  1. An interesting recipe. I'll have to try it one of these days. Not that I'm trying to avoid carbohydrates. They are my friends.
  2. OT: "-30-"

I don't care if it happened like that in real life or not, because the pic is simply awesome!
  3. WW1 Armor

Urban environments really even out the odds of tanks of against infantry. But in open ground, I wouldn't want to be an infantryman facing a tank assault.
  4. Looks good to me. Something different from the usual German camos. I wonder if the Austro-Hungarian camo works even better in the alpine terrain of Northern Italy? Because that's where the majority of the Austrian aircraft were operating in.
  5. Matt's first Jousting Lesson

That should be a mandatory hobby for modern day aristocracy. If somebody refuses to participate, he should be stripped of his rank. Make them earn their upkeep, like they did in Medieval times!
  6. WW1 Armor

Artillery conquers, infantry occupies. In both world wars, it was the artillery that did most of the destruction and caused most of the casualties.
  7. Albatross D.Va D.5390/17

Thanks, I was hoping to see a pic like that.
  8. WW1 Armor

Any tank is a serious threat to an infantryman. But I guess if you had been in one of those fancy M1 Abrams MBTs, you wouldn't have been so impressed by the T-55.
  9. Albatross D.Va D.5390/17

Yes, I agree with Olham. It does sound very un-German to use such makeshift measures, especially with expensive instruments. However, I'm definitely not an expert in these things. Would be interesting to see some photos of those German anemometres attached to aircraft.
  10. OT-New Flying Things...

I'm still waiting for the flying cars they advertised already in the 1960s.
  11. Tad Drastic

Okay, enough is enough. This thread is not bringing anything useful to the OFF community.
  12. Albatross D.Va D.5390/17

Somebody remove the absinthe dispenser from this man's SPAD!
  13. WW1 Armor

You can see tanks in OFF even when they weren't yet in use historically. In one of my British 1915 careers, I saw tanks rolling forward on a road. I just pretended I didn't really see anything. Or maybe they were top secret prototypes.
  14. Very interesting. I knew practically nothing about Austro-Hungarian camouflage. Now I do.
  15. Hello all

Be careful when jousting with the fish.
  16. I bet you could use those patterns to hypnotize somebody!
  17. How annoying it must have been for the German prison guards and officers to be forced to watch over such creative POWs. No escape idea seems to have been too crazy for them.
  18. So, it's the Flying Furniture? Nice!
  19. Hey, that looks great! Not nearly as psychedelic as the pink Fokker or the bizarre BE.2.
  20. Let's keep this civil, gentlemen. For some reason, discussion about digital distribution methods often becomes very personal. It's almost like religion or politics! In my opinion, it would be a good thing for OFF to be available in as many formats and stores as possible. But I can't see OFF becoming available for example in Steam until Combat Flight Simulator 3 does. No CFS3, no OFF.
  21. Bizarre Quirk

There's something very Lovecraftian about those geometrical patterns...
  22. It doesn't quite look like the model used in WW1 aircraft. I wonder if it was meant for something else?
  23. The SPAD cockpit has an absinthe dispenser on one side.
  24. Austrian Fighters

Thanks for posting, Bullethead. I think that these aircraft production numbers can be used to describe the problems of the Austro-Hungarian war effort in general. Their industry simply wasn't up to the task of fighting a total war for many years on several fronts. It didn't help matters that the alliance with Germany was in many ways so troubled and there was a serious lack of true cooperation between the two nations.
