  1. Thoughts about OFF sales.

Marketing strategies aside, I think sales would soar if OFF could get more exposure. I suggested in a parallel thread [website kudo's] that it's time to get a dramatic cover on the DVD. I don't play many games, but I love all things 3D/CG and cannot walk past a game store to see what's new. Wouldn't it be cool to see OFF posters taped to the windows? I can't help but feel if PC flyers knew what was in the game, it would sell itself.
  2. Hey! You're halfway there. You can do the rest tomorrow.
  3. You should have mentioned that over 63% of current WWI pilots have been shot down at least once by their wives. Never saw it coming.
  4. Terrific make-over on the website! Now's the time to go the extra mile [easy for me to say] and tart up the DVD cover. Put some of those fine screen shots to use. Show the unbelievers that there's high drama and hours of white-knuckle flying inside.
  5. First time i've seen this

After a hard-fought dogfight in QC with a gang of foes, [especially at dawn when the light can be so beautiful] I'll suddenly find that I've been aimlessly flying around, just looking at stuff. At other times I enjoy picking out a field and practicing touch-and-go landings.
  6. A close shave for Manfred

That gets my vote for the most miraculous escape....
  7. 91 yrs ago today

Yes. Happened right after Cromwell signed the Magna Carta.
  8. A question about MvR

I would suspect he would not have been the high scorer he was with Germany. It was a different kind of fight. The classical Dawn Patrol had Allied planes flying east, into the sun, clawing for altitude. The Germans, who could sleep later, were waiting, thereby having the attack advantage. Allied planes had missions to carry out. The German mission was simply to stop them. Allied planes had tail winds going to the target, head winds on the return leg. Bad for those wounded, engines running badly or low on fuel. Richtofen [Germans pilots in general] would pick off these stragglers. Last, Allied pilots flew a tour of duty; the Germans, as in WWII, flew for the duration.
  9. early war suggestions for Phase 4

That metallic sound you hear is Olham checking the action on his Spandaus.
  10. Manfred von Richtofen was shot down in France.
  11. Random QC Enemy Aircraft choice?

QC already has unlimited ammo. And unlimted fuel. My plate is full. My tank runneth over.
  12. Recently, to up the ante a bit, I've been taking on 2-seaters in QC. Strictly a one-on-one duel and regularly getting my butt handed to me. Now, I've not seen C.II's from all units, but they do not seem to have acquirred a taste for flashy paint scheme's like the fighter squadrons. Am I correct in this, and if so, does anyone know why?
  13. Those bland Roland C.II's....

In that case, I'm sure I will find them. Fact is, I've only just started to tangle with 2-seaters and have not methodically chosen a new Jasta every time. When Bullethead mentioned the fish scale pattern, it did ring a bell, tho' it's been some time since I first ran across it.
  14. Just wondering. It's nice to have a rear view mirror, and I see clouds drifting by, and sun glare, but I've never seen an enemy aircraft...not even when tracer is streaming past my ears.
  15. Random QC Enemy Aircraft choice?

I'd take 'em if I could get 'em, but for the moment I'd like QC to automatically send in another batch after I shoot down the first.
  16. hmm maybe somthing to make

The choices seem to be [1] jumping into a Cuisanart, or, [2] being centrifuged to death. Not much to choose between.
  17. OFF P3 is.....

    Dicta Siggi. [good advice]
  18. Bloody great show! But this flying-under-bridges is going to get you grounded. Loved the heart-breaking stall just as the Zepp started to burn. I could feel you trying to hold the nose up for just another few seconds.
  19. Experimental? Are you modifying a known historical design, or building from the ground up? I ask because I can't recall ever seeing a hex or lozenge pattern on any Allied planes.
  20. Mine arrived in two weeks as I recall. Which I considered lightning-fast. When I got the original e-mail announcing OFF and asking if I'd buy a WWI sim that looked like this, I shot back a resounding YES! and promptly forgot about it. I really thought it would [1] take years, [2] undoubtably founder somewhere along the line. It just looked to good to be true. So when it was announced as ready, I was happily shocked. I wrote a check with smoke coming off the end of my pen, and as for delivery...the certainty that it was coming trumped any number of days in transit. Glad to see that I am not alone in reviling CFS3. Those responsible for ruining CFS1 should be publicly flogged...or given E.III's and sent to Paris.
  21. hmm maybe somthing to make

So how does the observer avoid two contra-rotating propellars when he bails out?
  22. Bug Still?

I've mentioned this in another thread, but after I installed the 1.28 Patch I earned four DFC's and a VC inside of 48 hours. And in QC!
  23. SURVIVED a collision today!

Very cool! Congrats on the escape.
