DiD IV Campaign - Flight reports & Player instructions

Raine - So Bell-Gordon has his 5th, despite the best (worst?) efforts of those clown in the Claims Office. Keep it up in the new year and there may be a waft of cigar smoke and the swish of tulle fabric. The Pup reigns supreme right now, at least until those V strutters start showing up. Full steam ahead! This Henderson fellow, otoh... I'm not sure the nasty little blighter can be trusted. Sail carefully. Albert -- Good thing I've just had dinner or I'd be ravenous after reading about Edward's culinary adventures. An uneventful transition into the staffel then two weeks of dud weather. Sounds almost ideal, certainly better than going aloft in snow and sleet like some of the mad Tommies are wont to do. The Roland looks like a warmer bus. Good thing with that frigid breeze off the North Sea. Very cool pics Best of luck on the return to action. H & B! TWK, Welcome to Beau. You've dropped into the first RFC squadron to get Pups. Downside is that 54 were the last to lose them in Fall 1917 but that's as far away as the moon. Looking forward to revisiting 54 Sqn. Do forgive me but when I see Charles and Gray in the same string of names and I unconsciously conjure this legendary chap: -

Raine - Bravo Douglas! Sounds like your man is finally hitting his stride. Bloody claims wallahs notwithstanding he's done a man's job and so has Hayden. Shame about the three unconfirmed. That's just wrong. Thoroughly enjoying a catchup of Bell-Gordon's tale. Most evocative episode with Rockwell's funeral. I'd not realized how many of those chaps went west in 1916. You're carrying the fire alone for now but I think you'll have company soon. o7 -

Raine, first off my deepest condolences on the death of young Hawkwood. I finally caught up with his tale and felt a certain kinship. Blasted Collision code!! Welcome to Douglas. Marvelous introduction and a backstory that begs for elaboration...assuming we get that far. To that end, no more woolgathering on the return trips!! We've all been there. Greatly relieved your man survived his first encounter with the Hun. I have no doubt he will take the lesson to heart and keep repaired weather eye out for e/a... or is it still h/a in Sept 1916 ? More importantly, are the nurses treating our Aviateur Canadien properly? -

Outstanding stuff. I'm still scrambling and have yet to give these superb narratives the proper time for a full reading. FYI, Raine is still playing host to a huge family reunion. I'll be Kayaking the Thousand Islands from August 2-5 and will not have my WOFF materials in tow. Only my iPad. Please take extra care (always) but most certainly until get back on the 6th. Looking forward to a long catch up with all your adventures. Cheers, -
gombicek, Welcome to our magnificent obsession. Glad Pol sorted your question. When circumstances permit, I encourage you in the strongest possible terms to get TrackIR. I believe it to be the most transformative addition to the fight sim experience after the jump to joystick from using arrow keys.

TWK, I don't I understand. Is the game jumping you forward 2 days for some other reason besides inclement weather? I've not checked the game weather files but historically, March 21-24, 1916 was a complete washout. Please advise. -
Did you use a backup and restore after you upgraded? If so you may have an outdated WOFFkeys.xca file

How can I go directly to a new unread message?
epower replied to epower's topic in Site Support / Bug Reports / Suggestions
Thanks Erik. It's not a deal-breaking thing but I was curious. In the interval I shall keep a closer eye to my email notifications. Cheers! -

Gods Below! So very sorry to hear this, Albert. Having walked that road twice I know what you're going thru. Godspeed on the rebuild and hopefully a bit of recovery. epower -
When receiving an email notification of a fresh message on CA, I can click on the "Read full message" box within the email and go directly to that new unread communication. By contrast, using the CA website (under the envelope icon top right) defaults me to the first message in the thread. Since I have several message threads multiple pages long, reaching the unread message now requires navigation. Is there a similar shortcut directing me to the new unread message as happens when I click on the notification in my email? My apologies if this has been covered but search revealed nothing. Thanks,

Concur. Hold off on Balloon Archie Mod and DiD Guns Mod. As always any mod which modifies the file below should be avoided: OBDSoftware\WOFF\OBDWW1 Over Flanders Fields\simulation.xml -

Just downloaded and examined Recon Wars Update 1.21 There are changes to the Simulation.xml file so this update breaks the DiD Guns Mod v1.0 I'll be taking a look under the hood and will update the guns mod ASAP. Until then, do not use with the new update. -

Seb - You left out the final bit. Hurling is a Thugs game, played by thugs. Judge a Runt by his size do you, and well you should not. Your man is doing very well indeed -

I do hope you are recovering quickly from COVID. Very sorry to learn that Armand went west. The narrative is a challenge when losing men so quickly. One option which I will employ when I finally join in the fun here is the 'Reenlist' button on the main pilot dossier page. This allows you to start a new pilot in the same squadron with the same personnel, the day after your previous pilot dies. Perhaps you might pick up the tale of Armand's tent mate. Just a thought. Take Care, epower -
trotski, I agree that the WOFF training scenarios could use some additional immersion but given the resources available to them, I'd prefer the Devs focus on other areas. I've just started WOTR. Is there a training scenario that I'm not aware of? Given complex engine management, I'd say a training program is more important in WOTR than in WOFF. I'm with you on the completionist/ deep dive approach. Cheers

Finally have some time to begin exploring WOTR. To set the mood, I've been dipping back into Geoffrey Wellum's 'First Light.' When the time comes to create the training regime for WOTR, may I suggest Flt. Sgt. Eddy Lewis as the WOTR counterpart to Captain Triggers.
