Not a the moment. But yes I had several. My mother loved cats and we once had 10 cats living around us. It was... wild, to say the least. When they were angry we knew always that they were angry... one had the nerve to jump to my bedside table and gentle wake up me at 8AM up with his pawns, if there wasn't anyone else in the house to give her food.
-
And that doesn't look at you thinking you're food.

Well, I'm still paying the house where I live (more eleven years). The cottage isn't much valuable, because it's in the middle of a isolated tiny tiny village. Even if I wanted to sold, I wouldn't get much money. But I will never sell it. It was my mom and her parents (at least) house. In a way my roots are there. And yes I feel lucky in that regard. Because I live near the beach and the sea, but if I want to get out to clean ideas, just get the train (3 hours) and escape to the mountain. So I get the best of the two worlds.

Not really, but it's true that I'm used to that smell, that I can't notice a difference if it isn't too strong. However I can hear sometimes the rumble of the rough sea. I inherit my old mother's house, so I have another place where I usually stay for four or five times in a year. It's near the highest mountain in Portugal. It's an old house that in spite of having been rebuild fifteen years ago, it's completely made of stone. So it's quite cold in Winter, even with central heating. Here it's a view to the sierra in a gloomy day.

I live in a block of apartments near a garden: And this is my view to the garden and the sea (a couple km away):

There's a new drill, Britisheh. A lot of us prefer CA, this place feels like home. But OBD moved officially away to SimHQ. So now, we've an extra aerodrome to visit everyday. http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/3575057/SimHQ_New_Official_Forum.html#Post3575057 -
I wish you all the best, Tony. My thoughts will be with you and Tranquilo.

But at what expenses? Just an example... Can you compete with much, much, much lower salaries? Is it really a fair competition? We give them advantages. And we're still giving them. In a way we're repeating the same mistakes before WW2. If some of the purpose is to avoid a war, I'm afraid that might not be enough, unless we give them all what they want.

Yes! Mordor, the scum of Chicago school of economists and our rotten politicians/rulers.

Amen. And not only the industry, even the tertiary sector, in so many cases, is already out of our countries, out of Europe. What's funny is when we were sold to the Chinese it was said that we could kept the services. I've come to the conclusion that we must have been sold again. At least we know where part of our industry is. Somewhere in China. And we all know that we will never be at war with the Chinese... after all they already took in possession a lot of what was ours.

Hi OvS. The call is always stronger when we have the right pedigree.

Don't talk me about mouses and Amiga. That and power supplies. And not forgetting those ZIF memories for A3000. I have Amiga Forever now, and I usually buy all the updates. Ten years ago, and knowing that sooner or later my diskettes would be demagnetized, I was able to pass all of them to diskette images. I used a serial cable that connected my A500 to a PC. I've spent a week or two doing that... it were more than 400. Only my love for the old Amiga would make me to do that.

I've missed your post tranquilo. Just be tranquilo (which is a Portuguese word for calm), today most surgeries are less close to hazzards. I'm sure everything will be fine. My thoughts will be with you.
-
Well... it's closer than it was yesterday... and tomorrow will be closer than today... We have too look on the things bright side.
-
That's why... I'm used to Workbench 1.xx, 2.xx and 3.xx. I hadn't the pleasure of using the 4. My last Amiga was a 3000.
-
Hmmm. I don't remember them to be so colorful, Lothar. What Workbench version are we talking about?

You can pay custom taxes as the DVD comes outside EU. In my country, usually they let pass the small value orders, but not always. It's a question of luck. If you've the bad luck of having to pay the custom taxes you usually have to pay some administrative taxes as well. If you already paid the VAT at the time of the purchased, then you can reclaim later that value if they force you to pay. Yes it's one of the reasons why I personally avoid importing things directly from places outside E.U., unless I really want. In that case, I risk. For DVD's and blu-rays there are ways to bypass it. There are some online shops who will do the import, and it's not more expensive, unless of course you're comparing with a sale in Amazon. Usually my US special editions and sometimes only editions, come this way. You find things in US which you don't find in Europe.

Well the Jean Richard I have with Portuguese subtitles, but I'm afraid that probably wouldn't help you much... But the Jeremy Brett is in plain good old Oxford style. Even a child who doesn't know English, can understand it.
-
Well Olham, Jean Gabin was a better actor than Jean Richard. But I've grown seeing his Maigret (not the case of Brett's Sherlock), and at the point when later I read some of the Georges Simenon novels, I've always picture Maigret as Jean Richard. I'll try to see what I can get for you... I suppose you don't have problem with French? And Cremer's Maigret... do you know it?
-
Well Olham, Ive never said, that I wouldn't see any new Sherlock just because I think that Jeremy Brett is the perfect Sherlock. I've seen most of the after Sherlocks, in spite I'm 99.9% sure, like few things in life, that will never be one as good as Jeremy Brett. Why because he's just perfect and unique, and it's how I see Sherlock character. Anything else will be different and I will like less. And no, I don't think it's stagnation. Do you need always to reinvent the wheel just for the sake of reinventing it? I know we're talking about art, and things can be subjective at that point. But for me personally, what Jeremy Brett was able to do was something almost divine. I've seen several times his episodes, and I never feel tired watching it, and above all I'm always being surprised by him. So it's only natural that when I look anew Sherlock I'm always a little skeptic. After all I'm human. And for me the best Maigret, although this quite arguable, is Jean Richard. Maybe in second place, Bruno Cremer.
