  1. Being a 'Quick Combat' flyer, I don't fully understand this 'immersion' thing, and the ever on-going quest for more of it. Where does it end? When your shell-shocked hand is trembling too much to hold the stick? How about if you don't fly at least one mission every two days, you're charged with desertion and the game shuts down? Whereupon, the Devs convene a Court of Inquiry. Fines could be paid in French brandy. (that's 'real French Brandy') As a stop-gap measure, it is December. One could simply open all the windows in the house. Wives, and girlfriends going bats**t could be treated as flak over the target.
  2. That clinches it! I'm off to do some shopping.
  3. This is sounding like a wonderful idea!
  4. WOFF Website is up!

My Dr.1 in the back yard is fueled, armed; the engine is idling. Wheels up at a moments notice
  5. Agreed. It seems we can see some air between the pilot's shoulders and the fuselage.
  6. To the best of your knowledge, Olham, did German pilots have any complaints about cockpit layout?
  7. I think it's the red, glinting eyes and the whiteness of the fangs. Disturbing, to be sure, but a clear sign that "Huns have more fun!"
  8. Right! He who uses it to best effect, owns it!
  9. Now, tell me this isn't two weeks off?
  10. More Digital 'Art'

That's some outstanding work, Dej. Good camera angle. What software do you use? I started with Strata in '94, then Carrara 'til 2000, then about six years of Animation Master,; now I've added Maya and 3dCOAT (a Russian-writ, voxel-based sculpting app.) I have always yearned for a OFF calendar. I've watched the screenies section for a while now, squirreling away candidates. Is there any interest out there?
  11. Beautiful, Olham. I was laughing all the way to the floor. But your head doesn't have to travel far to get slammed. You're certainly familiar with the desktop toy that has six hanging steel balls? Pull back #1 and let it go. #6 jumps. #2, 3, 4, and 5 simply transmit the shock. But if they could speak...
  12. Very nice. I had heard about the small size of the Me-109's cockpit. Allied pilots said that it was hard to move the stick from full left to full right without banging into your knees. (never knew that the breech of the cannon poked back into the cockpit, tho') In the same article, they went on to say that the German pilots who had the opportunity to fly captured P-51's and P-47 Thunderbolts felt (as you'd expect) that they were sitting in a bath tub and had to "reach long distances..." for throttle, flaps, trim, etc.
  13. Great find! I'm sure you'll look smashing in it.
  14. Great story! Loved the bit where he "smacks his gunner alert" because an E.III is boring in. And when he crashes in the hop field and ends up under the 775 lb. engine, and the Aussies come out, lift it off him, then drop it.
  15. Naw, it's the other myth. The one where the pale yellow ball keeps the woad-painted Picts on their side of Hadrians Wall.
  16. Probably the first time you've seen the sun over the Tyne in how long...?
  17. Just had to check out the pics for a second time. This time, I paid closer attention to the opening statement over the sunrise: "Whilst we wait patently for an answer here's some screenshots from the expansion pack for the expansion pack pack expansion, OK from WOFF then;" I'll assume that 'patently' waiting, is simply a typo, but "here's some screenshots from the expansion pack for the expansion pack pack expansion, OK from WOFF then" is real puzzler. I recall someone saying that it's been four yeas since P3. Our Devs have been at it for the length of the entire war. Can it be that the boyos are feeling the strain? . Not to put too fine a point on it, but what is the question that they're awaiting an answer for? No doubt something of little import, but, at this point, when expectations are at a fevered pitch, every snippet of information matters.
  18. AARRRHHH! Sweet Jaysus! I didn't do the Raybans, and m'eyes are going numb. Well, serves me right. I am the guy who keeps asking, "Aren't there any bright, sunny days on the Western Front?" (as an aside, I'd vote the last two as being the knock-outs. I think I see some new wallpaper.)
  19. Relying on my razor-sharp intuition, I'm going to out on a limb here and predict that we'll have WOFF for Christmas.
  20. Going out on a limb...

...then recite your list into a video camera and post it on YouTube. That way, Santa will know that everybody else knows and if he doesn't come through for you, he's going to look really bad and folks will stop believing. And if he doesn't, maybe sympathetic viewers will.
  21. Going out on a limb...

I'll second that! I've already bought a couple as gifts. A couple more won't strain the exchequer
