Thanks Axe. I'm all set up with the TS info. Got it connected last night. A lot of helpfull info in the stickies. I'm west coast US. and prefer to fly Sun-Wed as i work weekends. But otherwise pretty flexible. S!

Oh Dang! Sorry to hear that Ras. Bummer that you lost all of your pilots in the mix.

Look here Ras. http://forum.combatace.com/topic/49282-changing-sqn-roster-names/ Just go into your "notepad" application. Find the correct pilotdossier file and edit the names. I also took the kills and claims to 0's for everyone. Gotta lvl the playing field. :)

Thanks to CH's sagely advice I got my Sqn roster page up and running now. Looks like I'm wingin up with you Ras. Still need to updated RedDog, Hog and CV's DiD avatar sqn names. But otherwise all set.

Hey guys, quick question for those smarter than I. How do I change the names of my sqn roster (and get them to stay! changed)? Instead of the names that are in there now, is there a way to edit them and have them be what you want? I thought I read in a post somewhere that you could edit the names. After some snooping around in the OFF folders I found some folders with german, british, and french campaign pilot names in a txt file. But even though I edited them and 'saved' the file, the names in the in game roster were still unchanged. Anywho, just thought i'd ask before the DiD campaign starts. I thought it would be cool to have Ruffus T. Firefly winging up with Sidney Williams, while W.L. Elder led the flight. S!

I will be starting the campaign on the 5th as planned. I don't have any experience flying the sturtter before this, and usually fly with TAC and warp. So there are a few things i'm practicing (like navigation), getting familiar with the area around my home field etc. I figgure i'll be as ready as i can be in a weeks time. Besides, whats the big rush to die.

Yup, I too got tired of cycling between the hundreds of ground targets while i was trying to track that Hun behind me.

Stiffy, on the topic of using padlock. I too am without the use of track IR. Using padlock is a bit tricky but i've adjusted the ingame settings to make it work for me. First of all you can cycle through the different target types that show up on the TAC buy pressing T. I usually adjust to only show Aircraft. Secondly, you can adjust the distance at which the TAC displays targets by pressing ctrl + shift + T. Again, I usually adjust mine to 1NM(nautical mile) Thirdly, turn OFF the TAC with Shift + T. Now when you cycle targets you will only be cycling between aircraft, and even then, only aircraft within 1mile. Sometimes switching between targets doesnt work without TAC up. In this case bringing TAC up for a split second to cycle to your enemy, then hiding it again. This is the only way i have found to be able to effectively fly without TAC and without track ir using the padlock function. As any other type of view is totally ineffective in combat. Im domestically "restricted" on any further purchases of electronic 'toys' for the rest of the tax year. LOL

Siggi, No. 2 RNAS (bomber sqn) starts on Nov 5th with Strutter 1.5s. That could be an option.

One quick last minor question for the British pilots Commander Louvert. Should we enlist in 3 Wing RNAS out of Ochey (bomber sqn), flying the strutter 1.5? Or are we enlisting in the fighter sqn RNAS 3 out of St-Pol-Su-Mer flying the same craft? I understand that we start out in bombers and progress to scouts as we progress through our campaign career. But in this instance both the bomber and the fighter sqns start out with the same aircraft. Oh, and RNAS 3 can start a career exactly on Nov 5th. While 3 Wing RNAS starts around Oct 23 or late November. S!

Just got back from an extended work week and spotted this thread. LOVE the idea siggi. Wish I could transfer my entire Virtual-sqn over to the excellent site you've created, but I'll settle for enlisting just one. I haven't had a chance to read up on the entire topic (again out the door for work) but it looks like a winner! Sign me up for the British! HUZZA!

Uncleal, I do infact have microsofts sidewinder 2 'precision pro'. I'm not sure what problems you've had with it in the past. Possibly configuration problems from the user. On my end however the stick works wonderfully. 100% full range of motion in the rudder with very stable imput. I have had 0 problems with it and it's effectiveness in manuvering the many different aircraft in OFF. So I DO have the audacity to say that my twist stick is NOT inferior in the range of motion and/or effectiveness to the 'pedals' as you say. To say it is just a step above auto rudder is infact almost a slap in the face. I'm not sure where you get your facts. But I'll be SURE not to get mine from you sir! That is all i have to say about that subject as it has now begun to overshadow the OPs main point. S~
