  1. English class in spain

One's own sphere always feels more securing and comfortable. Personally, there's a handful of French-speaking places where I'd like to end my life. Tahiti would sound fine, sure, but Geneva or Monaco would be acceptable choices too, had I a wallet as fat as a matress!

  3. Who....

Eating that many beans was a bad idea regarding air freshness and social balance around. But cooking beans with that much chilli oil was a disastrous idea regarding underwear's cleanliness and self-esteem...
  4. My Dear American Friends.....

A meaningful lesson, indeed... But I still prefer that one: Monty Python - The Meaning of Life

  8. Did anyone see a flotilla lately?

As bashing Bashar has already proved willing to blast on sight anything coming from Turkey without being announced, it's better not to make a second try just to be sure about.

"Charlie Hebdo" of course, the same mag and cartoonists that already poured oil on the fire during the Danish satirical cartoons affair in 2005. Their office has been assaulted or set aflame more than once, and the last time may have not come yet. As they usually bash absolutely everything at range, and therefore can't be suspected of being supported by the Zionist organisations, I wonder where they still can find insurers and lawyers to make up for their graphic gaffes? - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Remember that God is but a hypothesis. Anyone who pretends to have found The Truth in one single Book, has deliberately missed all of the other clues...
  10. File Name: Decorations for WW2 Luftwaffe - For SCW, BoB, WoA & WoR File Submitter: Capitaine Vengeur File Submitted: 21 September 2012 File Category: SF/WO* Hanger/Menu/Loadout This mod provides you with a pack of German decorations used within the WW2 Luftwaffe, and that appeared at various times during the global conflict, as well as ten panels covering the main free mods for WW2 European aerial campaigns produced for Thirdwire games: Battle of Britain by Baltika (map by Gepard) is available at CombatAce, while the three of Spanish Civil War, Wings over Africa and Wings over Russia are all-inclusive mods, collectively designed by The Dev A-Team, available at Capun Skunkworks (two eras 1941-43 and 1944-45 are distinguished for WoR). Each of these five eras and theaters of operations are divided in one panel for fighter pilots, and one for bomber pilots, with relevant criterias for awarding, for a given total of ten panels. The core of this pack is still made of the decorations provided by Charles Gunst (Iron Cross both classes and neckbands, Cross for War Merit, Wound Badge...), yet with a few ones discarded, and many, many others added: The Combined Pilot's-and-Observer's Badge (Gemeinsames Flugzeugführer- und Beobachterabzeichen), for experienced airmen. The Cross of Spain (Spanienkreuz), available in four classes (bronze, silver, gold, and diamonds), for veterans of the Condor Legion in SCW. The Honor Goblet (Ehrenpokal) of the Luftwaffe for special achievement in air warfare, established in February 1940 to reward deserving airmen not yet worthy of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The German Cross (Deutsches Kreuz) in gold, established in November 1941 with the same intent. Combat Clasps (Frontflugspangen), established in January 1941 in bronze, silver and gold, later with pennants, for a given number of operational missions. Available models for day fighters, or for Stuka/ level bombers pilots. Mentions in the Wehrmachtbericht (daily radio report from the German Supreme Command), for special feats, materialized by eight selected covers of “Signal”, the Wehrmacht's bimonthly illustrated propaganda magazine. After 1944, a Honour Roll Clasp (Ehrenblattspange) can also be displayed. The cuff title 'Afrika', for WoA campaigns. Seven foreign decorations: Spanish Campaign Medal and Military Medal (for SCW); Italo-German African Campaign Medal, Italian pilot's badge and Gold Medal for Military Valor (for WoA); Order of the Crown of Romania and Hungarian Fire Cross (for WoR, 1941-43 and 1944-45). As a bonus, I have included a folder translating in French all of the citations texts – for those who have chosen an installation in French language. Just delete if not interested in. 12. Breaking the barrier.

As long as that doesn't break the sound barrier too...
  13. 150 years ago this day...

