  1. [WCATC NOTAM] Homepage Update

This has been fixed. Thank you all for your patience during this update.
  2. Fellow community members; I just wanted to start by saying that it has been a busy time this past summer. Now that things are moving into fall...:( we are hopefully going to be able to ramp up the activity at WestCoastATC. We are looking for people to get involved from all aspects. We need controllers, developers, customer service reps, and just general members that as usual have great ideas. If you have an idea or are interested in helping out our community please feel free to either email me or om me via these forums. As always we appreciate all the members that fly on WestCoastATC and are a part of our wonderful community! Thanks...
  3. [WCATC NOTAM] Homepage Update

WestCoastATC Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) Issued by John Bratcher (Executive Director), 27Aug09 This is to notify all members that we are aware of the month not updating on the homepage and a solution is being worked on. We thank all our members for their patience during this time. Thanks...
  4. From the staff at WestCoastATC we would like to wish all our members in our community Happy Independence Day. This is a very special day in the US and the world. This day represents the day that democracy won! We are free and as a veteran I want to thank all our armed forces for doing what you do! I know that these are trying times for us all and with that I refer back to a quote that one of our country's great leaders once said: There is nothing wrong with America that cannot be cured by what is right with America. ~William J. Clinton As I sit here and work in front of a scope watching/controlling military fly-bys and general aviation pilots fly in and around our area I am reminded how great it is to be free and how some countries can not enjoy an independence day as we do in the great USA. God Bless the USA and everyone else too!!!! BR
  5. Virtual Flight Organization

Ocean Miami has been removed from the WestCoastATC servers. Thanks...
  6. those are all some really sweet shots. Some of them you have to stare at a little bit to make sure they are not real!!!
  7. [WCATC] KSFO/KLAX

Friday, June 19, 2009 2000 EDT, 1700 PST ATC services will be provided between KLAX, Los Angeles International, and KSFO, San Francisco INternational. All flights originating or ending somewhere other than these airports can expect UNICOM until entering either Los Angeles (KZLA) or Oakland (KZOA) airspace. You can find STARs and DPs at http://dtpp.myairplane.com/ Possible flight plans might look like this: KSFO.EUGEN5.BSR.AVE.SADDE6.KLAX KLAX.VRU5.RZS.MQO.BSR.BSR2.KSFO ALL pilots must file a flight plan. Please Use the following frequencies for your flight: Unicom: 118.5 (This will be for when you are not under the control of ATC.) Clearance Delivery: 119.65 All other frequencies will be dependent on the number of pilots/controllers; pilots will be advised of frequency changes. If you use a router, see Westcoastatc.com/ for port information. This is extremely important, as you may prevent others from enjoying the session if your ports are not configured properly. See you in the Skies... The WestCoast ATC Team!
  8. If your VA/VFO is a current partner at WestCoastATC and still wants to be on our site please either send me an email or post in this forum. I will be deleting VFO/VA accounts that do not show any activity this month unless somone contacts me to say otherwise. Thanks... BR
  9. Fellow Members, The Director of Virtual Flight Organizations(VFO) position is now vacant. I am going to be over seeing this division while it gets back on its feet. An announcement will be made when the job is open for applicants. If you are a VFO/VA and are interested in joining WestCoastATC or are already a part of WestCoastATC please contact me and/or post in the forums with your questions. Thanks... BR
  10. Date: Friday, June 12, 2009 2000 EDT ATC services will be provided between KPIT (Pittsburgh Intl)and KPHL (Philadelphia Intl). Services will be provided between these airports only. All aircraft operating elsewhere can expect UNICM procedures until entering Cleveland (KZOB) or New York (KZNY) airspace. Suggested flight routes as follows: KPIT to KPHL: KPIT.PIT9.JST.BUNTS1.KPHL KPHL to KPIT: KPHL.JST.MXE.HAR.JST.NESTO2.KPIT. For those pilots running through a router, please review the AIM on the WestcoastATC web page. Failure to configure your router properly could result in your inability to join the session, and it may prevent others for enjoying the session as well. The AIM contains a wealth of information regarding ATC sessions. Please read it. Flight Plans (PLEASE READ): All flight plans for this session must be filed in this order. Any flight plans filed outside of this order will be asked to refile. Thanks: +fp N12345 C172 IFR 070 KATL.RMG.KAHN RMK +fp – Callsign - A/C Type - IFR/VFR - Alt. - Route – Remarks The session server will be open for pre-filing 30 min prior to the beginning of the session. 13. Server Most Used

Let us at WestCoastATC know which server you use most!
  14. Area flown most?

Fellow Members, What area do you like to fly most?
  15. Do you need this? If you want to connect your FSX to an FSHost session, you need this. If you're using FS2002 or FS2004, it can already connect to FSHost and you don't need this. If you're only hosting with FSHost, it already supports FSX and you don't need this. What's new in 1.1: Fixed multiplayer connect window sometimes not appearing correctly. Fixed chat window sometimes not appearing correctly. To-Do list: Fix jittery movement of remote planes. When flying in close formation with another aircraft, the other aircraft jumps around in the sky. Support full-screen mode. At the moment, you need to have FSX in "windowed" mode in order to see the various popup windows from FSHostClient (chat, multiplayer connect, etc.). You can maximize the FSX window by clicking the middle button up in the right corner, but be sure the "Full Screen" option under the View menu is not checked. (press the Alt key if you don't see the menu bar in FSX). Translate the program. I hope to have FSHostClient available in multiple languages in the future. If you're interested in translating messages from English to another language, please let me know. Things not currently supported by FSX: (These are things that FSX doesn't currently allow me to set, but hopefully will be updated by Microsoft in the future) Time and date from FSHost. At the moment, FSX does not change when these are sent by FSHost. Moving rudder. At the moment this is not visible on remote planes from within FSX. Propellers, rotor blades, and doors 2 & 3. At the moment, airplane propellers always appear to be turning and helicopter rotor blades always appear to be stopped. Also, when door number 1 (or the canopy) on an FSX plane is opened or closed it's visible to other FSX players, but doors 2 and 3 are not. Helicopter player names. At the moment, helicopters are visible but without the player names over the top of them, or sometimes with the default FSX tail number instead of the actual player name. Installation: Extract all files in the downloaded zip file to any directory. (For example: "C: \ Program Files\FSHostClient" would be fine) Run the program (FSHostClient.exe) from the directory you extracted the files to. Make sure FSX is in "windowed" mode, not "Full Screen". Disable local AI traffic in FSX. (Options / Settings / Display / Traffic tab, set "Airline" and "General Aviation" traffic to zero) Turn on player names over their aircraft. To do this in FSX, click the Options menu, select Settings, then Display, then click the Traffic tab. You can turn information on and off in the "Aircraft labels" section on the right. Be sure to turn on "Tail number", in order to see the other players' names. Connect FSX to an FSHost server. There are two ways to do this. In FSX, start a flight so you're in a plane, then click the Add-ons menu, select FSHostClient, and then "Multiplayer Connect". Or if you want to connect before starting a flight, use the FSHostClient window and click the Multiplayer menu, and select "Connect to session" (or just click Ctrl-M). To disconnect from within FSX, click the Add-ons menu, select FSHostClient, and then "Multiplayer Disconnect". Or in FSHostClient, click the Multiplayer menu and select "Disconnect from session" (or just click Ctrl-D). Works with existing FSHost servers, no upgrade is currently required for FSHost, although a new FSHost will be available later to take advantage of new features in FSX and FSHostClient.
