just one of my dreams
whiteknight06604 replied to whiteknight06604's topic in Thirdwire - First Eagles 1&2
lol i did the same thing too a while back. ;) I asked Capun a while back if he could update the Aviatik lod so that the radiators could be selected. I used the usual ini trick to remove them for a smoother experience to the fuselage.I'd love to see a true SAML or other Italian 2 seater but we have so many great additions since I first posed this that I'm pretty satisfied. -
excellent.

Strike Fighters modern combat for PC
whiteknight06604 replied to logan4's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
for the people he's marketing the game too sadly it is. not all but many of today's gamers are more into games like this than simulations. short attention spans and the need for action of realism. hey people can play what every they want but this will appeal to more gamers than even a sim lite like SF2 today. -

Armed Observers for FE
whiteknight06604 replied to Stephen1918's topic in Thirdwire - First Eagles 1&2
I did it fast and dirty. obviously the armed observer is not animated but it's pretty simple to copy over the data from another aircraft. just copy over the gunner and rear seat(or what ever most matches the field of fire) gun data. then swap the machine gun stated for a rifle. I've added a dummy gun firing forward too so the aircraft can be ordered to fight air to air. it adds a tiny bit of risk when you attack a so called unarmed aircraft.A flare might be simulated by a gun with a large/bright tracer effect and a slow velocity? here is my test MSTypeLAO. it's just a hack and slash job and nothing is an original idea of mine but just some cut and paste ideas from others far smarter than me. it might give people an idea how to get their observers to fire at enemies though . this is set up for FE2 as thats all I have installed at this time. Battle of the Bulge Terrain [maybe]
whiteknight06604 replied to baffmeister's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - World War II Forum
one can only do their best with the tools they have available. I'm sure in the end it will be glorious if not an exact replica. thank you for the work you are putting into this and the research and details you are putting into the terrain given the games limitations. -

Unarmed Farman HF.20
whiteknight06604 replied to Stephen1918's topic in Thirdwire - First Eagles 1&2
unless the gunner is made like a turret with his hips for rotation and his arms for elevation I can't seem to figure out a way. that has the limitation of being a permanent fixture of the plane but might work. i was really thinking of just a static pilot model holding a rifle in a semi-rest position for a little eye candy. maybe instead of animating the head to look side to side the pilot model could rotate in a limited way at the hips just so he looked more "alive" even though that would not allow him to actually aim his weapon. I'm not a 3d modeler so I don't know what is or is not feasible though -

beautiful work as always. now I have a suggestion. not a request but just something to keep in the back of your mind. would it be possible to make a "pilot" figure that is holding a rifle or pistol? some of the unarmed aircraft i will add an invisible "flexible gun" that has the stats of a rifle to simulate an observer armed with a rifle. It's certainly not any sort of priority but might be fun to see the guy in back holding a gun. -

I saw the thread title on the front page and my heart sank until I read your post.... I'm so glad you are doing well. I was just thinking about you Monday while installing some of your P-40's .

Chinese territorial claims
whiteknight06604 replied to Ice Man's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mission & Campaign Building Discussion
What about the Chinese L-15? there is one in the SF1 download section here. it's far from a perfect match but in my opinion a closer fit than the F-5. -
lol clearly doesn't understand the situation...SMH. alternative facts is a term used to counter when others use questionable facts. just because the brain dead drones making memes don't seem to understand doesn't mean that people should believe it. when someone presents something as fact and you know it's not the case and you put forward the truth you are using an alternative to their "facts" it's not brain surgery. the only people who are confused are the terminally moronic or those who choose to intentionally misrepresent things because of their petty biases and I'm glad you are smart enough to see that it was clearly a slip of the tongue. a more dishonest person or one with a more questionable IQ might try to portray otherwise.

lol she misspoke....she was referring to a couple terrorists and said massacre instead of terrorist by accident. the only people making an issue are a few internet trolls. SMH. it's no different than when Obama said there were 57 states or that he was a Muslim.... he made a talking error and so did she. it happens to anyone and to make it into anything other than that is just childish and sad....

Libyan Mirage F1 skin
whiteknight06604 replied to Viggen's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
I don't think there is for the newest F1s maybe some for the older one. I think until the Libyan specific version is released you may have to modify the Moroccan one. at least that one is desert colors even if it's not historically accurate. -

I'm in the same boat. I'm too lazy and stupid to learn so that's why I have so much admiration for the guys who are still bringing us new presents.
