The Royal Hohenzollern House Order was a prussian order. See here: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/K%C3%B6niglic...on_Hohenzollern You get it after 15 kills. All my german pilots got it then so far. I suggest it's a bug that you always get 4 Iron Crosses. There were only three classes. See here: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eisernes_Kreuz Well, there was also a Grand Cross which was arwarded once called "Hindenburgstern". Guess who received it!
-
Well, that's strange. I only get 2 of them. Then, after 15 kills, I get the Royal Hohenzollern House Order. After 20 kills, I get the Pour le Merite.
-
Olham, how can you have 4 Iron Crosses? Now german ever received 4 of them, there were only two classes!

I just took a look at the map of OFF and I saw that Northern Italy is on the map. So I would like to know if we will ever get the opportunity to fly with italian and austrian units fighting in the Battles of the Isonzo?

Does nobody know???

I only flew the DVII in some QC so far, but as I have experienced, It can take a few hits. It's not weaker than other german planes I think. And I also think that the DVII is a great plane. Very fast and also as agile as the Dr.I. I feel almost invincible flying that plane!

Does anyone now if there is a file where I can change the condition to get a medal? I want to make it more difficult to get the red eagle order, so that I need 70 instead of 30 kills to get this award.
-
Yes, i am! In RB3d I killed Albert Ball, Billy Bishop, Raoul Lufberry, René Fonck, Georges Guynemer and Robert Little in one career. My total tally: 153 Now I would really like to do this again in OFF... By the way, Geoges Guynemer was the toughest enemy I ever fought. As I was flying in an Albatros D.V alone over enemy territory, I was attacked by his entire squadron flying SPADs VII. He was flying a SPAD XIII. In a heavy dogfight, I managed to hit Guynemer and I saw him jumping from his plane when it burst into flames. It was quite satisfying to read the newspaper the next day which reported that Gorges Guynemer had been killed in aerial combat.

It's a little frustrating to shoot down an ace several times but he's not dead... Does anyone now if this will be changed by the devs in the future? I remember that in RB3d it was possible to kill aces.

Sorry, but I think it's 91 years now

Of course there was no fixed number of kills a pilot needed to get the Red Eagle Order, but as MvR needed 70, I think that getting it after 30 kills is far from reality (in my campaign it's march 1917 now). There also was no fixed number of kills to get the Pour le Merite. Immelmann and Boelcke got it after 8 kills, MvR after 16, most pilots in 1917 needed 20 kills to get it (Like me, I also got it after 20 kills even if it was in 1916  ) and in 1918 you usually needed more than 20. I also think that no pilot in WWI had to get 10 kills to get the EKI. By the way, I don't play DiD as I have "die roll on death" enabled. In DiD it gets quite frustrating when the pilot even dies in a small crash on the airfield...

I was just awarded the Red Eagle Order when my 30th kill was confirmed. Manfred von Richthofen was awarded that Order after his 70th kill, so I think that's far from reality (actually, MvR was the only WWI fighter pilot who got that medal). I think something should be changed in the way the german medals are awarded. In WWI a german pilot usually also did not have to wait till he had 5 kills untill he got the EKII. The EKI was also not only awarded after 10 kills. I think, the EK II should be awarded after the first kill (like in RB3d), the EKI after 5 kills. The Royal Hohenzollern House Order should be awarded after 15 kills and the Pour le Merite after 20 kills. To get the Red Eagle Order, you should have shot down at least 70 enemy aircraft like MvR. Cheers!

I also played RB3D untill i got OFF3. I think there are some pros and cons for both sims. One of the pros of RB3D, as I already mentioned in a different thread, is that you are the only on flying with your skin when you choose an individual painting. Of course, it's more realistic in RB3D that when an ace is shot down he is really dead. I also like the short movies when I get a medal or when something important in the war has happened. But I like OFF3 more because the graphics are far better. In addition, I think the FM is far more realistic (of course I have never flown a WWI aircraft, so I could be wrong ). OFF3 is just great sim!

Well that's right. It's just a little thing. We will see if the devs change it or not. But if they do or not, of course it's a great sim and i'm quite happy that there is a WWI flight sim after such a long time!