On September 17, 1862, Robert Lee's Confederate Army of Northern Virginia faced a Federal army twice his strength around Sharpsburg, MD. Many units on both sides achieved glorious feats, many were practically wiped out, often the same. Lee could repel separated attacks for all of the day, and by the night, some 23,000 Americans were laying on the ground, a quarter to a third of each engaged army. A large part of the Union army had been left unused and lost the matchless occasion to crush once and for all the exhausted Rebel army that evening. Lee could fall back to fight another day, and humiliate Washington more than once again. Yet President Lincoln considered that bloody stalemate the victory he waited for since long, and issued his Emancipation Proclamation a few days thereafter. Battle of Antietam - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Antietam is the bloodiest day of battle ever fought on the American continent, and the bloodiest day in American military History. This day alone cost more American lives lost in battle than all of the wars the States fought since the end of the War of Independence. Humbly remember these days of thunder...
  14. I vote for the 'Three strikes and you're out" rule. There a strike is when obvious plagiarism can be proved, and no agreement can be found for the plagiarist to amend "his" work with credits and apologises. Then, time for the administrators to take steps. First time, a moderate didactic warning to the novice or absent-minded. Second time, a severe ultimatum to the one now suspected of genuine dishonesty. On this step, sterile yet intelligent "modders" unable to propose an original work should understand that they'd better stop uploading.Third time, well, too bad: "Walk the plank and say 'Hello brothers' to the sharks!"
  15. U.S. Envoy to Libya, Killed in Attack

Tunis, Beirut, Khartoum, Kabul... Street violence and localized riots spread all other the Muslim world. Now it really stinks of mounted coup, only waiting for the most insignificant spark as a pretext to get ignited. The next time a moron wishes to make a movie gratuitously insulting towards Islam, he'd better directly put a fatwah upon his own head, and possibly cut his own throat all by himself. Just to save time and unrest.
  16. Finally a dog that can walk itself

Just think bigger, and it won't be long before we can see real AT-AT walkers on the battlefield!
  17. U.S. Envoy to Libya, Killed in Attack

Lybia is in the same situation as Iraq in 2003: an oversized army has just been battled and scattered, and one has lost track of tons of weapons and ammo. The rate of heavy weapons per inhabitant must be just slightly inferior to the one of the Jap garrison of Iwo Jima! It won't be surprising if this whole country stays for years more dangerous than the Mexican border. It is not a coincidence if these attacks happen just two months before the American presidential election, i.e. with just enough time for an escalated reaction to take place, and to be severely judged if disproportionate or ill-targeted - or not to take place, and for this lack of reaction to be assessed by the American voters and exploited by the presidential challenger. If the Democrat wins yet by keeping a low profile, he will still be discredited. If the Republican wins through promise of revenge, well then, the big sport will begin... Peaceful Egypt and Libya quietly following a democratic process wouldn't suit the local extremists who just need even more chaos to strengthen their power. Having America reacting like the bull before the red cloak, sending dust up and blindly running over anything on his way, that's what the extremists want. Nothing can have these kinds of populations join together around them as inspiring leaders, more than being scolded, threatened or targeted by the evil, arrogant, over-armed, pro-Zionist superpower - especially if led by a notoriously fanatic Christian crusader, as for the last 'Junior' president. To prevail, always arrange things to place your opponent in a lose/lose situation. Done, checkmate. I remember having been to the 'Al Saraya' floating restaurant that can be seen behind Ian Lee. At that time, the Cairo natives seemed to me rather quiet passive fellahs (except when driving, of course!), and the events last year at Tahrir Square quite surprised me. I suppose that the touristic flow the country dramatically depends on will critically drop once more, and I suppose that once again, this will serve the interests of those extremists down there who'd like to see the situation worsen. Close the doors, it's hopeless. They have won already... Tribute to the fallen members of the diplomatic and security services. From the point of view of those extremists cold-bloodedly planning escalation, they have just played their expected role in the plot. But regarding their country, they have done much more than their expected duty. Marines, welcome back soon to the shores of Tripoli !
  18. The Adventures of U.S.S William D Porter

All of Charlie Sheen, Jim Carrey, Ben Stiller, Will Ferrell, Rowan Atkinson and Sacha Baron Cohen were already engaged on other projects...
  19. Gentlemen of the skies

