  1. DCS: World News

I guess we'll just have to guess what those frequencies are since at lest the F-86 full manual isn't completed.
  2. DCS: World 1.2.8

For me the F-86 is a buy because it's my favorite airframe from that era (same as the P-51 is for WWII). Will I fly it often, not once the novelty wears off, but I'll enjoy having it on my ramp. Now if we could only get an F-4 (Vietnam era) and an F-16 as well as an Apache or modern Cobra (only rotary wing ACFT I have any interest in) I'd be a very happy virtual pilot.
  3. DCS: World 1.2.8

I agree, plus my reward went from 40 dollars the old way to 25 the new way. I'll take it 'cause it's better than nothing. I'll use it towards the F-86 if it hasn't expired by then again.
  4. Thanks for sharing, SilverDragon. ED should pay you since you're the only person I see who shares ED, partner, and 3rd partie updates on multiple message boards!
  5. I honestly never expected to get 6 aircraft for 40 bucks when I backed the kickstarter.
  6. Well I'm happy now since I get to choose what aircraft I want. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=126712
  7. And once again ED is bending us over and f......well you get my point. So now instead of getting the number of ACFT I was promised in the kickstarter I now only have to pay 20 bucks to purchase them. Plus, I already have the P-51 so how is that an award? I will never participate in a crowd funding campain for anything DCS World related item again. I don't care if it's actually ED proper, partners or 3rd parties. I backed it because I wanted the P-47D and Spitfire, but I'm stuck with the P-51 (again already purchased) and the Dora (which I could give two craps about).
  8. DCS: FW-190D-9

They say it doesn't impact other projects but I simply can't believe that based on EDs size. Even absorbing most of Luthers team they still are stretched very thin.
  9. EDGE news develop

The next announcement they're going to say "after internal discussion it was decided the current theater will be updated with EDGE. This in no way will impact the timeline of our other projects" or something along those lines. That gives those who love the current map something to be happy about and ED time to further delay the Nevada map.
  10. VEAO A-4C Skyhawk

Because they just aren't the same. A partner seems to have better access to actual ED code where as a 3rd party has to wait for various APIs. I can't really go into more detail because of NDAs but suffice it to say a big difference exists. Like you said, most 3rd parties IMO are a joke. Out of the 3rd parties we know about (meaning have individual sections on the ED boards) VEAO, Leatherneck, and AvioDev will release products this year. Both Razbam and Cortex Designs have gone completely silent and IRIS dropped out rather quickly. Maybe they will release something eventually but I think most are overwhelmed with the learning curve to develop for DCS and the expectations of the community are. I'm looking forward to a handful of 3rd party airframes (Hawk, Typhoon to name a few) but what I really want is EDGE (meaning Nevada not 1.3.0) and the release of the EDGE SDK so 3rd parties can start making new theaters. What I got to test of 1.3.0. prior to leaving the ED testers team, well all I'll say is the current theater looks much improved but it's still flying over the same place we have for what 10 years or so.
  11. VEAO A-4C Skyhawk

The only item holding up the release of the VEAO Hawk is legal discussions with BAE. From what I have been told the plan for all VEAO releases is SFM initially and will have a EFM, PFM, whatever it's called when finalized. Also, you can't compare 3rd parties to Belsimtek, they are a partner. Partners get more support than 3rd parties.
  12. DCS: FW-190D-9

Only interested in the Hawk, Mig-21 and F-86. Hawk ,well I'm partial as I've been in internal tester for VEAO for over a year, Mig-21 because I want to lean how best to kill her, and the F-86 because I always loved that airframe.
  13. EDGE news develop

Wash, rinse, repeat...same thing we've been hearing for almost a year. I hope to see Nevada sometime this year but I'm guessing December 14 or January 15.
  14. Here is my thought. It took ED 3 to 5 years to develop the A-10C. You have people arguing that is the same timeline that ED i workign towrds with the F/A-18C but here is the different. What did ED release/work on when developing the A-10C..... Nothing that I recall. So while the A-10C took 3 to 5 years to develop with no other known distractions, the F/A-18C is being "developed" but with... *The move to DCS World *Blackshark 2 *Combined Arms (original and 1.5 release) *P-51 *FC3 **A-10A upgraded to AFM *Individual releases for each FC3 ACFT **F-15C & Su-25 AFM *Nevada aka EDGE *DCS WWII (what 5 or 6 different airframes) So, I would put at least a 2 to 3 year "curve" on the F/A-18C so maybe the 18 will take 6 to 7 years to develop. I hope I'm wrong, I hope ED is working on a 16 or 18 that we really don't know about but I don't think that is the case. They may be working on the 18 but I dont' think that is the top priority.
  15. Most 3rd parties I agree, VEAO will have the hawk out soon, mainly legal stuff holding it back last I heard.
  16. Don't worry, I'm sure they'll make it over here. They already did to my post at SimHQ :( Thank goodness for VEAO, I'm still beta testing for them. I think they are approaching 3rd party ACFT the right way, doing both WWII and modern airframes with separate teams.
  17. Yup, but don't say that on the ED boards because you'll get attacked by the koolaid drinkers, ED Testers and moderators. Don't expect any modern airframes from ED for a long time to come. I'd even be willing to bet the WWII EDGE map makes the light of day before Nevada which I've been waiting for a long time. Really only reason I didn't leave the ED Testers Team sooner (left last month) was because I wanted Nevada, and mainly Nellis to be correct. I'll keep testing for VEAO who IMO is the one 3rd party who will have great airframes included eventually.
  18. Some virtual organizations are looking forward to a dedicated training ACFT, I know we in the 476th vFighter Group hope to use one of the upcoming trainers (T-38 or Hawk)for our vTraining Squadron.
  19. DCS World, Overview Video, New Announcements

Very exciting times coming for DCS World...Nevada was even mentioned!!
  20. A Few New Things at the USAF

I need to get a TDY up to WP soon so I can check out the new additions, it's been a couple years since I've been up there....
