Problems with OFF and my new Saitek Throttle Quadrant
jamieandnici replied to jamieandnici's topic in WOFF 1 2 3 / UE - General Help
Sorry alccoyjr for not being clear enough ol' bean. I forgot to say that OFF does recognise the quad and so does my OS which is Windows XP Pro. -
Problems with OFF and my new Saitek Throttle Quadrant
jamieandnici replied to jamieandnici's topic in WOFF 1 2 3 / UE - General Help
A big thanks to you guys for trying to help. Uncleal- I purchased this very joystick (Saitek ST290 Programmable Joystick with Throttle) a couple of years ago and changed the base to lefty but hated it as I had a problem when I used the X axis to bank the aircraft I would inadvertantly twisle the rudder/twist mechanism in the base which activated the aircrafts rudders. eventually, I got so infuriated with it that I gave it away to a mate for free as I couldn't hit a sausage due to yawing the aircraft at critical moments!! My CH Pro Rudder Pedals function fine with the joystick and continue to give me excellent realism with no conflicts whatsoever with or without the Saitek Throttle Quadrant installed. Almccoyjr- One thing I have noticed is that I cannot configure any button from the throttle quadrant when in the OFF control config screen. It is as if the quadrant isn't being recognised at all in the sim. Therefore, I have saved a profile in Saiteks SST software and carried the binds into OFF, but unfortunately, no matter how many times I attempt to bind the left lever to use in OFF as the aircraft throttle and the middle lever in OFF for aircraft fuel mix, both don't work when in the cockpit in OFF. Only the Z-axis (right lever) works as the throttle and I have had to bind 2 switches underneath the lever to act as fuel rich/lean mix increments, which is okay as a temporary fix I suppose, but like I said previously, I purchased this throttle quadrant to use the levers not the switches for added realism and currently have 2 levers lying dormant which defeats the reason for purchasing the hardware in the first place. :( Thanks again guys for your help so far. I will try to fathom out the problem if I can, otherwise I will continue using the present setup in OFF. -

Any tips out there from fellow pilots on dog fighting Camels
jamieandnici posted a topic in WOFF 1 2 3 / UE - General Help
Can anyone help me try to combat the Sopwith Camel successfully. I've tried several techniques including climbing instead of diving when in combat to gain the upper hand, I've also tried the zoom and boom technique of flying from above attempting to have a pot shot at one then climbing out of harms way and I rarely try to attempt dogfighting with one (especially to port) as they are so much better at turning due to their engine torque. Any suggestions will help. Cheers. -

Thanks for your help guys. I will try to avoid them for now until I figure out the advantages and disadvatages in AI single player campaigns. Thanks again and happy flyin' all. -
Loss of wireless connection
jamieandnici replied to Rickitycrate's topic in WOFF 1 2 3 / UE - General Help
Have you got a filter for every single phoneline that you use. The filter is designed to filter out the phone and broadband signals so both can work together at once. You basically attach your phone line into this together with any other outgoing line (broadband, sky or cable etc). They cost £10-£15 each. But if this is the problem drop me your email and I can send you a few spares if this is the problem. -
I have recently noticed that after flying several campaign missions with friendly AI pilots where they have been shot down or crashed etc. their deaths have not been logged or recognised by the OFF camapign manager/generator and their names stay on the duty roster and are available to fly in the next campaign mission with me. I understand the enormity and difficulties surrounding a programmer of a simulation such as OFF BH&H in attempting to recreate real life scenarios but is this normal behaviour for this simulation or have I got a bug/glitch with my copy of OFF BH&H? All the best J. :) PS I'm not really bothered by this problem, but have just noticed it and would like some clarity on the matter, thanks.

spawn_facility icon on the tactical map?
jamieandnici posted a topic in WOFF 1 2 3 / UE - General Help
Hi all, just a quick question to ask what is the purpose of the 'spawn_facility_**k**' (*=insert random number here) icon on the tactical map display and is there any way of hiding the icon (2x white circle icons) using the OFF manager settings? -
I have recently flown a couple of bombing missions and observation balloon destroying missions where I use rockets. However, I have bound the 'select ordnance' and 'fire ordnance' keys (using joystick button 3 and 4 respectively). However, the 'select ordnance' button works fine (as it tells me at top of screen that rockets or bombs have been selected) but when I try to immediately fire the rockets or drop the bombs nothing happens. To test if the joystick works correctly I have also bound the joystick button 4 to 'jettison ordnance' and it works fine but reverting back to 'fire ordnance' does not!!! Can anyone please help me. The joystick buttons do work as I also use them in IL2 1946, so I know it has something to do with either the game settings.... or me!! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. J. :)

Can't seem to stay in formation when on campaign missions
jamieandnici posted a topic in WOFF 1 2 3 / UE - General Help
Hi all. Just a quick question for anyone out there who can help. I've been playing OFF for a number of weeks now mainly in campaign role. I hardly like to cheat and instead of pressing a key to get me to the next waypoint I try to stay in formation with the rest of my buddies. However, this has always been easier said than done. The AI planes always seem to climb away from me with shear ease as if they have some kind of permanent 'emergancy power' applied to them and its getting frustrating as I often end up losing them even on full power myself. Can anyone help with my frustration? Thanks in advance. J. :) -
