File Name: SAAF Mirage IIIB/C/D/E/RZ Cheetah C-D-E Superpack (*) File Submitter: paulopanz File Submitted: 19 May 2015 File Category: Mirage 3 South Africa was one of the The largest export customers for Mirage IIICs built in France as the Mirage IIICZ (16). Some export customers obtained the Mirage IIIB, Mirage IIIBZ (3) and Mirage IIIDZ (3) and Mirage IIID2Z (11) were for South Africa. A good number of IIIEs were built for export as well, South Africa had the Mirage IIIEZ (17) too. Export versions of the Mirage IIIR were built for South Africa as the Mirage IIIRZ (4), and Mirage IIIR2Z (4) with an Atar 9K-50 jet engine. You will have ALL those SAAF Mirages (58) by numbers and letters in a single pack, designed for long waited south african scenery. The IIIC/RZ served with 2nd squadron from 1963-4 till 1990 The IIIEZ served with 2nd squadron from 1966 till 1970, then with 3rd attack squadron untill 1975, when that unit was equpped with Mirage F.1. So they went to 85th Combat Flying School squadron and were retired in 1986. The IIIDZ served with 3rd attack squadron and then 85th Combat Flying School, alongside IIIEZ from 1970 until 1986. File Name: Post War La-5FN (S-95) (*) File Submitter: paulopanz File Submitted: 27 August 2016 File Category: Soviet Origin After WWII 31 Lavochin La-5FN fighters and La-5UTI were incorporated into the inventory of newly formed Czechoslovak Air Force. Czechoslovakia became the sole operator of the La-5FN outside the Soviet union. In the CAF the La-5FN were designated S-95 (S for Stihacka - Fighter). These aircraft remained in use after the type had been withdrawn from Soviet union. By the end of 1948 most La-5FN had reached the end of thier life and were gradually withdrawn from service use. File Name: Post War P-63C Kingcobra (*) File Submitter: paulopanz File Submitted: 26 August 2016 File Category: Other In 1945, 114 P-63C were delivered to the French Air Force (Armée de l'Air), but they arrived too late to see service in World War II. They however saw service during the First Indochina War before being replaced in 1951. Initially the French Kingcobras were deployed to Algeria. Fighter squadron (Groupe de Chasse) 2/6 "Travail", previously equipped with P-39 Airacobras, received their Kingcobras on 18 July at Casablanca; the pilots were surprised by the higher landing speed of their new aircraft. The Kingcobra were scrambled to Indochina when the insurgency broke. Only 60 Kingcobras were operational in Indochina in January 1950, mainly because the Americans refused to supply spare parts. Starting in February 1951, the squadrons equipped with Kingcobra started to receive Grumman F8F Bearcats as replacements. Most Kingcobras were mothballed by July. The last flight of a Kingcobra in Indochina took place on September 6, 1951. WHAT'S IN: - a post war P-63C model remodded and repacked - 14 new French Skins and decals added - 2 new VVS skins - weapons tweaked and fixed - steering front gear - USAF due very little usage disabled from userlist.
