  1. You lucky blighters! But there's hope for me - sometimes BBC programs get translated and shown here.
  2. Bloody buggering hell.

OVER50, it WILL work with glasses - don't worry. You may just have to experiment with the light in your room. There is a window, showing the three reflecting points from your cap device, when you adjust it. Only when I have a bright light on in front of me, two red dots appear (reflections from the metal frame of my glasses). But the sensitivity can even be adjusted as Winder said. You don't need to worry - it will work! And you wouldn't miss TrackIR, once you got it, I promise!
  3. Remember, you won't see damage at the highest resolution for the aircraft ! (see: workshop) And try it in campaign. I have just returned from a fight against SPAD XIII - one just exploded from a severe burst. In the HARDCORE version that was.
  4. I start in Jastas, were the plane type I want comes earliest. For the Albatros D II (in fact it would correctly be a D I there), that was Jasta 2, in September 1916. So I have an equal or superiour fighter - for the fun factor! My rank is mostly Leutnant - just sounds best (Lol!) I had to laugh all the way through the post - how Siggi got bashed for making differing decisions. As a German, I don't get rockets. And without rockets or bombs, I won't do ground attacks. But as they are ordered, we go there, I mark the target, and order: Attack to my wings. I cover the attack. I let them do just one strafe and then call them back, and off we are. And for the evangelic work ethic - this ain't work - it's war. When I'm the flight leader, I take EVERY chance to get envolved in a fight with fighters FIRST - arhrrm! I mean, we always get attacked by someone from somewere. They may lurk in a very distance. But I KNOW, they will come after us - so I better fly right there to them first (Lol!) I'm a fighter pilot. They didn't make me Flight lead for nothing. I must have deserved it. And as long as I'm the leader, I will fight this war my way. (My wings have never complained, and they collected quite some nice kills, too.)
  5. For a while today, I was pretty upset - I had messed up BHaH somehow. Trying to get into a campaign flight, I got tons of messages, telling me, skins couldn't be found. So I finally did the desperate step - reset CFS3 and BHaH. All pilots gone again. Sigh! (It turned out later, that the problem must have occured, cause I had one self-changed skin of an Albatros D Va given an uncomplete name. Could be the reason.) When everything worked again, I created new pilots, for Halberstadt, D II, D III early, D V and D Va, each one. I started with Wolfram "Wolf" Mahlo, Jasta 15, Bonneuil Ferme, on 26. April, 1918. Soon, my flight with three wingmen came across 3 SPAD XIII, high above us. I climbed towards them, until they attacked. And this time, I remained cool. Marked a target and ordered "attack". The wings immediately reacted. I now acted as THEIR protector/wingman, and shot rounds into each SPAD attacking them. After short time, all 3 had been hit by me. Only once I had to press "Help", and my 1. wingman, Emil von der Ziegler, appeared and helped me out. When the wings had one SPAD downed, I marked another for them, and attacked the third myself. Von der Ziegler stayed with me now. An incredible up-down-and-everywere began with the SPAD - it's unbelievable, how fast and powerful they are. But they can't and shouldn't turnfight. He learned that the hard way, and won't have more time to use it. I had hit him so hard, he pulled a trail of smoke. I followed and shortened distance. Didn't want to waste more ammo on him. And really - suddenly he lay on his back and crashed into a little wood. When I returned to my other two wings, they had just finished off the last SPAD. From now on, "Wolf" Mahlo will always do it that way. Very satisfying!
  6. Hi, Rickitycrate Your German "translation" of your avatar name just made me laugh (and that did me good!). "Rachitisch" is especially for a noise, the lungs produce, when you're seriously ill. Better for a name, and saying the same as in your name: Klapprig, wackelig "Kiste" is by no means a German first name, and I don't know any name near that. Also, German names don't end on "ig" often, but rather "ich". So, if we would distort the whole a bit, to get a German sounding name, you could be Karl Klapprich, or Walter Wackliger. If you want... Have fun! Olham
  7. Hey, good looking! You didn't use "smashing" colours - that makes it look real and impressive to me. Great job, Gous - keep them coming!
  8. REDWOLF, what would you expect Winder to say to your "confusion" by his offers? It seemed, after the first patch, that many found the sim too difficult. Now, the devs offer more choice. But could they tell you, what you should be happy with? Would you like it most realistic, or more fun? I think, the most realistic settings would be "hard", the next step down is "normal". Everything else is, at the name says already, "easy". The choice: more "downing planes" fun, or working out a realistic combat pilot; cannot be made for you. No reason to feel shame, when you pick "normal" or even "easy", for learning and growing. I show you my settings here - they are not yet all on most difficult. But that's my aim, one day. And I chose the Hardcore overpatch - it feels more realistic to me (and MY plane is also more stabile!)
  9. No big thing: when I plan the flight, I check, how far the total round trip is. When it says "60 miles", I fill in petrol for 90 miles, to have a safety plus. But often, when I warped, it didn't last till return to base. Okay, I had fights on the way - but that's what I filled in the safety plus for. Any ideas, what goes wrong there?
  10. This is a question to Winder. My pilot with Jasta 15, in April 1918, ended up the last 3 or 4 flights with something, which I thought were mid air collisions. But, as he was diving after a SPAD each time, I'm beginning to wonder, if the lower wing of my Albatros D Va might just have broken? Would it look like a midair collision for me? Would there be no warning, that the wing vibrates too much?
  11. No, Parky. I got a HOTAS Cougar, but then I'd have to fly with rudders, which I have tried out, but found almost impossible so far (perhaps need adjustment?) So, I returned to my THRUSTMASTER T.FLIGHT for now. I don't want to try something NEW all the time; I'd like to ARRIVE somewere, and get to grips with fighting planes. Pol, you must be right - I may have switched the warnings off accidently in CFS3 config. Thanks.
  12. Hey, Red-Dog, did you "paint" that little doggie on your plane? It's cute (far too cute for this kind of job though).
  13. Yes, I had exploding SPADs, folding up two-seaters, tumbling down Nieuports. And it feels more realistic to me, that they can't be shot up so easily anymore. It hasn't become too hard now - just a little harder. And you can always overpatch it with the "normal" patch again. But I definitely prefer this now.
  14. Bloody buggering hell.

