Fair enough, and the honest way. I'll do so too, when I've come to grips with this all. Right now, I find it very hard to survive even three flights in a "hot" area" - so I'm still learning.

It's no big thing. In "controls", look for "next target" and put that command on a button or key you want it. I did that with all the wingmen commands, cause sometimes I need some "help", or want them to "return". Works quite well - it's just one set up, and offers you much better fighting chances. So, I have the "help" call on a button, I can reach with my pointing (?) finger. Helped me a lot in a furball with numerous SPADs. My wingman 1 came straight for helping me out - it almost made my eyes wet. PS: targets marked, can be switched to by "F4" (you see the enemy plane then). When you're in that view, and press "next target" again, you can switch through them all and see, what they are. It's a cheat, okay, but good for learning.

As no one asked for it yet, I'd like to make a demand for someone else. I know, that RICKITYCRATE wanted one very much, but he is at work now and can't take chances. May I ask you for him, instead?

Hi, Siggi At start, you could fly with 75% throttle, until they are with you. (When I warp, they are always all there right with me after that - but wait with warp, 'till the last one is airborne). I confess, that I kept the blue text on, that tells me, when I downed a plane. Takes some off the immersion, perhaps, but I KNOW I killed one - and then I can look up the time and position, for the claim report. I had it once or twice, that I didn't get a claim report, although I definitely shot a plane down. Don't know, why - s**t happens. Sometimes.

Don't know about your head switch. Does it work in fixed angles, or not at all? If you can't find "glide view", you must check "controls" for something like "toggle views" or similar. If you put that on a button, you should be able to change views. In "Quick combat", you can choose ANYTHING! You can even start on the runway. There should be a menue on the left, were you can choose your opponent's plane type, and how many they are, if they are advantaged or disadvantaged, were you start, weather etc. Engine start should be "E", but the starting process takes a while. It shouldn't be necessary in mid air.

Never had a look at airspeed, too. It only worries me at the point, when the wings of my Albatros crack away. But as I don't know exactly, at which airspeed they will do that, it's useless for me. When I can "feel" the craft's behaviour and situation in the air, I'm fine. With the Alb, I got there. (Well, breaking wings recently tought me a lesson, I hadn't know yet - don't dive like the SPAD you're hunting!)

Hey, Winder - stay cool! I knew the "help button", but thought, that most pilots still hadn't thought of the idea to create an own photo, or didn't know, how to do it. So I offered advice. But, off course Red-Dog's post No.2 would have had to be made to you (Lol!)

There's also "DXTBmp" (freeware - must GOOGLE for it). With that, you can browse through the skins ( but still they'd be the base texture files). I'm thinking of taking the work on me, to show at least pics of all the ace skins of Albatros planes. But that alone is a helluvalot of skins. Paarma and OvS must have found little sleep, when they did all these.

Hi, Rick Thanks for the idea. I need to survive long enough though, to do that. My idea was meant rather for others. I myself alway join Jastas, were the action is. But I'll recreate "Ernst Mahlo" now, and try a very serious "war survival tour". Hey, Mighty were in the sim is that "Ritz / young girls" section you mention? Hey, MK2 - you seem to be the "crazy neighbour", I (and Rickitycrate) always wanted but never had. When I came up with ideas like this, the guys rather responded with shrugs. Often I think, I was born in the totally wrong country. Maybe the stork came out of a warp wrong. I feel, I should have been delivered to Cornwall or somewere near (Polperro would have been nice...) I didn't even know, Dawn Patrol was a board game, before the sim came. This looks incredible, and like a helluvalot of excitement. Thanks for sharing, MK2!

Yes, Siggi, English campaign must be hard in parts. I had started one, but the flights were long from St.Omer, befor we even reached the front. And then, we had to go deep into German terrain even. But I'll start another, and maybe use warp more.

Hi, Cameljockey! Yes, 1918 is damn tough. I have started a carrer there with Jasta 15, at Bonneuil Ferme, April 1918. We fly Albatros D Va, and it's a bit like with the Bf 109 late versions - they made them stronger, but couldn't get much improvement out of them anymore. But I will do my very best to get better with her. And the lady still could bite (The D Va has 1.100 rounds)! Since I changed my behaviour (I'm doing the wingman for my wings now - I really save their asses all the time!), I see a chance to make it through April, day after day. We are mostly confronting SPAD XIII, and they are no big problem, as long as they don't outnumber us too much. It's even fun - the crazy extasy of the moribund...

Dammit - this didn't work for me (I'm in the web with an old rig with Windows 98 on board). Davy, I rely on you. You'll get me/us informed when it will be shown on the newsgroups board?

Hey, Siggi and tttiger - maybe you two are more similar than you both think. At least you both seem to be of similar temper. So you both have seen real fighting - and now choose different behaviour here. Nothing wrong with that, I'd say. I could even imagine, that both ways have advantages and disadvantages. I said it somewere before, and perhaps Winder or Pol could clear it up: I suppose, that your going up in ranks is faster, when you execute your orders best possible. And your kill tally will go up faster, when you more often decide to mess with enemy fighters. For me, both didn't get very far though: I haven't yet survived more than 5 missions (had to reset the sim and restart all pilots after last patch). But I won't give up...

Todt von oben - you're either an extremely optimistic pilot, or haven't read about the Eindecker here. When you encounter little or no enemies - better be glad about that. But your goal: make it from start of flying ops to Armistace day alive." - I haven't yet managed to make the 17 hours (maybe my choices of Jastas is always in the very tough sectors).

Thank you, Red-Dog, but the ALLMIGHTY beware us - me as a god - the world is in enough chaos! I forgot in the above: after putting the picture together, and reducing them to one layer, you can off course change it back to RGB colour, and add a tint of brown or grey-blue, or yellowish.

Hi, MK2 - if you like the SPAD, you might like the D VII more than the Dr.1? Tried it?
