  1. GrimReaper, I've been playing on "Normal" difficulty. I'll have to try "Hard." Did you say you still find it easy on the Hard setting? You might also try setting "Heavy" Enemy Air Activity if you haven't already.
  2. GrimReaper, Sorry about the redundant follow-up post. I didn't see your reply until I already posted mine. I'll probably DL a mission and place it in the Mod/Mission folder and give it a try. Will post here the results. Funny, I hardly ever played FE, but the improvements on FE2 coupled with the Terrain Mod makes it seem like an entirely new game! I'm really enjoying it!
  3. GrimReaper, Got everything done in the DataInits: added the SRC. Graphics in the game are perfect now! Thanks for all your help! Ok, I'm being greedy now, so here comes that question one more time add nauseum about the FE downloadable missions from this site: Will they work in FE2, without renaming? Just wondering if anyone has tried them in the new game?
  4. GrimReaper, Thanks for the PM and help. I sent you a PM reply. Meanwhile I've located the DataInit in each folder. According to the original post the BlendOp is the only line to change by adding DST. I'll A-B compare to verify though. BTW, what's the verdict on using the missions from the Downloads Section here in FE2? Are they workable without changes, or is renaming involved?
  5. Follow-Up, I meant to say any of the SP Missions listed here in the Downloads Section from the original FE. Are they playable in FE2 and do you have to make any changes to them for them to execute?
  6. Just a big THANK YOU for everyone on this thread. I bought FE2 on release day and got on this thread a couple hours ago. DL'd and installed the Terrain Mod and just have to say WOW!!! Jan, you are an artist of the First Magnitude!!! Thanks, also to Grim Reaper for asking the question I was going to post about how to Mod FE2, and one more thank you to Heck for posting the procedure. Appreciating FE2 is even more satisfying when others are contributing and sharing their knowledge for everyone's benefit. Again, THANK YOU ALL!!
  7. Got the SuperPatch the first day it was available. Wow, this sim just gets better and better! There is so much depth in OFF, I think I may have missed something. Question: Has the Start in Air Box on the briefing page been there from the beginning? Or is it something I've overlooked until now? Its' great to have the option of going in close to the objective when you have limited gameplay time.
  8. Start in Air Box?

Stupid me! I just perused the patch data and discovered that "Start in Air" is new. A great big THANK YOU to you OFF Devs for including this option!!! BTW, the Quick Scenarios are a welcome addition as well. I also love the new menu screen. You guys are performing above and beyond the call of duty!
  9. (RoF) Rise of Frustration

Follow-up from my earlier post: After last night's game registration fiasco, I woke up this morning and found I had finally received an email from ROF so I could register and begin playing the game. Problem No.2: The options button within the game does not function, you have to exit the game and go into the game files to remap your stick or change graphic settings, etc. Problem No.3: So far, I haven't been able to remap my stick and save the settings for the game, and on the SimHQ forum many others are having the same issue. So, I'm using the game's install default settings already on my Logitech Extreme 3D Pro. The good news: I just flew my first Career SP mission. I flew for Germany and the objective was protecting a truck convoy. We ran into a French patrol and I got my first two kills. The FM in the game is pretty good, IMHO. The enemy AI is not bad so far. The sense of immersion and being part of a wider conflict is done well too. The mission had several secondary objectives as well. There is a lot of activity happening on the ground: Trains, vehicles, etc. The loud and spectacular flak burst all around my squadron was great too. One option I like was the ability to choose the length of each mission before starting and also like OFF, the many squadrons to pick from at the start of your career. The game runs great on my system on max settings with excellent framerates. Finally, the visual splendor of the graphics and detail of ROF are superb. I'm becoming more impressed with this game in spite of the aformentioned problems. I love WW1 sims, so for me the game is worth the trouble. Neoqb, the developer was quick to fix the problem last night, so that is a good sign. If they address the other problems I've mentioned here, they just might have a viable long-term game here. So now I have three WW1 flyers I can put on the shelf: OFF, First Eagles and ROF. Its' an embarrassment of riches!
  10. (RoF) Rise of Frustration

I installed ROF today at 1:00pm and everything went OK until I tried to register the game online. It is now 7:00pm and I still can't get to the online registration. If you visit the SimHQ forum right now under ROF-Technical Support you will find many disgruntled posters (of which I am one) who are experiencing the same problems, and the list is growing! So, I'll continue with my regularly scheduled programming: Over Flanders Fields: BHAH and be glad I still have this fine sim!
  11. Gentleman, I'm enjoying the hell out of OFF3 since it came out (unbelievable experience!) I've also gotten back into CFS3 after getting a new rig that will play it OK. I'm thinking of downloading and installing the add-on FIREPOWER. However, I don't want to do anything with the original CFS3 that might prevent my playing OFF3. Can anyone tell me if adding FIREPOWER to CFS3 is OK? I certainly don't want a conflict by doing this that will affect OFF3 because it is my Number One game!