Siggi, my best momentary pilot Juergen Mahlo from Jasta 2 is just back with his D II from what should have been an artillery mission. But the bloke always takes every chance to attack planes rather. He spotted a flight of 6 FE2b short after takeoff. As he hasn't yet got to grips with holding her really still, his shooting was rather bad. But downing two of the Fees was no big job. He could have made them three or even four, with better shooting. You'll like it! PS: actually, that would be an Albatros D I in September. But that would have meant to build another 3D model, as it looked different. We are lucky there: the forward/shooting vision was far worse than in the D II.
  15. Sopwith Pup ...

Yes, ditto, and she's a little beauty to watch performing. If she could have carried twin guns, I wouldn't have liked to meet her over Flanders Fields.
  16. Hee hee...

Hi, Davy You just have to post as much as Widowmaker, and you'll become a "valued member". Hey, Widowmaker - with "tiny", she probably describes the chances, to get some extra household money out of you?
  17. They say, the Hardcore version makes planes more difficult to down - they can take more hits. That's both, enemies, and your own plane. So, for me it was no question: I use Hardcore now. And can take more damage. The weapon effectiveness should still be good with my twin Spandaus. It's set on 'normal'.
  18. Bloody buggering hell.

Siggi, as far as I know, the earliest Albatros D II is in September 1916, in Jasta 2. I fly with them. And the plane is at that time a very dangerous warcraft. If you don't turn too long with the Nupe 11, but boom and zoom rather, you can shoot any plane to pieces with your twin guns. And when they've got the speed of it right, now, it can also run away from them. No one on the Allied side has 1.000 rounds with him. The sheer extasy of toasting them all (Lol!)
  19. I knew that, off course. Only thought, there would be some warning then? Cause I can't "feel" the plane.
  20. Tch! - ZoomZoom, how could you? I noticed, that you should NEVER mark a plane for attack, order attack, and then attack the same plane. Cause then they do things like that, overambitious perhaps. Either give them another target (marked), and pick the next for yourself. Or keep them with you, without ordering attack at all. I did that in a furball, and pressed "R" return every now and then. They followed without colliding. When I got attacked, I pressed "H" help, and they helped. May look egoistic that way, but do THEY need kills? Why shouldn't they rather protect me. I'm the best killer of our bunch, so better I do it quick and effective (Lol!)
  21. Haha! No, Widowmaker, I am in that area, but in September 1916, with Jasta 2. Better not come across our flight path, Capt.Kremmen - we LOVE toasting DH2s. He is my best pilot getting on, and just shot down 3 BE2c. But I didn't feel good with it. I mean, those poor blokes had 4 - 5 Sopwith Strutter with them, but when our flight of 5 Albatros D II appeared, they couldn't climb away fast enough, letting the BE2c's an easy target for us. I followed them, and shot down one after the other - they crashed within some 4 - 5 minutes. No, I'd say this frankly: MvR wouldn't have had reason to be too proud of such kills. Easy meat... My other pilot flies in April 1918, but he almost ends every second flight in collisions. Or could it be the lower wing breaking? I went after diving SPADs each time? Hey, I must ask Winder...
  22. Bloody buggering hell.

I fly with glasses. I don't have light on near me, only sidewards of me. But it works fine. If you see red spots in the adjustment window with the three green spots of the reflector, you must switch lights off. The monitor should NOT be a problematic light source - just make the adjustments as Winder says, and you'll be fine!
  23. If another nationality should be added, then the Austrian pilots. Then, the Germans wouldn't stand so alone against 4 nations, (And that way, I would get my OeFAG Albatros - the BETTER version of the Alb - Lol!)
  24. Bloody buggering hell.

My TAC is set to 4 miles, which is a distance, were I can see planes (at normal sunny weather). But I was attacked yesterday by Nieuports, that had hidden in a huge cloud. They were already close enough to turn red on the TAC, but didn't! Only, when they came OUT of that cloud, they were suddenly red specs. Clever, eyh? And dangerous... In your case, Siggi, it might have been a "quick diver" like SPAD XIII, coming from high above, right down on you.
  25. My neighbour and I would like to try co-op flights in MP, via LAN connection. It's greatest fun, to go through hell together and help each other out. Is that possible - has anyone done that yet?
