Anybody using a Sidewinder Pro joystick with Vista?
Macklroy replied to Hauksbee's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Glad to hear its up and running Hauk. In my opinion the sidewinder is the best stick out there still. I find the feel of it just right. I've used countless others and found nothing better. Best stick with the best WWI flight sim. Can't go wrong. -

Usb connection i'm assuming Hauk? Just plug and play. I love my sidewinder. When microsoft stopped making them I (cried a little and then) went on E-bay myself and immediately picked up 3! I've used it with xp / vista and now 7 with no problems. I've never installed drivers, just let windows do its thing. The drawback is you cant use the sidewinder keymaping and profiles, but most flight sims let you keymap within game so its not such an issue. In short. Do what Shiloh said. Give a shout if you still have issues. -
How do you fly campaigns? (workshop option)
Macklroy posted a topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
I was currious how other OFF'ers played their campaigns. When Hat In The Ring was released with the ability to fly with a personal ace skin I was very excited. But flying with that option ment you could no longer adjust fuel lvls. Now I never messed with that much when I was first starting out. But the difference between an albatros at 50% fuel and one with the tanks topped off is like night and day. Now I will only fly with managed fuel levels, in an attempt to level the playing field against the "physics impaired AI" and just to get every little bit of performance from my bird as I can. To the point. I was just currious about other pilots opinions. How do you fly the campaigns? Individual Ace skin or fuel and ammo management. And what is your experience between the two. -
Something similar in musical form. *warning* - Adult language involved. View discretion is advised. The video is just a compolation of random vids and pics but the lyrics are simply fantastic! DosGringos have quite a collection of fantastic songs like this.

Sorry, I saw Cuba Gooding and jumped to conclusions that others were as well my appologies. But yes, Cuba Gooding jr. is in both films.

Looks neat....but didn't they make this movie already? Even with alot of the same actors....oh well, more CGI = more bang, bang.

Wanted to start an early war scout campaign and decided on the bristol scout. RFC-11 came up as one of the available squadrons to fly for that was equiped with the bristol. First mission here is what my plane looked like, as well as all of the other planes in the sqn. I then went into Quick Combat to check out the other skins for the bristol scout. Turns out there isnt a RFC-11 skin available to pick. There is however a RFC-12 skin which is also interesting because there is no RFC-12....at least not in game. Anyone else run accross this or am I OD'ing on the crazy pills again?
-
Try RFC - 11 Olham. Doesn't appear in the 'available skins' menu. But if you set up a RFC 11 campaign you can see it there. Unless somehow yours is not bugged.
-
Very fine then. Makes the chaps easier to spot in a crowd to be sure.

In my past experiences with mods and pc gaming. JSGME = Don't touch with a fifty foot pole. But then again, those are just "MY" experiences. -

Hahahaha, and the boss thinks I'm unproductive now. Wait until p4 comes out. He'll have to outright fire me! Great looking stuff guys. -
Didnt notice any difference in performance with high or reg res skins on either one of my machines Duke.
-
perfect pic for this discusion right there Olham. The normal res skins just look fuzzy compared to the highres. You can even easily read any and all lettering on highres skins. Not always true with the normal. Just small details in the overall scheme. But isn't OFF all about the small details.
-
Olham, I 'only" fly the high res skins. I can never see the tiny little holes anyway, and all "major" damage is still displayed with high res.

Oh, very nice Olham thank you! Updated desktop. Let's hope I dont jinx our new jasta ace. It's no wonder why you love this bird. I only hope that once I start seeing spads and se5s regularly that I'll be able to survive! -

What Side Do You Fly For and Why?
Macklroy replied to Dave's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
I've flown both sides, simply because I wanted to get the entire WWI sim experience. I love the Fokker DII (the most 'foolproof' aircraft in the game in this pilots opinion). The se5a for me is second, although a distant second. But France is the country I most fly for. In this sim mainly because I enjoy the early years. Taking a flight up over the lines and maybe I run into the enemy, maybe I don't. I love that asspect that you dont see as much later in the war. The 'fokker scourge' and the introduction of the 'bebe'. I simply love that little bird. Although the meger armament make it less leathal than it otherwise could be. To make a long story short. I fly for ALL countries, but more exclusively French 1915-(early)1917. -
Got more flying time out of EAW (European Air War) than all of my other sims combined. Played it for the better part of 7 years. Although not the best 'graphically' (which a lot of folks judge a game/sim) none of the other sims ever matched its scale. All of the IL2 serries really failed in that respect. I do believe with the addition of p4 though it will rapidly get closer to 50-50. I haven't played another sim for more than a few hours since I picked up OFF.

Esc 26 and Jasta 26 very intersting coincedence (sp). Good luck with the bebe Olham. One word of warning. Watch your stress limitations in the nieuport. She is like a magestic wild stallion. Fast, agile, and just a treat to ride. But treat her wrong and she'll throw ya to the rattlers quick as a flash. -

TaillyHo - Just as deadly though. And nice shot there TH. Theultimat - Could have been your chaps we tangled with today sir. Jumped by pups on our way to intercept 2-seaters. Welcome to the forums and the game! Most fun I've had in a sim since i got into the genre. Olham- Don't I know it sir. Latest encounter can attest to that. Full write up in reports forum shortly. -

Since Olham said he would give the nieuport another try I decided to give the albatross another try. I went with Jasta 26 mainly because they have the cool black and white stripped albys. Which always seemed to be the group that hassled me the most durring my RFC-56 campaign in the se5a. They are an "elite" jasta as well so my wingmates actually help out considerably. Currently in Bloody april 1917 flying the early AlbIII. Starting to get some success now about 9 missions in with 4confirmed victories. Here is a shot of Max Vonbarger's 5th victory in as many days.
