  1. Okay were is everybody ?

Hihi - I also like one from Andy Capp: His wife Flora (or: Flo) tells him that the butcher got cheeky and made approaches to her ; and she asks Andy what to do now. Andy says: Well, I think you should go out and mow the lawn. She asks: "Well, do you think that is gonna stop him?" Andy replies: "No! But it'll wipe that smirk off yer clock."
  2. Okay were is everybody ?

In German: Jemanden rupfen (to deplume someone) means someting like "to shellac someone". In English: to frazzle s.o. out. To deplume s.o. may sound funny in English though - no idea...
  3. Okay were is everybody ?

I am going through a half year of school training, to learn Web Design, HTML, Javascript, Flash and PHP, And I can only say: I wasn't the most energetic guy in my twenties, but it has rather worn off more. So I'm quite exhausted after my return home, and when my personal stuff is also done, there is nothing much left in me to invest into flying air combats against 19 year-olds! (Well, I still do occasionally, and I still deplume them).
  4. Okay were is everybody ?

Well, it definitely IS too quiet around here since lately - maybe the lull before the storm - aerh, WOFF. For you that's a good reason to go out more, Herr Prop-Wasche, indeed. We need the sunlight, like the plants; it'll do ya good. Doctor's order.
  5. Okay were is everybody ?

Well, since you guys did already put a finger on it: Winder's second name COULD well be Slartibartfast. Although he is NOT doing any Fjords for WOFF (thank god!!!), he has found many "other fiddly bits" that keep him pleased to get them right - and us waiting. My tip for you, Slarti - visit and check both Forums (Fora, Forwhatever...) - it won't take too long these days.
  6. OFF Forum Pilots Maps

Update 18 October 2012 - 17:33 h Berlin time (= GMT + 1) FokkerDviiOAW, New York added. The maps are in post 1 of this thread
  7. Welcome to the OFF Mess, FokkerDvii - I'll have a virtual Warsteiner Pils! Many of us hope, that such transfers will be easily possible - we'll see. But if you want to do such a transfer now, you can already do that. Go to OBD Software > CFSWW1 Over Flanders Fields > campaigns > CampaignData > Pilots There you open the "Pilot Dossier" folder and change the third line from "FA(A) 256" to "Jasta 11" (for example). Save it, and then start a mission. You don't need to fly it - it's just for making OFF realise the change. In your next real mission, you should see the change in your "Pilot Log". Done! Best is to save the whole "Pilots" folder before you start changing anything - just to be safe. NOTE - the pilot numbers in the Pilot Logs are one lower or higher than in the "Pilots" folder - make sure you pick the one from the right unit.
  8. PS - In case anyone doesn't know: after clicking on a pic and getting it enlarged, you can click on it again to receive the full size view of them.
  9. I wonder if you had to shoot them from hands (no tripod)? In that lighting (which is like in a British gentlemen's club) that would be very difficult. Anyway - they are a great series of WW1 plane photographies.
  10. What a fine presentation of these aircraft! Great pics, Dave! I may have seen some of them, but never all of them. Now look at that Halberstadt Cl. IV - a rare craft. Look at that beautiful SPAD! Thanks for posting, Dave!
  11. Didn't it, Hauksbee? We were not so spoiled yet by Industrial Light and Magic and Co. What wasn't exactly there to see, was added by our phantasy. I wouldn't change it for today's youth's wealth of i-phones and all that. Never!
  12. Yes - Wikipedia is so much better than many of us think. Here is an excerpt, and the link: To recreate airfield scenes in the film, with the limited number of period aircraft available for the film, large scale models were used. The first requirement was for "set decoration" replicas. Production of full-size wood and fibreglass Hurricanes, Spitfires and Bf 109s commenced in a sort of production line set up at Pinewood Studios. A number of the replicas were fitted with motorcycle engines to enable them to taxi. Although most of these replicas were destroyed during filming, a small number were made available to museums in the UK. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Britain_%28film%29
  13. They had built 1:1 dummies of wood, tin and painted canvas, as far as I know.
  14. OT Cameron and WW1

The release of WOFF can't change the world - but it can make it a so much better place, huh? Not bad, not bad! I like that!
  15. OT- Artwork of Harry Dempsey

Making a profile like these must take many, many hours I guess? I have started one, but at least the first basic template, when you have to build everything new, easily takes several days - if not weeks - to get it all right.
  16. OT Cameron and WW1

Aaaah - a big pool of political debate! It's not allowed here, you guys know that? Hey, could you move a bit there - I wanna jump in too! You pointed out one of the weakest spots of democracies here, I suppose - if not THE weakest. This line did me good; from over the pond the American election campaigns often look VERY bizzare. But now I see: you may have the same impression your end. Widowmaker, my old friend - if it comforts you: things are going very badly down the drain here too. When I hear, how people from other countries - European or not - see Germany, then I often wonder, if the appearance of a whole nation could be fudged in such a manner? The big industries may still make big money, okay. But while the tax payers money seems to be getting spent by the billions for the saving of Europe, most of our local communities are more or less bankrupt or close to it. It all doesn't seem to make sense anymore. Or it does - but not common sense. .
  17. Off topic Hobbit in the wind

Hey, that's what I call an affordable good lifestyle, HD! Well done!
  18. Ah, okay, I never heard of that model kit; not even of the company. My largest kits were AIRFIX 1:24; and the HASEGAWA "Dora" was in 1:32. But my modelling days are long over, and I sold the remaining unbuilt stuff on Ebay. I guess we should finish our modelling talk here - after all it's still the "Screenshots" thread. Good luck with future builds, Andy!
  19. I could see the total by pressing Ctrl/Strg and "minus" keys. Wow, from above I see that such an U-Boot was actually a beautiful design. Elegant as a shark. Great model, Andy! And what do my old eyes trace in one corner - if that's not a Focke-Wulf 190 D type (D9 I guess). Is it the HASEGAWA one? I had that model kit, but never built it and sold it on Ebay. A pity really...
  20. Is that model open on one side, to show the interior? In that case I'd love to see a photo - I can never remember the order of the various segments.
  21. Run time error 76 ?

It's just that when OFF BHaH was ready and patched (way back in 2009), we had lots of similar posts in the old forum. In the end it always turned out the same - it was never an error or mistake in OFF, but always the users not following the correct install and patching order as noted clearly in the OFF website.
  22. Oh, well - it's worth it. There always have to be the Hobbits who would be different and daring enough to follow and accompany the Bearer of the Ring...
  23. Off topic Hobbit in the wind

Good reasons kept you off, Hobbit - a Harley Davidson, good weather, and an Elf on the backseat - who could ask for more? May I daresay, that you look much like a Hobbit - maybe from the Brandybock line?