René Fock once reported that about to machine-gun a German two-seater who had not noticed him, he suddenly felt guilty (even while he had done that countless times before), and decided to retain fire until the observer could notice him and fire a first and only burst at him. But in this case it was less chivalry than trying to spice the sport! Good comment about the sub warfare too, Hasse Wind. I have recently watched a fine TV film about the true story of the sinking of RMS Laconia in 1942, with nearly 2,000 Italian POWs aboard, by Hartenstein's U-156, and then the efforts by the German subs to save as many victims as possible, in spite of hazardous conditions, attacks by US planes, and strict opposite orders. Really an amazing story, restoring hope in mankind. Sadly, I can't see any counterpart for the US sub total war in the Pacific, not to speak about dramatic sinkings by the Soviets in the Baltic Sea in 1945. About chivalry in the sky, and the moment to switch from merciless slaughter to chivalric spirit, an American unit commander during WW2, whose name and unit I can't remember at the moment, had once summoned his men and warned them that he would court-martial any pilot who would fire on a parachute. But with a discreet wink, he added something like: "But as long as the bastard is still sitting in his crate, spray him with everything you have!"
  20. And then this happened

Hey, even 86-year-old Queen Elizabeth recently made a public parachute jump for the Opening of the Olympic Games... Oh, er, wait... It was a drag stunt, wasn't it?
  21. Noblesse oblige...

This is Rorke's Drift, 1879, as a handful of fortified British soldiers fights hard to repel mighty waves of formidable Zulu warriors. Standing in the middle of the position in a very martial attitude, the British commander audibly ask to his subordinates: - Aoh! Please bring me my red skirt! - What for, Sir? And the commander nobly replies: - For if I were wounded, I don't want my boys to notice it and panic! Moments later, the Zulu warriors are about to make a breakthrough in the British defenses, and the commander can see raising assegais and blood-thirsty dark faces, all of them angrily pointing at him. Then he moans much less audibly and nobly: -Aoouuugh... Please bring me my brown breeches...
  22. IAF Chopper crash

May the investigations be serious and exhaustive, for that not to happen again before long...
  23. Pakistain is number ONE !

Perhaps the pernicious effect on some believers' weak minds, of having somebody else's arse bending over just before one's nose five times a day?
  24. Observation, deduction, consternation

Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson go hiking and camping in the Highlands. One evening, they smoke a last pipe and have a last Brandy, then head for their sleeping bags for a good night. During the night, Holmes awakes Dr Watson: - Watson, my dear, open your eyes and look above you. Tell me what you can see. - Holmes, I can see millions and millions of stars. - Well, and what does this view inspire to you? - Astronomically, I think about the potentiality of life on trillions of planets scattered between milions of galaxies. Astrologically, I can observe that Saturn enters Leo. Hourly, I can deduce that it's about 3.15 a.m.. Theologically, I feel that God is almighty and that we are tiny and insignificant. Meteorologically, I think we shall enjoy a beautiful weather this morning. And what about your own feelings and reasonings, Holmes? Sherlock Holmes stays silent for a moment, sighs, and replies: - Watson, my dear, my feeling is that you are a complete thicko, and my reasoning is that our bloody tent has been stolen!!
  25. Question about von Richthofen's JG1

Mistakes were often. Nungesser once shot down and killed a young British pilot who had fired at him first. Influenced by military rumors, Nungesser was sure at that moment that he was under attack by a German pirate displaying Allied markings. Shaken by his terrible mistake, Nungesser understood that the green British pilot had probably mistaken his dark emblem for German markings. It's afterwards that he painted large Tricolore strips on his Nieuport to avoid further mistakes. Some planes drew more fire than others due to shapes similar to those of some famous enemy planes. In 1940, several French Potez 63 were shot down by Allied pilots for looking like twin-engined Bf-110. Roger Sauvage, the highest-scoring Black ace ever, was thus shot down by a RAF Hurricane; he could bail out, but stayed amnesic for 4 days. On the Russian Front, the Soviet pilots hated to fly the few Spitfires delivered by the Allies, for no plane in the Soviet order of battle looked closer to the Bf-109, and drew more fire from compatriots...
