OFF P4 information please.
Hasse Wind replied to redpiano's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
The DVD version has been very difficult to find for several years now. I was fortunate enough to find one brand new copy last year, just in case my old CFS3 CDs from 2002 stop working one of these days. -
Like any sim, OFF has its problems and limitations, but only RB3D managed to achieve the same level of immersion as OFF. And this is P3 we're talking about. In P4, immersion seems to reach completely new heights!

A Graphics Card Upgrade In Anticipation of OFF 2
Hasse Wind replied to RAF_Louvert's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
I'm currently saving money for a rig that should be able to run all the sims I play with maximum settings. I'm tired of having to reduce graphics quality because my Neolithic PC can't handle maximum settings. Now if only money grew on trees... -
Ooops! Some don't even need Enemies
Hasse Wind replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
I think it's an Aviatik B.I or B.II It was used extensively in pilot training, and I'm sure the guy who hit that tree wasn't the most experienced pilot around. EDIT: Was supposed to write Aviatik, not Albatros. -
Well, that's the end of Rise of Flight.

Well said. -

I have both sims and I enjoy them very much. They both have their own strengths and weaknesses. I'm always excited when I see new developments for both. -
Song in a YouTube Video causes nausea to me
Hasse Wind replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
These are difficult questions. I don't support any censorship, but I do understand how such music can be used wrong and how much it can offend people. -
Song in a YouTube Video causes nausea to me
Hasse Wind replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Horst-Wessel-Lied was just not a military march, it was THE march of the Nazi Party. It was typically played together with the German national anthem in the Third Reich. The words praise Hitler and the sacrifices of the Nazi party members in their struggle for power. -
Song in a YouTube Video causes nausea to me
Hasse Wind replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Unfortunately that movie is not very accurate historically. And the limited budget really shows in some places. A much better and realistic look at what kind of a man Hitler was is Der Untergang (English title Downfall). Bruno Ganz does a frighteningly good job at portraying Hitler. Regarding YouTube, that place is full of Nazi supporters and Nazi music. -
I'm hoping the devs will drop us a hint or two when it really is two weeks before release.

A Small Suggestion For OFF2 P4
Hasse Wind replied to RAF_Louvert's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Why am I not surprised that whatever we can think of, has already been included in P4? -
Did Werner Voss have a brother?
Hasse Wind replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
And Leutnant Scheffer needs to eat something. He's practically starving! -

I bet the devs know, but they're so mean that they won't tell. -

Everything looks better. It's February now. Will P4 come out soon? -
For Two-Seater Fans, who can read German
Hasse Wind replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
That site is one of my favourites. I've had it bookmarked for years. Bullethead, that Google translator is an unpredictable beast. Sometimes it performs adequately, but often it produces absolutely horrible results, mangling the language brutally (and hilariously). I've found out that it works better for some languages, and terribly for others. -
That's great. Too bad I don't speak French. War diaries and such are often (not always) exciting reading and really bring you close to the events of those days. Generally speaking, they are much more reliable sources than any memoirs written years after the events took place.

I've also experienced the drop in FPS in cloudy weather. It's much more marked in OFF than in RoF. Despite the drop OFF stays quite playable for me, but if my rig was any less powerful, I'm sure I'd be in trouble.

I've seen her pic before. She's definitely pretty, but those late 19th century - early 20th century hairstyles for women are definitely not. If Udet had been a modern pilot, it would have been LOL!, not LO!

Manfred von Richthofen's Legacy
Hasse Wind replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Hmm, sounds like a conspiracy theory. Did Oberleutnant Reinhard plan von Richthofen's demise? Time to put your tin foil hats on! Seriously speaking, that's a rare document to have survived for so long. -
Damn, that's one tough guy! And more than a little bit lucky.

Could be some early B.E.2. They look somewhat different than the classic B.E.2c. That guy had some really bad, but also good luck! -
Bristol M1c Monoplane
Hasse Wind replied to blackbaron427's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Well, that's definitely more important than the Bristol. Nowhere near the top of list though, I'm afraid. -
Think of P4 and all the hours you'll be spending with your favourite bird, the Snipe.

Bristol M1c Monoplane
Hasse Wind replied to blackbaron427's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
When they start making the plane expansion pack for P4, I'm sure the Bristol will be included at some point. But let's face the historical facts - it was an extremely unimportant aircraft, and there are literally dozens of more important crates that should be in the sim before the Bristol. -
Twilight of the War Horse
Hasse Wind replied to Capitaine Vengeur's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Actually, Göring was a professional infantry officer and served on the Western front as one before rheumatism incapacitated him. After he had recovered, he joined the flying troops. WW1 was undoubtedly the swan song of the cavalry arm. However, horses continued to play an important role even during WW2. Only the American and British armies were completely motorized by then, all the others relied heavily on horse transport for supplies and artillery, even Germany.
