Brand new DM and FM now ready!
Hasse Wind replied to Herr Prop-Wasche's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
HPW, not me! OFF P3 with HPW's, Creaghorn's and Bletchley's mods is simply the best WW1 sim available currently. Looking forward to this release. -
OT Lovely way to spend an evening

First I read that the fish was floating on a dog biscuit. That would have been a truly Pythonesque situation. Nice catch. -

Hopefully we won't be seeing any big formations of Eindeckers at all in P4. Those early fighters were never used in such large formations as the late war aircraft. It would be nice to have the historical organisation of various types of aviation units modelled in OFF some day, so that for example the early FFAs would have their six two-seaters and one or two Einies to support them. If not in P4, then maybe in P5? -

The war will be almost over when the Snipe comes into service. But maybe those few weeks will be enough for Widowmaker to get his pilot killed, Snipe or no Snipe? -
I know how you feel, Wayfarer. I had the same experience last year. I had backups of everything important, except my OFF pilots.

Agreed. And let's not forget the Americans! One of the reasons why I'm constantly requesting new French aircraft for P4 is actually the American air force. The late war French two-seaters were used by the Americans too. And it would make sense to add the aircraft that saw service in many squadrons and air forces first. -

That BE.12 is going to be a great addition to early war careers. Now let's see some French machines. Yes, I'm going to keep repeating myself in every screenshot thread until you show them. -
A brush with fate - Meeting the Red Baron in the Campaign
Hasse Wind replied to Hellshade's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
It's encounters like this one which make flying OFF missions so exciting. I remember when I encountered a red Albatros near Arras in the spring of 1917. I was flying an RE.8, and we were attacked by Jasta 11, lead by Freiherr v. Richthofen himself. Fortunately we had some Pups escorting us, so we were able to retreat almost unharmed. Scared the hell out of me, though! -
Second Albatros D.Va flying !

It's amazing that those engines are still available, even if some parts are missing. The Mercedes D.III series of engines was very common, but still - it's been over 90 years. -

I wonder what kind of engines they use for these replicas? The one Alb they built in Austria actually had an original Mercedes engine for it, but I imagine that is quite rare. -

She has the right attitude. OFF missions are important. -
A Question about Internet Safety

Ever since I started using Adblock Plus in my Firefox, I haven't been troubled by ads. It's a free add-on to the browser and works really well. -
The best comic books certainly come from France.

Beautiful. Now how about a Breguet or a Salmson next? Or maybe a Dorand AR? -
Eliminate stutters by setting Max Frps
Hasse Wind replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Your PC is probably so good that it can smoothly run OFF with much higher fraps, therefore making the 30 fps feel like really slow in comparison. Limiting the fps shouldn't make the performance worse in general, as far as I know. I use an fps limiter when playing the Other Sim, and it works well. But of course I'm no PC guru. -

An improved AI? Sounds great. There haven't been any AI discussions here recently, so it's good to know that you haven't forgotten the subject. -
P4 DEVELOPMENT SCREENSHOTS Discussion
Hasse Wind replied to DukeIronHand's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
It's so easy to please flight sim people. I bet the devs sometimes wish they had made a first person shooter instead of a WW1 flight sim. Their audience would be somewhat less demanding, I imagine. -
I think that the best guess is better than nothing. If nobody knows anymore how some rare WW1 crate behaved in real life, then the devs can do what they feel is right and nobody can complain about it. But for all the important ones, there certainly exists at least some data that describes their characteristics. I feel there's really no need to add some extremely rare machine that saw very little use, or none at all, during the war until all the important ones are in the sim. And reaching that goal is definitely going to take some time.

Before building any new British two-seaters, I'd like to ask that some of the most important French ones take precedence. The French have none of their own two-seaters in P3, which is not good, considering they had the biggest air force among the Entente powers. But of course I'll sign this petition.

If you do get too old, don't forget to take your walking stick to Flanders. You can use it drive off annoying young people if they happen to come too close to your tent. I must make a new trip to Italy some day. It's truly a beautiful country, the food and drink are great, and you can practically walk among ancient history there.

Olham, don't forget the Nupe 24 and 24bis that also came with HitR. And the Fokker E.V. Wasn't that one in HitR too?

Sounds like an interesting place. Maybe it will be included in P4. Anyway, if the devs next post a screenshot of a new French two-seater, everything would be perfect in my small world. -

Italy is a beautiful country. I was there for a few days last summer. Lake Trasimeno? Did you see the ghost of Hannibal and his elephants there?
