PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING: RULES FOR NEW FORUM GAME Today I'll start a tour all over the world, to visit places where OFF Pilots live. And I want to play it like a little game: The OFF Pilots, who recognise their home town from the picture, post here, that they have recognised their town. If you don't want to spread here, which the name of your town is, you could just say: Hi, here's .... and that's my town. I will know, if you are right. As soon as the picture of the place is recognised by it's inhabitant, I will move on to another town. I will not try to show here the most beautiful view of the towns - I'll just pick places I find interesting or I have heard about. I will use Google Street View for this, as far as possible, and hope they won't mind. It's not for making any profit, and should be even a commercial for them. The pictures will get deleted, as soon as someone identified their place - I'd fill up all my attachment space otherwise. Okay, here we go: Whose town is this? And what do we see in the picture? Maybe, Sutton Farm produces those problems. Is it close to the front? Was there no writing with the photo, saying, that you had to spend the rest of the war in a POW camp? I have made two or three landings on our fields near the lines, when I was shot up badly, and I received such a message. This can happen, cause the front line changes a lot throughout the war. Next time you get CFS3 config file problems or similar, you should first try the two buttons "Reset OFF Manager" and "Reset CFS3" in "Workshops". You will still loose all your pilots, but it's quicker than a re-install.

I did not try to make it the perfect English way, but rather to follow the German order of grammatics (as far as possible), to keep the "German touch" of it. Yeah, I did look up surveyor (didn't know the word's meaning) and so I slowly got it. And you're right, my English is far from perfect. Every now and then, I mix up "were" and "where", and recently I wrote I wanted to "hugg" someone, when I wanted to say, I wanted to hug him. That can lead to enormous complications. (Isn't the plural of "to hug" really having two "g"?) Once someone wrote something, and I asked: "So what?" Now I know it would be "Na und?" in German - which means something like "as if it mattered!" What I meant to ask is rather: "So, what did you mean to ask exactly?" So, please be patient with me, and tell me when I have expressed something wrong.

Hellshade: I'd ask for Directx 11 support for P4, but I'm afraid of being banned from the forum by the Devs. Don't panik - the devs are not that sensitive, Hellshade. But what the heck is the talking about P5? Have you guys all been on the "Weihnachtsmarkt", drinking "Glühwein"???

As far as I know, both 4-colour and 5-colour were used at the same time. The main reason for Lozenge screen-printed fabric was saving weight - the camo sheme didn't have to get attached with the heavier paint.

Anyone who's still using Vista deserves to catch a virus....lolol(Just joking of course ;-) Parky Hey, hey, hey! I really thought you were a computer crack, Parky? A friend of mine has set up my system with Vista, and it all runs fine, smooth, perfect. Even Photoshop works very good. And OFF flying is wonderfull, without any catastrophies I occasionally hear from others. Well, I better stop now, or you'll begin to think I was on "Kaiser Bill's" paylist - which I'm not.

A very good one about the harsh reality of sailors, from a great writer! I didn't know it - thank you. Going out on the sea in the days of sailing ships, must have often been similar to flying another sortie in the Great War. That reminds me very much of Sidney Perley's "Historic Storms of New England". I borrowed it to a friend, so I can only recite from memory a small excerpt which contains it all. It's about a ship thrown on the rocks very close to the coast. "The men on the ship saw those on the shore, and those on the shore could only look over to the men on on the ship, and they all knew, how unimportant they really were." Also a very good read about modern fishermen getting lost in the raise of the elements: "The Perfect Storm". Very different to the movie, the book is a great documentary, written in a very good and well readable style.

Sorry to hear that, Wayfarer - I wish you a Merry Christmas despite his death. From where he is looking at you, he wouldn't want to see you unhappy. My dad died 1991 - a bit too young; but we cannot tell when and why. Bagpipes as well ... another favourite of mine, although I understand many people regard that as an aberration! In this film, they do even mix with the opera singer, and the singer with them. Music is the direct expression of emotions, I believe, and how could these bagpipes not express the pride, and the sentiments of their players.

Sometimes, when I had one of those fights, were I remained the only pilot from my flight, and where I have peppered several surrounding enemy craft, I open the "Review" to see, what happened in the furball, and how many I really got down. Just for the curiosity. In my claims, I only write down, what I KNOW myself I have downed. The most fascinating thing about the "Review" is, that you can see, how many more action there must have been very close to your own position.
