Yeah, I was also expecting him to open fire with those Lewises: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p31mw0WPGrk Now when do we get those sound to OFF?
-
Wonderful! There's even a rare Fokker D.VI!
-
Oh, I see - these must be the employees of the popular barbershop Von Paulus mentioned a few weeks ago. Many pilots go there regularly, I hear.

I hate Brisfits in OFF when I'm flying a German career. The two main reasons for my hatred are clearly visible in that video. Having two rear guns is almost like cheating!

Does anyone fly the Fokker E.III by choice?
Hasse Wind replied to Hauksbee's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
True, but there were also some early crates that were very easy to handle, like the BE.2. But then it was so steady and slow that it became dangerous for pilots when the first real fighters appeared to challenge it. -
Eating Japanese kitchens, even light ones, sounds bad for your health, Fukushima or no. I lost my personal Battle of the Bulge years ago. I'm now only trying to maintain the size of the bulge, so that it doesn't grow into Bismarckian dimensions.

Looks like a true Prussian soldier. And the illustrations are great!

I think the main reason for its reputation was that it used a synchronized machine gun, while the Entente had none. As an aircraft, it was mediocre at best. I can't say I've flown the Einie too much, just a few short campaigns. I'm sure I'd fly it more if OFF had more of the early war aircraft included. I hope this will be the case in P4. -
An Eiserner Halbmond Will Soon Be In My WWI Aviation Collection

Nice find. Now you're going to need another uniform to pin that on to. Have you already started to look for a WW1 German uniform? -
I'm also very sorry for the loss of your friend, Olham. I've discovered that time is indeed the great healer. Words may sound hollow, but in time, all sorrows will fade and become easier to bear.

I wonder why it's called the Kaiser's Bunker? Willy was not very fond of bunkers, he preferred expensive hotels and spas. Very informative stuff, and plenty of Pickelhauben pics too, the most useless but good-looking helmet ever invented.

I've always followed those instructions to the letter when installing OFF and I've never encountered any problems. That means they are idiot-proof.

Take a look at this at overflandersfields.com: http://overflandersfields.com/FAQ.htm#Installation_and_settings

Welcome back, Olham.

Well, number 1 is included in both dates, and number 7 looks almost like number 1, while number 9 resembles 0, so it's pretty close, overall. Not really. Get some help, quickly!

Looking forward to the next chapter.

My guess is some time next year. But if the devs decide to release it in two weeks, I won't object.

If I may ask, did you have any previous experience from such security work? Or do they give you all the training you need at the airport? I'm curious, because I don't know much about airport security, in addition to what every passenger who has jumped through all the hoops in order to be able to board a plane knows. -

Good luck. And remember to be as rude as possible. That's a sign of true security professionals. -
That Renault tank weighs 6.5 tonnes, so that's a powerful truck carrying it. Very interesting pics. It took until WW2 for warfare to become really mechanized though, and even then only two armies, the British and the American, were truly completely mechanized, ie. not relying on draught animals for transportation of men and equipment in the front. The German and Soviet armies were famous (and for good reasons) for their mechanized forces, but they still had a large number of horses for moving guns and supplies. (And in the harsh weather conditions of the Eastern Front, horses were often more reliable than machines.) When WW1 broke out, most armies had a very limited number of trucks available to them, and because they came from so many different manufacturers and had so many mechanical problems, it was truly a logistical nightmare to keep all of them in working order. For example the German army had most of their trucks out of action after the first couple of months of offensive warfare in 1914. But just like aircraft, trucks and cars were greatly improved during the four years of war, though the progress was perhaps not as dramatic as in the field of aviation. It would be fun to drive one of those ancient trucks. Must be quite different from the modern high-tech vehicles.

OT, but only a little bit.

Yes, some navies experimented with submarines carrying aircraft between the wars. I think the Japanese used them most extensively, but they never completed the construction of the majority of such subs. Considering the huge distances of the Pacific Ocean, it was a very good idea to use such stealthy "bases" for reconnaissance aircraft. -
Excellent reading, please keep it up.

I get e-mails telling me that I've one the lottery quite often. And then there's this prince in Nigeria, who wishes to transfer a million dollars from his bank account and he needs my help with it. So maybe I'll get rich soon.
