WOFFice? Now that my PC has finally caught up to the demands of WOFF, and my original test campaign pilot has gone west (9 confirmed kills, rolled into a fence at 5mph and died), I want to crank up the experience a bit. I enjoyed Lothar's OFFice simulation/RPG and want to include it, but am a little anxious about tinkering. Has anyone tried it and does it work OK?

I agree that the end of the war is worth celebrating more than its beginning. I also suspect that the proposals to celebrate the beginning are part of the 'sooner rather than later' trend in media driven celebrations (Millennium in 2000 anyone? The 20th century was, at the time, regarded as beginning in 1901). As such it has more to do with selling memorabilia and politicians scoring points than actual celebration. Oh, am I getting too cynical? In preparation for the onslaught this summer, I have been reading up on the very complex diplomatic relationships that led to the escalation of a conflict in the Balkans. I hope to be able to argue it well before the xenophobic rhetoric starts. I also fully intend to celebrate the Christmas peace.

I check in every day, but generally have little to say. Maybe I should start putting together AARs. Something I last did (once) when P3 came out. I never go to the other place as it goes. I just don't like the 'feel' of it.

I had figured Stratos was after pictures of SE5as as they look in WOFF. I'm concentrating on a FE2b campaign at present so I don't see any. Here is one from my visit to the Shuttleworth collection (posted back in August). The SE5a sadly didn't fly.

I got my copy as my main Christmas present (I hope. It could be only present). Just a suggestion for you to consider. Having played it for the last few days, I can vouch for it being an excellent value for money in terms of outlay vs. hours of enjoyment. And I hardly buy any new games because of the price (or maybe I've become too old for the target demographic). I think this is worth it because of what it is; something I love. Good thing I did get it in lieu of a present. It runs beautifully on medium settings for me, but I really want to upgrade my processor now.

The release date is happily in the past. We have all won.

I found OFF difficult. But that was mainly the 'never give in' nature of the AI. I'm hoping to see less of that. I look forward to a new set of problems.

I can't really say anything that no-one else has said. If they are considering surgery, then they must have high hopes for that treatment. Just remember to get computer with a joystick set up for your convalescence!

I don't think the OFF guys would hold back just to get a significant date. I'm sure they want to see it out there as soon as they can. But then I think if it was very soon, we would be hearing about pre-orders and the arrangements being made for publishing. So 21st April 2014 is my guess

Looks very nice, but it is a BE2 with the observer left at home. It'll take a great pilot to survive in that thing (yes, of course I will try. No of course I won't last two fights).
