Hey, Camel - what happened to Snoopy? And who's that in your avatar - looks like the ghost of some Confederate Army Captain. Spooky!

In the first flight today, the 4 of our Albatros D Va climbed for 4 Camels. When the gentlemen came down, I ordered "attack" - and found none left over for me. My wolfs must have been very hungry! In a minute or two, all Camels were eaten for breakfast. In my second sortie, I got one for me then. In the third, we didn't meet any other opponents but these two R.E.8s, without escort. I couldn't resist. The gunner of the second plane cut my engine out. He spiraled down, I followed. Seeing Ennemain airfield below, I knew I would get some lunch soon, and that let me attack them again, with standing still propeller. I let them have it, and they crashed beside the field. Happily, I came sailing in to Ennemain, rolled right to the canteen, just in time for Sauerkraut, mashed potatoes and Bratwurst. Lol!!!

Sehr geehrter Leutnant Hasse Wind Turnips - it's that bad in Jasta 10, really? I'm in Jasta 15, Nesle / Le Mesnil, in May 1918; and here in the Somme region, the people know to eat well. Their Bratwurst is different to our German ones back home; they make "Merguez", a mix of minced beef and lamb. But I like it; very tasty! These French people know much better how to live well, than us. In Ennemain, I was the special guest of Jasta 33. They have an own "Metzgermeister" (butcher master craftsman) - there, I got a real German Bratwurst, and German beer (something, the French don't know to brew like us). Hochachtungsvoll! Oberleutnant Wolfram "Wolf" Mahlo

LATEST UPDATE v1.30b (MiniPatch) IS NOW AVAILABLE!
Olham replied to Polovski's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
I have downloaded and installed Patch 1.30 this afternoon. If I want to use "Hardcore" - should I then use this new Patch 1.30b ? -
My Fokker Dr.1 pilot is flying with Jasta 6 in Lieu-St.-Amand, Jan. 1918, He has had two successful flights, with 8 claims right now. Now, I tried to make another flight, but can't get to field! Each time I press "Go to field!", I get the weather forecast, then the voice shouting "Contact! Clear!" - and whoosh! - an I back to another briefing. I tried it three times now - it just doesn't work. Any ideas, anyone? I don't want to reset CFS3, because I would loose this pilot. So, if you say, there's no other way - how could I save my pilot, before I do so? Cause - any other way, it would be inacceptable for me.

Can't "go to field" ! (Problem solved now!)
Olham replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Thank you, Madmatt, for the sympathy, I feel you bring to this forum, and surely this combat flight sim. What compliment could be greater than one, made by another industrial game developer? (let's hope, they still get their heads through the door now - Lol!) And right - so far, there were rather minor issues, that the support always solved quickly. I like your approach to the planes, and feel similar. Of course, the Fokker Dr.1 or the D VII and D VII F would be more dangerous fighter planes. I tried them, and got my kill tally growing much faster. But somehow, I have fallen in love with the Albatros fighter, and fly all versions. I will surely do campaigns with all the other craft, German and Allied planes, too. And so I'm a lucky man: a dream from days of childhood came true. And it supplies me with so many planes on each side, that this will last for years. THAT's, what I call a good reason for upgrading my rig a lot. (See, if you can get percentage on CPU and graphic cards sales, Winder and Pol! Lol!!!) Hope, you stay here, Madmatt - now that your "stealth mode" is off. Welcome! -

My best lasting pilot so far, "Wolf" Mahlo, has many encounters with SPAD XIII. So far, they always lost, except on one occasion, were they outnumbered us terribly, and we were chased back over the lines. But next time, our revenge cost them four more of these planes. -
You can go over the edges with a paintbrush, as long as you don't paint into another part. I mark the area for a colour change or whatever, in Photoshop via Lasso, or with the choice square. Sometimes I collect it with the "magic stick". But the edgy Lasso, were you can set point after point, getting lines between them, is my most used tool for choice.

Musical Score for OFF movie 11
Olham replied to BH_von Weyer's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Much did we praise the new sim "Between Heaven and Hell", but I haven't ever mentioned the musical score to it yet. It is great, suits the athmosphere perfectly - a score, that could well be in a movie about WW1 airial combat. -
The trouble I had getting to field (see thread: Can't go to field!) seemed solved (thanks to Madmatt again!), and I wanted to do a flight to be sure. So I picked my Halberstadt pilot, who had not seen any action yet. We went on an artillery spotting mission, but I didn't remember to note anything. Arriving at the lines, we were attacked by at least 6 Nieuport planes from RNAS-1. Two of them were Nieuport 17 Lewis, flown by aces. Whilst flight 1, lead by Manfred von Richthofen, climbed up towards the waiting Nupes, our flight tangled with those, that had come down. One ace, Roderic S 'Breguet' Dallas, turned with me now. I called me wing for help, and that got him out of our tango. I got behind him, when he tried to attack my wingman, and tried to shoot at him. But that is not so easy with a Halby - aiming and shooting are very different to the planes I knew! But I got into it, and Roderic experienced to get sieved by a German single gunner. Great with Nupes - they are so fragile! He didn't last long and crashed. That would have been enough for me, but there was more to come. I could shoot two more Nieuport 11 down. And all that under MvR's nose, who didn't have a single kill! When the claim report appeared, I found, I didn't have the names of my wingies! Was about to dump them claims, when I suddenly had an idea: flight 1 was always around and above us. And I had two names. Manfred von Richthofen, and Max Ritter von Mueller. So I filled those in. Now I wonder, if I will get those confirmed...
