Last night I was just testing my new video card in Quick Combat I manovered behind the enemy aircraft and let the lead fly.. After a few seconds i heard a loud crack and his wing snaped off along with a tearing of fabric sound just before I saw the pilot fall out the plane 5000ft to his death.. That really got me thinking about real ww1 air combat and the fact they hand no chutes..

Hi guys.. The other night I started off my first Campaign made a balance of realism and gameplay but most realism is on.. So far so good September 1916 as a member of Jasta 2. Chalked up 7 kills so far.. Boelcke and Richtofen are there though Richtofen has 0 kills. Game date is September 3rd 1916 and I am sure somone will correct me but wasn't Richtofens first kill (confirmed) on the 17th of the same month? Will I be able to transfer to the Jasta 11 if i live long enough? Just been awared the Iron Cross. I hope we get equiped with the Albatros D.II soon. I really don't like the Halbastrad.. Totally enjoying the sim now I have a joystick i am relativly comfortabe with and some time. Now I am an ace I will have to make my own paint scheme. Backon the days of Red Baron 2 I flew a camo style blue and light blue SE5a

WOW dident I say I had a bad feeling about this flight? Took off headed to the front on patrol with the sq. one of our flight decided to disengage and dive away.. he got close.. too close.. He hit my wing tip and pretty much killed my controls.. I got out of there as fast as i could and landed at the nearest airfield I should not be here right now.. Nevr saw what happened to the guy who it me was too busey regaining control and nurseing her home.. My had is soaked in sweat now. But on a lighter side a previous 2 kills were conformed making my score 10 and they gave me another iron cross

Wow this is weird.. I was only thinking last night if we will ever see zeplins in game.. I think you should get permission from the guy who created this zeplin to include it permantly in the game.. Even if there were not many of them they should still be included.. I remember mainland UK defence missions against them in the original Red Baron.

Just watched this and thought it was appropiate to share with you guys... It makes me sad to think these men will not be about for much longer.. I love all ww2 vets regardless of their alligiance. My old man is a ww2 vet (Royal Navy) I met a Lt. General who served in Stalingrad I have a book that is signed by a nice german man who served in the 6th Panzer div Anyway Here is the video that I found a bit touching

Anyone know what would cause this?

I used to play KoTS back on the Amiga a lot.. Kinda anoying you could not play as the Germans or Americans Never knew it affected repuation I might have to get it on the Amiga emulator and have a look again.

I have only encountered scouts/fighters on one mission so far. nearly all my contacts have been two seaters. I actually feel bad shooting them down.. so helples and tempting. I'm looking forward to having twin guns. I just have a bad feeliong about my next mission for no reason 0_o "I know that I shall meet my fate somwhere among the clouds above"

Go for it mate.. I have no regrets about buying it. If you enjoyed the oldies like Microprose's Knights of the Sky, Red Baron and Red Baron 2 you will find this amazing.. More seems to be added all the time in patches. I cant believe its still CFS 3 under the hood because what a bloody aweful sim that is. OFF is simply amazing. Best WW1 sim ever in my openion. Good Hunting o/

Just got my shiny new Saitek evo force.. awesome I thougth to i tore the packageing open only to see somthing anoying.. Europen power supply.. Why is a UK supplier selling them with europen power supplies and not a 3 pin uk plug.. Should I RMA it for a refund or phone saitek and beg for a new power supply? So i am still without a joystick.. Might give up entirly and go buy a 3rd rate one from pc world.. At least its easy to sort when somthing goies wrong..

Well it appears to work fine :P I did a 1 v 2 on vet AI and handeled myseld ok..ish Pretty damn good joystick for the money.

it was through Amazon a company called 'Conrad' There was no UK power supply with it at all. Update had an idea.. I decided to just try my power supply for my raceing wheel and lo and behold it works :P now to test it properly

I sent a few pm's to people on you tube with a link to here who made comments on the red baron games videos saying they wish there was a decent ww1 sim.

That looks pretty cool its before my time and never knew that series exisisted.

My screen name is just a coincidiance.. back when I got the interweb foir the first time I randomly chose it and its stuck with me for 12 years. At the time I did even know about that ace named Pappy :) Elitegruppe? I can bearly hold my own in a dogfight against the AI on veteran and somtimes I get lucky on Ace.; I am getting better thought trying to learn the Dicta Boekle and its saved me abit. I just really need to know how to do all them fancy manovers when it matters. My weakness is I find it hard to maintain the speed and energy my turniung too much. I hate it when then SE5a's do that nasty vertical move. A mentor would be nice. I can fly and land ok it is just air combat skills I lack. I keep it on, It is much harder in games to maintain situational awareness even with a track ir. it makes you no less resiliant to enemy fire.
