I told you, Olahm, those random freezes, are the hell. Everything that Parky said is right, as usual. How many passes have you done with memtest, Olham? There's one other thing, that I would do... I would reset the motherboard cmos and let it assume the default values for CPU, mem, etc.

To work with OFF you need the beta version. http://combatace.com/topic/60032-ot-facetracknoir/page__p__449305#entry449305

When changing the bios settings, from stock to overclock, always keep note of the stock values, of everything, including memories.. But why did you decider yourself to switch back to 2.83Ghz? Was it not working well?
-
If it's working with CFS3, than there's a great chance for working with OFF.

It's free. But see the post above yours done by the creator of FaceTrackNoIR. You'll need the beta version. Contact V4Friend, and he'll supply you the beta.

I wrote drives but I meant drivers. As for the cables, I wasn't meaning the power cables that come from PSU but the data cables that connect motherboard to hardisk. You've replace them also? There's a little test you can do... try to remove the last memory stick, and see if the system freezes again. The next thing is something related with something that you won't to hear, probably.... You'll have to configure you motherboard to operate at stock speeds. So remove the overclock, and see if it's stable. You shouldn't have a problem with it , because it's only a minor overclock.... but the truth is that if you want to diagnose the crash you'll have to operate at stock speeds. Sorry that's rule number one. Unless you just want to buy a new CPU, motherboard and a new memory.

Well, I didn't want to say anything, but... I wasn't convinced the problem could be the one above. Have you tried memtest with the four sticks at the same time? Tell me, have you overclocked the CPU? Have you done any drives update lately? Also check the hardisks. You must have sata cables. Take them out and mount them again. The ideal situation would be to replace SATA cables. This is a long shot, but my technical instinct, and it's not always correct, tells me it could be a controller/cable/Hardisk problem. But that type of freezes, like I've told you before, are sometimes very hard to diagnostic. But let's not despair.... for now.

Hmmm. I hope so. Unfortunatelly the memory slots, are in most of the times, close to the CPU. So if you're not using a CPU stock cooler and are using instead a bigger one, problems like these are common. And to add, Corsair memories use big memory passive coolers (like it should be).

The developer told me that is last beta version, is already working with CFS3. He asked if I was interested to try woth OFF. I've a TrackIR device, is anyone of you gentleman, with a webcam and without a TrackIR or FreeTrack device, want to try it? It's free and only need a webcam.

A review: http://www.gamearena.com.au/pc/games/title/evochron-mercenary/reviews.php?id=5088861 I'm feeling addicted to the game, in spite of some flaws.

Download memtest86 and burn a cd with it. Boot the computer from CD/DVD, and let it test it. But if you don't have it any blue screen and just freezes, it mightn't be memory. But test it anyway. The kind of freezes you're having are not easy to diagnostic. It can be almost anything, since software, motherboard, graphic card, etc. Is your system overclocked? What about the temperatures? Are they normal?

The terrain and the clouds are looking very, very nice. I'm impressed. -
No I didn't. If it's not working with CFS3, than it won't work with OFF.

OT Nazi Guards (funny)

I would compare the Japanese atrocities more with Kosovo. The Nazi problem is a different one. They created a industry/factory of death. Everything was cold thought, planned and executed in the most efficient way (I could say German way). That was unique. And this was conducted by educated man. By pure westerners. Some of them, sensible enough, to find the all matter disgust but necessary. There were some that must have been socio/psychopaths. But not all. And I firmly believe, most weren't. It's this that disturbs me must. Not that I found the other atrocities less important. Of course I don't found all the Germans at the time guilty. Fear is human. Most were ruled by fear. While I fully agree we have a moral obligation, the living in a fear environment changes everything. -

One thing is clear for me, we cannot relativize it and trying to compare. This was a unique situation. It cannot be compared with Rwanda. Even Kosovo was different , in spite of having some common characteristics. We tend to see the typical Nazi has a scoundrel, but it wasn't so. That Amon Göthd type was more common than that we might think. Heydrich for example was not a criminal type. Like Olham, I find this very disturbing. -

I understand you Olham. Lately I saw Shoah, Die Wannseekonferenz , Hotel Terminus and The Specialist documentary. After that my faith in the human race really decreased. This time I was really beaten. I too wouldn't feel much comfortable to know that they come from my national breed. There was the Holy Inquisition... But that was half century ago. Not a couple of generations ago. Now more than ever, I understand why usually, I can't speak with Germans, about these things. And yet, they shouldn't feel guilty. -
Anyone looked at the Intel i5 680 (3.60 - 3.86gig)
Von Paulus replied to markl's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Be careful with I5 family processors you choose. If you go to I5-750 or I5-760, you'll have 4 real CPU cores and 0 threads. All the others only have 2 real cores but have 4 threads. The first one are true quad processors, the others are basically Duo processors. The duo processors have usually higher clock speed, but in term of modern gameplay can suffer from having only 2 cores. In case of OFF, probably the processors with higher clock will be better. But with the possibility of overclocking and thus pushing the clock speed, the I5-750, I5-760 and all the I7 are a much, much better option. Personally I have a I5-750 2.66Ghz overclocked 3.2Ghz. I could go easily to the 3.6Ghz, but to be honest, so far I don't need. Every game is running fine. -
