Love the map, Sir. Thank you for your efforts. Now I should be able to find my way back home! Kind regards, Dave

Gee - even with "Labels on" I was getting jumped!
Baldric replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
I've resorted to labels and a minimum range tac but am finding my own poor decision making (I blame too much time trundling about flying DC-3's in AirHauler, a mod for FSX, lol !) and layers of rust are the root cause of my pilots not getting much beyond the 15-18 minute mark. Plus the fact I'm awed by the environs and too busy gawking around at land and skyscapes- missing the enemies all together. It's all good. And totally agree with Tom above. :) -
Greetings to all! Just currently in the process of downloading WOFF (another 23 minutes to go). I will be happy to be back patrolling the skies and looking forward to the next iteration of the DiD Campaign. Kind regards, Baldric (Dave S.)

S! RJW, cheers my friend! Just had my first flight (using shadow mod- which is brilliant btw) and at risk of sound clichéd..... WOW. I know where I'll be spending my evening tonight! Brilliant stuff chaps :D

Who is the oldest (and youngest) OFF'er
Baldric replied to JimAttrill's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Aye, 50 here. Just to add to JFM's bit on accu-sim, A2A also put out 'Accu-feel' which can be added and used for most if not all your aircraft collection in FSX- I like it and it's really livened up some of the default aircraft, and my other add-on aircraft just adding to the immersion. For example, the windows in the Lockheed 12's cockpit open and close but there is no additional sounds in G.A.S's default model, however with accu-feel 'on' you get the sounds of wind rushing in when the window is opened, and it gradually dissappears when the window is slid shut again. Highly customizeable as well. -
Thanksgiving Coma? Autumn Avolition? Hibernation?
Baldric replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Stay away from Air Hauler (Just Flight) for FSX...totally addictive...I'm using vintage air from the 1930's and having a ball flying with a purpose while waiting for WOFF. -

Air Hauler and A2A J-3 Cub...bad combo as now I'm completely addicted...no willpower...<gasp> -
<raises hand> I have to admit being similar in mindset UKW. I've had IL2 since just after release and probably had more fun trying to make authentic skins and playing co-op homemade missions done by a friend than anything too serious but that was quite some time ago. I dabbled a bit over the last couple of years ago trying the 352nds Channel Map and some user made BoB scenarios, one of the mod packs (HSF?) but it just didn't grab me. Not really sure why. For all its eccentricities I enjoy BoB II (rebuild by BDG) and it's grittiness. Currently addicted to Air Hauler in FSX flying some vintage craft while waiting for WOFF. Woof!

I'll have to fire it up again. I don't suppose the campaigns have changed any? I'd love to see a marraige between BoBII and CLoD :D

Il-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover Final Patch Review
Baldric replied to JediMaster's topic in Game Reviews
Nicely written review. I have recently re-installed CLoD but haven't actually fired it up as I've been plugging away at Air Hauler in FSX (I'm not sure if that says anything about my desire to test the new CLoD patch or not...) :)- 7 replies

mmMmm those look tastey! -
I had a quick read about aerofly but seeing as how I've just returned to civvy flight simming by finally investing in FSX (only played the first MSFS in the mid-80's, then got hooked by Microprose for combat fs'ing) I decided just to focus on the one. Tried Flight but quickly found it not to my liking, same with Xplane, and decided if I was going civvy it would be FSX. Currently having a lot of fun with Air Hauler, running REX and some ORBx scenery. Toying with the idea of picking up a copy of FSPassenger, and a Lancaster if there was a recommended model.

I'm around, just 'quiet' while waiting for WOFF. I have played some SF2 and FC2 over the summer, then recently decided to stick a toe in the venerable FSX. Had no idea there were that many add-ons for FSX! (currently using Air Hauler, REX and ORBx PNW). So many add-ons in fact I will never moan about the amount of DLC for Trainsimulator 2013 again. :) -
Here's wishing your wife a quick recovery. Don't forget to take care of yourself as well.
-
Argh. Moaning aside, I'd rather have them get it as close to 'right' as they can before release. The extra wait will just give me more stick time in FC2 and SF2 series.

OT: This could be a joke, only it isn't
Baldric replied to Von Paulus's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
I would think that anyone wanting to produce electronic media (movie, game etc) that involves any countries current military establishment would have the smarts to check in with that particular military establishments own media relations people. Co-operative endeavours usually benefit both parties quite well even at risk of being labelled 'propaganda'. I seem to recall a certain movie involving F14's and the USN's cooperation that was a win-win. Other examples must be out there. They could have asked for cooperation, and if it was refused that should have been the end of it. Photographing installations is just foolish imho. -
