  1. WOFF Training Flights?

Thanks again, Olham. Being an old QC flyer, this is all new territory to me.
  2. WOFF Training Flights?

Thanks, Olham. Second question: when enlisting pilots, there seems to be no choice of Squadron. Is there a way around this? ('seems there must be). I'd like to fly with McCudden on the day No.56 Squadron tangled with Voss. I'd like to be with Roy Brown on 21 April. But, how to get to these? . In addition, as several of you have encouraged me to not only start flying campaigns, but to try two-seaters, I have developed a desire to get into the Roland C.II. There is, unfortunately, a great dearth of information out there concerning C.II's, let alone which units were equipped with them. (I have an e-Bay bid in on a C.II book by Peter Grosz. I'll know by tomorrow evening if I've won the bid) But can anybody point me to records that will give me dates of service, and which units flew C.II's?
  3. I want to enlist in No.209 RAF (Roy Browns squadron) with the express intention of flying a morning mission on April 21, with the hope of being present when Manfred gets shot down. (and even getting in a shot myself) I have Brown's squadron flying from Bertangles. But where was Jasta 11 stationed?
  4. Do we have a Mission Builder in WOFF? Or, can we still use the CFS3 Mission Builder?
  5. Excellent! Thanks, Dej. Now if I haunt the area bounded by Bertangles and Cappy and Vaux-sur-Somme, I'm bound to run into him.
  6. If you have enough space left on your present hard drive, could you simply partition it?
  7. Someone on the WOFF site mentioned Oculus Rift as a successor to TrackIR. So I poked around a bit.(I'd never heard of it) It's currently available only in SDK form, and the resolution is rather grainy (as the reports go) but Oculus also say that will be cured with a full 1080p version soon. This is truly space-age! Your field of view is wider than human range, which makes the screen completely disappear. 'Talk about immersion! Has anyone here played with it? Anyone here know any more about it?
  8. After a bit of research to refresh my memory, I confirmed that a functional parachute was invented, and used, prior to WWI, usually from hot air balloons at County Fairs. In WWI, balloon observers were issued with chutes. How come then, that in OFF/WOFF and ROF, we've yet to see somebody bailing out?
  9. How come no parachutes?

There was a bailout option? I'm assuming this was prior to P3? And was bailing out of planes, or balloons?
  10. WOFF Installation

I installed it without a hitch.
  11. How come no parachutes?

This was Pol's response: "Because it takes time, every single tiny option or feature can take an incredible amount of time proportionally. One day maybe."
  12. How come no parachutes?

Perhaps I was not clear; I meant why don't we see observers bailing out of balloons when we joyously send them down in flames?
  13. Can't get over how good SweetFX is!

It does get pretty 'shiny' at times, but I rationalize that as simply 'freshly doped wings'. Perhaps our expectations are different because I spent 30 years in California, and you could probably stand in your doorway and chuck a rock into the North Sea.
  14. A Big Thank you to Hauksbee

Perhaps he used the proceeds from the TrackIR sale to underwrite the development of the new Snipe?
  15. Can't get over how good SweetFX is!

That's putting it a bit strong. (except for multi-player) I think ROF still takes home the marbles for color, shadows and atmosphere (except for overcast days. If you fancy dreary weather, then WOFF rules). True, WOFF is much improved, and the ArisClouds and Sweet FX make it better yet. But I think the overall coloration must be an artifact of the CFS3 engine.
  16. Check out some OFF mods for WOFF

Do you have anything that brightens up tracer rounds?
  17. OT Hero's sometimes have four legs :)

I am pleasantly surprised that, with the austerities of war-time Britain, Peter was allowed meat at all. I'm even more pleased that Peter, and Taylor, recognized that 'no meat' was a breach of contract and successfully struck for payment of wages.
  18. A Big Thank you to Hauksbee

Yes, the cat took to playing with the dangling wires (it was hanging on a bookshelf), pulled it down and got rough on the headset part. I told Beanie that condition of the gift was that he'd have to do the field repairs. 'Seems it worked out well. And, I do have a new one. Once you use TrackIR, there's no going back. . Welcome back to you. I trust you had a good relaxing time home in E. Frieseland?
  19. A Big Thank you to Hauksbee

The pleasure is mine. 'Glad it worked out.
  20. What with WOFF, and the Skin Pack, us pilots are faced with an embarrassment of riches. When flying OFF, I recall it was tedious scrolling down through all the skins to find a favorite. What to do when faced with over 6000? Would it be possible to duplicate the Skins folder so you'd have a 'Skins' and a 'Skins-Copy'? Then delete everything in 'Skins' and re-populate with favorites copied over from the original, i.e., 'Skins-Copy'?
  21. Sounds good to me. Thanks.
  22. In all the swirl of news and excitement about WOFF, I've missed the final word on multi-player. Will there be any? If I do a Roland two-seater campaign, can I get a human gunner? . ps: check Hellshades new videos on WOFF. The new bullets 'near miss' sounds will have you flinching in spite of yourself.
  23. Yikes! CFS 3 is one ugly duckling...

It was, indeed, horrible. When I first saw "Microsoft European Theatre", I had to have it. It was head and shoulders above anything else at the time, great pixelated clouds and all. Then "CSF2 Pacific Theatre" came out. I thought it would be even better, but it disappointed, with its Pop Art comic book graphics. "CFS3" was the last 'hoo-rah' and it was simply flaccid. Its colors were washed out, and they even cut back on the number of planes offered. Planes that you had got used to flying in 'ETO'. So, I continued flying 'ETO' for years, until I discovered OFF P3.
  24. Is WOFF strictly solo flying?

Greetings, Duck! 'Good to know you're still out there.
